Also recall- in Michigan the stores that sold paint that were allowed to stay open were only allowed to see pre-mixed paint. Custom colors? The ones people want? OMG- mixing the colorants into the paint then shaking the paint to mix them up would spread covid! But white and beige and a few other colors wouldn't do that. I took the horse paste because, just like every other "cure," nobody knew if it would work, but there was a lot of preliminary evidence from clinical use on substantial numbers. Most importantly to me, unlike other meds, it was known to be safe at even very high doses. The veterinary form is not concentrated for large animals, just the opposite. The human pills are concentrated for ease of ingestion. The veterinary form is diluted and weight-measured with a syringe dispenser that allows you to adjust it to your weight. The human pills are small by comparison and the same for a 96 lb woman or 300 lb man. Six doses of paste would be hard to get down, but six pills would go in one swallow. Ivermectin is one of the safest medications ever created, with decades of use in billions of doses. It's nearly impossible to overdose on it in any form, but if it were, it's the pills that would be much easier. The pills also have more ingredients to wonder about. The warnings from the CDC were flat-out lies. It was either try something that's confirmed to be safe, available, and cheap that might save my life or do nothing because some bozos on TV made fun of it. It was an easy choice.
Now we have the arguments made during the pandemic that if you didn’t defend Fauci’s lies then you didn’t deserve medical treatment. The thing is hundreds of thousands of medical professionals lost their jobs during the pandemic lockdowns because NIH recommended non-emergency procedures be limited to stop the spread. Hospitals and clinics lost revenue resulting in furloughs. This before many others lost their job for refusing the jab.
We all trusted and distrusted science. It was a question of which science and from whom - that's all. Remember when the vaccine was crazy and dangerous right up until the second Trump left office? That's not science I trust, nor the science that says you're safe when sitting but not when standing, or need vaccinated unless you are an illegal immigrant or a protester. It's the people who trusted that science who need to explain why.

I masked when I was explicitly asked at a business. But I never went in with a mask on. Quit going to Trader Joe’s because they had someone at the door. It was good practice. Yes. The vaccines may have worked somewhat in reducing the severity of the virus early on. And then the virus started mutating. By mid summer, 2021 (delta variant), effectiveness was down to 50%, then by the end of the year (Omicron) effectiveness was down to 10%. And never got any better. It took two more years of jabbing with 10% effective Wuhan variant ModRNA vaccines before it was combined with an Omicron version in a “bivalent” vaccines. The whole thing was idiotic. The Wuhan variant vaccine was being used for at least three years after it lost effectiveness.
The way it worked was to prep the immune system with massive amounts of Wuhan variant spike proteins in order to produce massive amounts of Wuhan variant spike antibodies. Which was helpful early on. But then the spike proteins in the circulating variants mutated, and very quickly, the Wuhan spike protein antibodies did essentially nothing against viruses with Omicron variant spike proteins. The insanity is that the vaccination with Wuhan variant spike proteins is what forced the mutation around those spike proteins.
THE covid VACCINE is NOT a vaccine - at best - the covid jab is a therapy.

More importantly, the claim that vaccination “forced” Omicron to evolve isn’t established science. SARS-CoV-2 was mutating rapidly in millions of infected people worldwide—including vast unvaccinated populations. Evolution under immune pressure is real; claiming the vaccines caused the major variants is a very different proposition, and the evidence simply doesn’t support it.
The vaccines didn’t fail because they weren’t perfect forever. They did what vaccines are primarily meant to do: reduce the risk of severe disease while the virus evolved.
If you're going to cite CDC boilerplate at least have the wherewithal to attribute your source. We all know you aren't that bright. Rich.

In today's world, you can find crazy people advocating crazy ideas and taking reasonable ideas too far. That's true for both sides of any issue. But people who went into COVID "trusted the science" and the politicians and talking heads who supported it. They expected the authorities to tell them the truth and the authorities didn't. And those politicians and talking heads who had been trusted earlier went to extremes as crazy and destructive as the wildest of online dissenters they ridiculed.
