Why do people think music is related to time? Youtube is full of comments like "Gosh I'm 16 and I like this" or "Amazing I'm 82 and amazed people still listen to this".

Music is good - or not good. Its not related to how old you are. That's record industry propaganda.

The lowest of his presidency in this poll.

US voters are going to support candidates who can credibly deliver on US domestic semi-public goods -- health care, housing, education, economic security (the real Big Four).

Increasingly, US voters are going to reject failing foreign policies (they're all failing) as an unaffordable diversion of resources away from urgent domestic needs that require funding. It is a very basic and fundamental resource allocation problem.

American voters have not so much been disrespected as they have been disregarded.

Another Administration FIZZLE. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is a formal, non-binding document that outlines the shared goals, intentions, and general terms of an agreement between two or more parties before they draft a strict legal contract This is now this administrations MEMORY of an understanding. Promises made.. Promises FIZZLED, just like lower prices for all including gas, no new WARS, pay down debt (going to 40 trillion with trump RESPONSIBLE FOR LARGE CHUNK) allies detest us under this fella, TARIFFS unconstitutional and brain dead, 23 courts so far have rejected trying to et data that is designated for states not the president in attempt to mess with voting)and the guy in charge sleeps through the meetings plays golf and is hooked up in cultural issues, revenge and pet projects as one judge told him, your not the owner here ,your just a tenant. Threatening allies with bombing as he stamps his feet and makes idle threats. WHAT IS THIS GUY GONNA DO ABOUT THS WAR HE STARTED and cant get out. DO SOMETHING, nobody cares about your ballroom, arches ,WWF fighting rings, pollutions of oval office making it look like a tacky cheap DOLLAR STORE. C'mon man DO SOMETHING WAKE UP. China sitting back and watching with amusement, Iran saying false ,they did not try to assassinate trump he is destroying America all by himself, they'll wait him out like they did with Carter. If we've learned anything in the last few weeks, it's that modern polling is utterly worthless. If the "New Reuters poll" is as skewed to the left as the Francesca Hong polling, Trump's approval-disapproval rating is around 53-44 - not stupendous, but still quite good.

Apparently some of us have not learned anything in the last few weeks.

Jupiter చెప్పారు...

When one thinks about "the World", it is natural to see oneself as embedded in a matrix; of family, of friends, of neighbors -- of fellow countrymen.
But it is also possible, to consider oneself as simply a mind, entirely alone in a World full of things pretending to be minds. Perhaps they are minds. How would you know? Ask them?
Possibly, they are akin to you, and you have interests in common with them. But, again. How would you know?

Jupiter చెప్పారు...

This problem is easier to stop worrying about, if not exactly to resolve, if those other minds are in other bodies that resemble your own. Genetically. It is easier to trust members of your own race. When you see a bunch of joggers and floggers and priggers and sloggers, with bones in their noses and lies on their lips -- it's kind of difficult to really believe that it is in your interest to make common cause with them. Having some Democrat enlist them to help him loot your institutions and rape and murder your offspring doesn't help. you kind of start thinking, "This is a problem. A big problem. If this problem has a solution ...".

Jupiter చెప్పారు...

You remember, back in the 20th Century; "If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem". Andrew Young, I think it was. Yeah, we thought that was very enlightened and progressive, back then. Now we're starting to see that what he meant was, "If you're not one of Us, then you're one of Them".

Dr Weevil చెప్పారు...

After posting about the Francesca Hong polling, I found this on Twitter (link):

"A polling firm that came out of nowhere to show Francesca Hong with a 23-point lead over David Crowley in the Wisconsin primary has shut down and said its whole operation was bogus."

Follow the link for more: they claim they were doing a "short-term social experiment".

This guy, Robert Barnes, is a lawyer who represented Trump in the election lawsuits in 2020 and made $500K betting that Trump would beat Hillary. He did this because he ignored the public polls that push agendas and stuck to those he considered able to reliably measure Republican sentiment. This is not somebody who always hated Trump, he turned on Trump around the same time I did, when Trump lost his marbles. He has some interesting polling data. Hint, the only people who support Israel anymore, for one thing, are boomer white evangelicals, mostly the ones over 60.

https://www.tabletmag.com/podcasts/unorthodox/unorthodox-bonus-episode-bob-barnes

So Trump's own lawyer from 2020 says Trump is cooked because he has the Israeli boat anchor tied to his leg. I haven't voted for a Democrat since Jimmy Carter the first time, the second time I voted for Reagan. I don't even consider myself a Republican anymore, like 25% of Trump's former base.

imTay చెప్పారు...

Basically I was a Reagan Democrat, Trump drew a lot of similar voters, they are gone. Trump's appeal has become more selective.

Dr Weevil చెప్పారు...

I support Israel and I have never been an Evangelical, or anything like an Evangelical. More B.S. from the usual sluice.

imTay చెప్పారు...

BTW, the guy doing that last interview with Robert Parnes is Lebanese and supported a deal with Israel and the disarming of Hezbollah until, the past few weeks, Israeli atrocities in Lebanon changed his opinion.

imTay చెప్పారు...

" support Israel and I have never been an Evangelical, or anything like an Evangelical"

I guess I should have been more precise, the only demographic where a majority support Israel, happy?

Jupiter చెప్పారు...

"So Trump's own lawyer from 2020 says Trump is cooked because he has the Israeli boat anchor tied to his leg."

While I agree that supporting Israel is an increasingly problematic position in American politics, it is not clear to me in what sense Trump might be "cooked". He is not a young man, I grant you, but he seems very firmly established in the Presidency, and he and his allies are moving rapidly to implement his agenda. How is he "cooked"?

James K చెప్పారు...

Hezbollah attacked Israel on October 8, 2023, and has been launching drones and missiles ever since. They hide behind civilians, just so fools like Barnes and imTay can blame Israel for civilian casualties in Lebanon.

And Jim Comey’s FBI tried to convert Fang Fang into an FBI informant. That should tell us something about the CHS program under Comey.

John LeFevre
@JohnLeFevre
The FBI framed a sitting US President for treason, dropped an investigation into Eric Swalwell for having an illicit affair with a Chinese spy, planted fake stories with the media and FISA court, and forced Big Tech to censor critics to influence the 2020 election.

And some people still don't think the unelected Deep State is real?

Has anyone else seen the AP report today about a proposal to subsidize liability insurance up to $500,000 for ICE agents and other law enforcement that participates who "are trained and deputized to enforce federal immigration laws. The idea is that individual officers could purchase insurance and the government would subsidize the cost up to $250 annually.

What do we think of this?

rcommal చెప్పారు...

Sorry! Here's the link to Ice pitches legal insurance to help shield local officers who make immigration. The article includes a link to the actual planning document published by the Trump administration on Friday. ICE has requested industry feedback by Thursday.

You're thinking of Eldridge Cleaver, I'm pretty sure--1968, in "Soul on Ice." However, according to AI, there were earlier versions, notably in advertisements for speeches by a (then-)famous American pastor, Harry Emerson Fosdick, in 1936.

the only people who support Israel anymore, for one thing, are boomer white evangelicals, mostly the ones over 60.

That's ridiculous. Most Jews support Israel (obviously).

Most Republicans support Israel. That's one reason the Democrats are so afraid -- all the hatred for Israel rising up in their party is going to make millions of people vote Republican for the first time.

Christians of all stripes support Israel, including Baptists, Methodists, Episcopalians, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and many more.

I would flip it around and suggest that only Islamic fanatics and indoctrinated youth think that Israel is an apartheid state that needs to be wiped out.

Do you support Hamas, imTay?

One of the major industries in the California is the venture capital industry. It's why so many tech companies are located in California.

California is about to vote on a "billionaire tax." The Democrat establishment is dead set against it. The governor of California, Gavin Newsom, was opposed to it. Even the WaPo is against it.

Here's Mark Cuban, Democrat, warning California that start-up founders and investors will leave the state if Prop 40 passes.

"IMO, if this passes, only idiot startup founders stay in Cali," Mark Cuban said. "You can bet if I’m investing in a multi billion dollar startup, I’m asking them to move from California first."

Saint Croix చెప్పారు...
