Bob Dylan is going to host a weekly radio show, on XM radio. Starting in March, he'll be choosing the songs and doing interviews and commentary. Is he articulate enough to be a good radio guy? He's got that clipped, mysterious way of speaking. But, what the hell? It's Bob Dylan. He can say what he wants. He doesn't have to be DJ-y. He can be podcast-y. It will be better that way.

I expect he'll play songs that influenced him rather than his own, and that his commentary will resemble the liner notes to World Gone Wrong. That should be quite a ride!
If he's wise, he'll listen to a few Audible Althouses, fall in love, rob from the very best and be the artist he's always been - a master thief.
Wow, this is the first XM or Sirius program that makes me want in. I love musicians who are also music/record geeks. Little Steven's syndicated radio show is quite enjoyable -- and Elvis Costello always has great taste and insight when he writes or speaks or covers others' music.
Dylan spinning records and talking about them! It's gotta be great, murky, quirky, enigmatic, piercing, glancing, true.
Thanks for the heads-up.
What Steve Barton said!!!!
Cooooool.
At this point, Bob Dylan could make car commercials and I'd pay to listen to them!
When I was a kid, a local radio station had a running gag called "the Bob Dylan weather report." It was a great concept: "Hey man, drive safe, there are slurpies from heaven, all over the road . . ."
I for one would be thrilled if the commentary neared the sheer comic genius of World Gone Wrong liner notes . . .
