And THANKS for that post! I loved that song from the first time I heard it. And today I discover I have been mishearing the lyrics all these years.

It's getting chilly in the mornings though.

I watched the Brewers game yesterday. Good win- now if you can get through today with Yamamoto pitching the Brewers will be in good shape.

Big If though.

I heard somewhere that the line "Will you meet me in the middle, will you meet me in the air" was originally "will you meet me in VA." I've always heard it as a reference to "There's going to be a meeting in the air." I would have expected that to be a Dan Peek contribution but Gerry Beckley wrote the song.

I fell in love with that song one morning when I woke up to it playing. The sun was just coming up through my open windows on a beautiful and typical L.A. summer morning, with a mild breeze wafting through the room, the smell of flowers, and birds singing. I thought I was dreaming, but it was real, and I was free and alone on a perfect morning, feeling pure gratitude for everything at once. The song reminds me of that feeling ever since.

I first heard that performed by The Carter Family (then, Anita, Helen and June, along with Mother Maybelle) on some compilation CD I picked up years ago at a Cracker Barrel.

I wasn't raised with it, but along the way discovered and still love a lot of old Southern Gospel music.

Well, meet me Jesus, meet me, meet me
in the middle of the air
If these wings should fail to me
Lord, won't you meet me with another pair

------Traditional, recorded by Bob Dylan on his first album (1962)
