Click through for a close up. It's pomegranate soda.

The pic didn't get bigger.

But I like pomegranate too. :)

I bet that's a good soda.

Yeah, I recommend the Izze soda!

No added sugar.

I saw the close up of the glass. Remarkably like a certain red beer of the Pacific Northwest that, alas, is no longer produced in its original form.

mmmmm

Ei! wie schmeckt der Coffee süße

I grew up with a pomegranate tree in my backyard.  Fun fruit!  Loved to have seed spitting contests with the neighbor kids. Never could beat Davy.

Today, I'll take the coffee (with two sugars and half-and-half, please).

I am deeply envious.

I wish I had enjoyed my time in the city so much as you enjoy yours.

Bissage: It's an illusion! I was grading exams.

I still miss Ovens on Monroe Street. But the wine/liquor selection there now is excellent.

Freshly roasted Peet's Ethiopian Fancy is in my grinder at the moment...it doesn't get much better, imo.

Drink coffee, mmmmm, better.

Pomegranite soda, eh? That sounds interesting.

I like mixing pomegranite juice into a White Russian. The result is delicious -- like a boozy pomegranite milkshake.

Karl, truer words were never written.  Thank God for Peet's.

And Jane, as you know, the words I quoted above in German continue (translated),

"Lovelier than a thousand kisses..."

Your link demonstrates the silliness of this sentiment...I think. It can be just as hard, sometimes, to forget Peet's Ethiopian Fancy as it might be to ignore your love on the field of gold.

If I understand what you’re saying, Theo, I would agree-- coffee and sex both give smooth to robust memorable pleasure. Sounds like a spot for an exotic/ erotic coffee, on cable maybe :)

But what I meant to say in the earlier comment was “Drink coffee better.” It's not always about better coffee. Matisse combines the two pleasures, each mundane and special but, together, especially inviting in an easy way. Am too lazy to look up any art criticism of this work, but the coffee instead of wine gives the scene a relaxed domestic trystiness and life affirming quality to me. Wine alters, makes us forget real life in a way. Now, please don’t tell me she’s his daughter and the cup was just a handy prop for the artist!

Enjoyed your comment on the other coffee thread you linked.

Are you done with the "vortex" stuff yet? Post away at my blog if you like -- stalk me to your heart's content.

Why don't you just apologize to GWPDA? That's what I don't get. You made a mistake and said some hurtful things. Why can't you just admit that and move on?

Strange.

It would be funny to grade sex like we grade coffee: "Robosto, please!"

You should try a Blenheim's Ginger Ale if you get the chance...all the hotness of ginger is not removed....mmmmmm

Ann Althouse বলেছেন...

I remember Vernor's ginger ale, from when I lived in Ann Arbor. Fascinatingly weird. When I was growing up, the main ginger ale was Canada Dry ginger ale, which was often the only soda in the house (because it was a staple -- a mixer). To me, ginger ale tastes like the absence of Coke.

Beautiful, I can almost taste it.
If you are ever traveling out west I suggest Coal Creek Coffee in Laramie WY. The coffee is superb.
Still my favorite coffee house of all time. Enjoy your day.

I would heat Vernor's (with a shot of whiskey) as my cold-recovery beverage of choice...mmm...Blenheim's is a different beast, much more hot. Only at Zingerman's here in A2, I think they buy most of the supply from the place in Alabama where it's made...

Hey Sarge, are you speaking of Red Hook?

Never has it been more aptly shown,
the glass is half full.

Now with Bush it's a different paradigm:

Half Fool, or Half Empty?
