Faking?

This fraud illustrates how brazen Democrats have become and how little their base cares about election integrity.

He didn't look for 'Republican' under the name?
I'm skeptical.

That man is Greg T. Martone, of AT Printing, Inc. His firm did more than $37,000 worth of printing for the (real) Senator Dan Sullivan campaign.

This gets 12 fakes out of 10.

No, Vote for me, I'm Dan Sullivan

Will the real Dan Sullivan please stand up?

Lazarus म्हणाले...

I kept getting political calls and texts from Alaska because apparently the person who had my phone number before lived there. It's annoying because the four hour time difference meant that after dinner calls were coming at bedtime. I didn't check to see if I'm registered to vote up there too.

Chuck म्हणाले...

Oh and by the way; this stupid and disgraceful fake is brought to you by Overton News, the same garbage outlet that supplied less than two minutes of the 16 minute interview of Haley Stevens by Anderson Cooper. The clip that Trump fanboy Byron York liked, and that Althouse turned into a blog post.

RCOCEAN II म्हणाले...

In other news, election centers in Mariposa county in Arizona is having "power outages". Right on cue.

And Fulton County GA just admitted that 300,000 votes weren't signed off on. Despite claiming they were for 6 years, and it being required by state law. But Gosh, things happen. Y'know?

Lazarus म्हणाले...

We had so many ballot questions that two ballots were required. I got so into filling out the little ovals that I voted "yes" on a question that I wanted to vote "no" on, so if my taxes go up I have only myself to blame.

But there are intentional shenanigans by the state, too. The referendum to repeal the new 40 page gun law required a "no" vote to the measure, rather than the usual "yes."

RCOCEAN II म्हणाले...

Byron York just tweeted out a extract from Peggy noonan. Seems Peggy wants a mid-term wipeout so the Republican party can get back to "normal".

Noonan seemed so much happier under Biden. Now, there was a "true conservative".

RCOCEAN II म्हणाले...

BTW, this is what the Never-Trumpers like goldberg and bartlett at the WSJ were hoping for in 2016. Trump would be wiped out and take the Republican house/senate with him. And then with MAGA destroyed, the "moderates" and "True Conservatives" would take their rightful place as the heads of the party. Mitt Romney 2020 - here we come!

But y'know that didn't happen. Sads.

Mark म्हणाले...

He couldn't read Incumbent and Republican next to the name and figure it out.

Based on the ballot I saw, people claiming this probably shouldn't vote if their reading comprehension cannot handle this.

RCOCEAN II म्हणाले...

You can only valid ballot measures when you have (1) fair and honest elections (2) a non-partisan judiciary and (3) and alert and homogeneous population.

California has none of these, and should just get rid of ballot measures.

Maynard म्हणाले...

Chuck talking about “stupid and disgraceful fakes” is quite a gem.

Anyway: DAN SULLIVAN (INCUMBENT) vs DAN SULLIVAN (Presumed Missing).

I see this has triggered all the right LLR people.

Mark,

It sounds like you are talking about the base of the Democrat party.

Is it just me or does he look a little like Jussie Smollet?

Lazarus म्हणाले...

Rockefeller Republicans are gone, so are other Manhattan Republicans like Noonan. There's nothing left there to build a party on, but in foreign policy MAGA/America First does look more and more like Dick Cheney neoconservatism. Trump or no Trump, that won't change.

Peachy+2 म्हणाले...

Alaska voters are notorious stupid. So the Dem's trick might work.

Rabel म्हणाले...

Y'all don't realize or refuse to realize that a lot of people are not news junkies or perpetual onliners like everyone here and have no idea about the race or the names and walk into the voting booth cold.

Those people are the target of the scam.

Which is a larger percentage - fully uninformed voters or voters who are unable to get a photo id.

It's the first by far. I know a few.

Peachy+2 म्हणाले...

Rabel - True. That's the point of the scam. To snare those who barely pay attention.
Alaska keeps electing Murkowski - the brat daughter who scams her way in with rank choice.

He's a better actor than most when it comes to performative politics. I really don't see how someone could not know that there were two Dan Sullivans on the ballot. First, there's been all this media coverage about it and second, you have to vote for all the candidates by rank. Here's my first choice, here's my second choice, here's my third choice, ect.

Massive turnout in this small NH town. A lot of older people - canes, leg casts, walkers. These voters aren't stupid but there was no way to know how they were voting. Complete courtesy on all sides.

Greg The Class Traitor म्हणाले...

Well, the thing we know with 100% certainty is that the Mary Peltola campaign put a lot of effort and $$$ into finding, recruiting, and keeping on the ballot their fake Dan Sullivan in the sole expectation that this would happen.

So it seems rather delusional to now pretend that anyone who say it did happen is faking it.

Remember the "butterfly ballot"? In that case it was made by Dems, approved by Dems, and then Dems manufactured claims that it disenfranchised voters.

The fake Dan Sullivan was manufactured by Dems and approved by Dems. But this time republican voters are the targets.

So hell yes the Dems should be held to account

I'm hearing a lot of this lately. People acting like it's all a big yawner. It's basically an IQ test to vote, so they say. It's a funny thing when you think of all the arguments that have been bandied about against voter ID laws. "IT'S JIM CROWE 2.0 ON STEROIDS!"

I've also been reliably informed that literacy tests were one of the worst things ever done by Southern states to disenfranchise minority voters.

But an obvious trickster spoiler candidate that targets a Republican candidate is a-okay. Guess the next move for 2028 is to find randos named Kamala Harris or Gavin Newsom or AOC and get them ready for the ballot.

We could do the "me too" thing where it's a numbers game. 23 Alaskans say they might have voted for the wrong Dan Sullivan. Are they all lying?

Literacy Tests were bad back in the day because the white people either didn't need to pass them or they were much easier than the ones freedmen got.

Acting like this is peak confusing is ridiculous if you bother to consider ballot referendum questions, which are often worded in order to be deliberately confusing.

We (Ann and I) did vote. But there's a story behind that. Back in May Ann realized (due to blood in her vagina) that she might be ill, and following her brother dying of prostate cancer a few years back after avoiding doctors for years, she instantly went to the emergency room—which diagnosed it as endometrial (uterine) cancer—a dual type known as carcerosarcoma.

The tumor was surgically removed last July 1, which was found to have approached within 1 mm of penetrating the uterine wall—if it had done so it would have instantly have catapulted her case's seriousness from Stage 1B to Stage 3 cancer—but it did not.

Then in August she was due to start chemotherapy infusions (6 infusions 3 weeks apart, to be followed by 4 radiation treatments 2 days apart) to forestall any metastasis, but the initial chemotherapy date was delayed a week while her oncology doctors contemplated a recently arrived analysis of the tumor's genome indicating that it might be vulnerable to immunotherapy (her own immune system also attacking it).

The doctor informed us that the immunotherapy contained some (low) risk, though he told us that he had once lost an immunotherapy patient but never to chemotherapy. Since consequences (much less serious consequences) were deemed rare, we jumped at the chance to attack the cancer in as many ways as possible; and so approved the proposed immunotherapy—which was combined with the first (eventually supposed to be included in all of her) chemotherapy infusion(s).

Three weeks later, in early September, Ann received her second chemotherapy infusion; however, an oddity concerning her liver in the preceding lab results caused the doctors to skip the second scheduled immunotherapy so she only received chemotherapy on the first occasion.

A couple of weeks after that Ann was getting ready to leave for work when she suddenly noticed that she had *double vision* (two images of the same object side by side in her head). Local (not oncology) doctors thought at first she might have had a stroke, but an MRI ruled that out. That left an autoimmune reaction to her earlier immunotherapy as the likeliest cause, but the local hospital failed to prescribe steroids (as her oncology doctor had recommended) to repress her immune system at that time.

A few days later, in late September, I drove her to Medford, OR (about 100 miles away), where her chemotherapy infusions were being performed, supposedly for only the one day (full day) required for the third infusion.

The *very next day* she was in the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) fighting for her life—with heart and liver inflamed and her breathing seriously afflicted—a condition known as *myasthenia gravis*, or “weak muscles”—triggered by her immune system's huge attack on her own body, as a “rare” consequence of her first and only immunotherapy treatment six weeks earlier suddenly struck back with a vengeance.

For 3 weeks she remained in the Medford ICU receiving massive doses of steroids to tamp her fired up immune system down to just a pilot light. Ann steadily improved, though still needing a ventilator (ultimately placed in her throat through a tracheostomy hole cut in it).

Finally a couple of weeks back she was deemed recovered enough to be discharged from the ICU and transported to a rehab facility in Redding, CA (one capable of dealing with the ventilator she still required to breathe and stomach tube to eat). I've been with her the whole time.

There she's been for the last couple of weeks. Lately almost entirely breathing on her own with just a little supplemental oxygen, her eyes now fully open (rather than showing mere slits in the myasthenia gravis “drooping lids” syndrome). She seemed on course to soon graduate to a skilled nursing facility where she could further relearn how to walk, eat, and speak.

{Continued below…}

Michael McNeil म्हणाले...

{Continued from above…}

In a sudden crisis starting about 2:30 a.m. yesterday morning, however, Ann's nurses noticed that her oxygen demand was going way up, while blood pressure was going down (75/50 when I got there). The night physician recommended she go back into a nearby hospital's ICU where she could be properly treated for this new issue, whatever it was.

By late afternoon, still on a downward course—apparently due to an abdominal problem (the area was very painful for her, while a CT scan revealed her gall bladder was distended)—we (actually I, since Ann was largely out of cognizance by that point) were faced with the “choice” of exploratory surgery to occur literally within the hour (deemed, given her weakness, to have a prognosis of 40-50% mortality!), or other less invasive approaches believed to be even more risky (especially due to the loss of at least 6 more hours time, which might well be lethal). After much soul-searching I approved the surgery.

As it turned out, Ann's surgery went well last night; she came through it even better than we might have hoped. The culprit proved to be her (gangrenous! as it turned out) gall bladder, which was removed, and now she's resting comfortably, still in the local ICU, after which (days or weeks from now) she can resume her rehabilitation.

Oh, were we talking about voting? Today I was supposed to be in Siskiyou County, where we live, to work as a pollworker during today's election. Yesterday's events put paid to that. But I had our mail-in ballots with us, so around noon yesterday I dropped them off at the post office (being careful to have a clerk stamp them as postmarked before election day, when otherwise they might not collect an automatic stamp for days). This morning I got a text from the Calif. Secretary of State announcing that they'd received at least my ballot and it was being forwarded on to Siskiyou County.

None of the foregoing is fictional, in case anyone was wondering. Now I'll go back into the hospital (I'm in our car at the moment) to see her.
