My wagers were that Janice would be nominated. Nothing was said about her playing second fiddle to Hapless Harriet or anyone else for that matter who could have preceded her. 180 clams are on the line here. Hands were shaken that Janice would be nominated, period!Politically, I wonder how such an alleged ogre could get all the way to the SC of California, then onto a Federal bench? You want a Judge? Give 'em Janice. She will look just fine sitting beside high-handed Clarence. And can't you just hear Ruth clucking her tongue to her most trusted Clerk should Janice ascend? Huh? It's time for Bush to draw a deep line in the sand and come out swinging to fully insure the Judicial legacy of his Presidency.
The Harriet Miers' blog was an item in The New Yorker's Talk of the Town last week. The general tone of the piece suggested that the New Yorker understands blogs.
The saddest thing about this whole fiasco is that I will miss the blog more than the person! I don't if I can come up with a better reason to not put her on the court!
Take it away Mr. Morrison... This is the end, Beautiful blog This is the end, Her only blog, the end. I'll never read your posts...again.
I am saddened to hear the news of your decision to withdraw your nomination, but politics can be a bitch.
Tonight - me, you, the Penthouse (because it is the best) 103 degree jacuzzi, caviar and toastpoints, grapes, and chilled Veuve...I am all ears, with broad shoulders to cry on and 70 inches of leg therapy to wrap all around you.
You gave it your best shot! Hold your head high and don't forget my philosophy, may the best man win, me! Fondly, PJ http://patrickjfitzgerald.blogspot.com

Harriet's blog may soon be going dark, but it looks like other insiders are getting in on the game.
Just in time for the indictments tomorrow, we have The Patrick Fitgerald Blog
And, perhaps hoping to up her chances to be the new nominee, Judge Edith Clement has a blog.
Finally, it looks like Judge Luttig's Blog is back in business.

Poor thing. I think she ought to call the Manolo, have a couple martinis, and shop, shop shop!
