From the Rolling Stone 'counter review' of Berlin:

“prettiness has nothing to do with art, nor does good taste, good manners or good morals.”

Pretty much sums up a lot of problems with modern art right there, doesn't it? I mean, if it doesn't even know what standard it is supposed to be transgressing, how can it be intellegible?

"What are you rebelling against?" "Whatta ya got?" indeed...

TW: After me an me droogs left the Korova milk bar, we went out for a bit of the old ultra uzgrooq.

Follow up question. "Division. That's great Lou. So what do the colored girls say?"

(For any pop culturally ignorant folks -- "colored" is not a label I use or would use normally. -- Troy's PC superego)

Lou Reed hasn't figured on my cultural horizon for 20 years. Exactly like Billy Joel.
