Kringles are not just for around Christmas. Uncle Mike’s cherry ones are great this time of year. In fact, they have a seasonal red, white and blue one right now. Tart cherry, blueberry, cream cheese.

Milwaukee-born, I regularly make low-cal Apfelkuchen for my breakfast. Grandma made it better.

I was hoping someone would have Cheesecake as their official state dessert but no one does. Delaware has "peach pie". Texas has "Pecan Pie". South Dakota has something called Kuchen. Vermont has "apple Pie".

Why's life expectancy after 76 many more years ~~ 12+
Wisconsin consistently ranks among the worst states nationwide for its racial and socioeconomic academic achievement gaps. The man in the picture was the Wisconsin Superintendent of Education before he became governor. The sooner he does the sooner black children can receive a quality education.

In other states, people don't stop eating laminated dough pastries in the summer. Every day is a good day for raspberry jam with mascarpone cheese pastry. But we also don't glop them with sugar icing, and they're small. That looks awful. In Atlanta, I had the night-kitchen pleasure of watching the elderly baker, who got in when I did, as he made layers of the stuff, 9' by 6' translucent sheets rippling across the table. Yeah, sure, Mike. Everybody would prefer a nice almond croissant or a nice napoleon but in the upper midwest this is what you get.
You can get a Kringle at almost any supermarket, but have you tried to get a real baguette? Good luck.
