Synova म्हणाले...: This has just given me a craving for pecan pie. No, I don't particularly *like* roaches, but if I stopped eating because of gross stuff I wouldn't eat at all.

So my reaction to the roach is... hey, look, a bug. And my reaction to the pie is... ooooo, haven't had pecan pie in a while, I wonder if I have enough pecans to make one? (I use the pecans in a chicken-walnut curry recipie because I don't like walnuts.)

Pancho म्हणाले...: A couple a' roaches in a pecan pie never hurt a thang. In fact, in some of the dives where I've eaten the best pecan pies the roach factor is probably considerable.; १७/५/०६, ९:५२ PM
chuck b. म्हणाले...: Actually, I made the visual association with cockroaches years ago, and it's never stopped me from LOVING pecan pie. It's one of my absolute favorites. Sometimes I make a chocolate pecan pie, which really amps up the cockroach look. It's delicious.

I also like to make a two-layer version, with a pumpkin pie layer underneath the pecan layer. I have a fabulous slash white trash Ritz cracker pecan pie recipe that people always like. Once I made a chocolate cream cheese layer for the top of the pecan pie...really, really good.
