Out by the lake, it was like this:
Peaceful... dull!
Let's go to State Street... Damn!
I missed Wanda Jackson. I only found out recently how much I love Wanda Jackson....
Damn! I'm feeling forlorn....
Get me some coffee:
I feel better now... Ooooh...
Just another day in Madison, Wisconsin....

I didn't know you liked Wanda Jackson... I think her music is very interesting, although I only have one album, and I don't know much about her as a person. I didn't even know she's still alive.
Listening to her early stuff, I begin to understand why people were very concerned about the advent of rock music. For a southern girl in the 1950s to say the things she sings in her songs, and make it seem so fun and innocent...well, it's quite seductive. In some ways (i.e., because she's a woman), she almost seems more threatening and sinful than Elvis' grinding hips.
And she gives terrible advice to women!
The poster beneath the Wanda Jackson poster appears to be advertising "kinbaku: japanese rape bondage." What shop window puts up that kind of poster?
Simon: You can always click on my pictures to get to larger versions. If you click on that one, you'll see it's "rope bondage." I hope you're okay with that.

That's considerably better - now it just seems very, very weird rather than horrifying. As with many, many things Japanese, I find myself paraphrasing South Park: "dude, what the fuck is wrong with japanese people?"

"I missed the Feel Good Festival yet again...."
Had a great time campaigning there. I just may carry Portage county in the senate primary.
