I was going to suggest some sort of Instapundit related Instaoneupmanship regarding the Instaterse posts, but someone beat me to that suggestion.
It's Instaenvy?
Yet, it's not like she needs an Instalanche.
Maybe after reading too many overly long winded papers submitted by law students, law professors long for linguistic simplicity after about the 3rd or 4th week of classes.
"I'm eager to see what thoughts Ann's reborn, refreshed and renewed mind, no longer shackled by the rusty chains of Republican Party talking points, will bring to this blog."
So Ann may, on the third election cycle, rise from the dark tomb of double-plus-ungood-think and start supporting the policies(?) of the Democratic party? Cool! In the meantime, I'm glad to see that the undead lefty commenters have enough of their decomposing brains left to remember their talking points, so that they can stumble around from blog to blog searching for victims. Brains! Taxes! Multilateralism! Global Warming! Healthcare! No brains for oil!
"I don't know if this country can survive until '08."
We'll do just fine if the Democratic party in Congress ceases to exist as a coherent unit after January '06. That way we can start from scratch in '08 without any serious danger of those people obtaining any kind of influence over government.
Brian Excuse me, but are you saying that blogging about ketchup bottles, and barbie dolls, means somehow that Prof Althouse doesn't have a stand on torture legislation, and the elimination of habeas corpus for prisoners captured in Pakistan, Iraq, Italy, and Canada?
That's pretty pre-9/11, don't you think? King John, 1215? Please.
I submit to you, that for some, these are tough issues for a Law Professor to wrap their brains around. Maybe Prof Althouse does not wish to "take sides" on the elimination of habeas corpus so close to an election, and therefore influencing anyones mind. This IS a Law Blog by the way.
Let me ask you; Is there a better individual to "interpret" the Geneva, and what is, or is not torture, than our President, George W Bush ?
Lastly, I'll take the House Leader Dennis Hastert at his word, when he says anyone opposed to this bill is "coddling terrorists" What reason would I have to doubt his word? Just a a month ago I saw on Speaker Hastert Website, under Upcoming Events, "Keeping Kids Safe in Cyberspace Commmunity Meeting August 29th"

Althouse (the blog, rather than the host) is many things, but it stretches credulity to suggest that it is exclusively - or even primarily - a "law blog." It is a blog written by a law professor; but just as you wouldn't say that my blog is an "internet technology blog" just because it's written by someone who works in that industry and because I occaisionally comment on those issues, you can't rally consider this to be a blawg. When a law topic does come up, obviously Ann speaks (by virtue of her position) with a certain level of authority that doesn't attatch to her commentary on other subjects, but that doesn't make this a blawg.
Special thanks to all the commenters who stuck to the one-word theme and to those who remembered that this blog is an art project.
Ricardo legitimately brought up the detainees bill because he used monoverbalism. Those who just railed about the detainees, well, you're so out of synch with my way of thinking that if I did explain my position on the thing, you wouldn't understand it.

Is it just Wisconsin weathers?

Just as long as she'll come back.

This is the Most Emailed story on the NYT, and it is excellent.

The "Most Emailed" list includes both opinion and news, so calling it the most emailed opinion piece would have understated its popularity.
Convincing? Maybe not, but certainly interesting.

I bet my blog on some . . . .
Prof. Althouse merges art and law to produce Linguistic Minimalism.
Please, dear Jesus, don't come back.
Dave should take his own advice.

Alternative?
Anal retentive.
Every dream I have about Ann Althouse is nasty. Because she is just too hot and brilliant to resist. Too bad I do not live in Wisconsin.

Seems like a good enough guy for me.
