Full context, at Truth Social: "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP"
Hard to believe, but there it is.

It was not developed to take on a non-European role. It got involved in Afghanistan in solidarity with the US but Trump cut and run at the end of his first term undoing the country and handing it back to the Taliban.
The ridiculousness posturing of the Trump's admin in its attempt to drag NATO into a Middle East war is typical of Trump’s contempt and lack concern for allies. They just provide a locus of blame for his stupidly and failures.
"Less government sector work. Less parasitic wealth stealing. Less globalist rot and bloat."
It's going in the right direction, but the rot and bloat is so far gone, it will take a generation of right-minded leadership and guts to make a dent. That's a tough order to fill, but the alternative is decline and eventually it's 476 AD again. I don't expect to see it either way, but I can still dream.
we from both Christina Lambs own memoir as well as Steve Coll's account, that the ISAF method in Afghanistan, was too many cooks, spoiling the Broth, so even a particular region,
like Helmand, was over managed and under staffed,

Fewer learing centers and hospices is a good start.

With 97% recovery rate in CA hospice, I say open more of them. The voodoo and/or black magic seems to work pretty good. Much better than traditional health care.

You a d I may be the only ones here who know who Paul erdman is.
Great novelist. Unlike Robbins, erdman had been there and done that as a Swiss banker in the 60s
Amazing that most of his books are not available on kindle. I love to read Crash of 79 again.
I did reread Silver bears about an Iranian silver scam a couple years back. It holds up well.

The NATO countries are not obliged by their membership in NATO to assist the US in Iran. They are obliged by their self interest to either move in sync with the US or to decide that nonalignment suits them best. Their choice. But you can't help seeing that the NATO nations have shown themselves to be materially weak, politically and culturally decadent, and parasitic upon US strength.
What are they contributing to the alliance besides croissants and national anthems?
"What are they contributing to the alliance besides croissants and national anthems?"
Aside from Muslim grooming gangs? Who knows?
One thing you have to give credit to Trump for: No Neo-con pro-war interventionist has ever surpassed Trump.
"Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius put it most plainly: “What does Donald Trump expect a handful—or even two handfuls—of European frigates to do in the Strait of Hormuz that the most powerful navy in the history of the world cannot do on its own? This is not our war, and we did not start it.”"
We don't expect you to do it all. We do expect you to help. It's in your own best interest, for Christ's sake.
We really do need to leave NATO. I've been ambivalent about this, but not anymore.
"NATO was designed to provide the US with a European buffer and numerical heft against the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact."
Which we no longer need.
Things change.
"We do expect you to help."
And by "help", we mean at the very least "not get in the way".
"We really do need to leave NATO."
Apparently.
Talking like Newsom, the manly man. BFD!
"Which we no longer need."
And Europe no longer offers.
"And by "help", we mean at the very least "not get in the way"."
Yeah, like let us use our bases on your soil which are there to protect you.
We are making new friends, and realigning the focus of the world. That's a good thing, because the world has changed.
The 1st comment from Aggie: "They would prefer the Stone Age to losing face."
That would be better for us too if the decent Iranians can't take power. I hope we do not let the regime remain in any form. I think Trump might settle for completely disarming them and getting the Uranium, but I hope not. I want Iran to be the secular nation it once was when it was great. It would be a highly successful civilization when free of the Islamists. Even better, if it could be the historic turning point away from Islamic fundamentalism everywhere. Long shot, but worth the try, don't you think?
"Treating NATO partners like adversaries for years,
Adversaries? What a deceitful way to frame hectoring NATO to meet their financial obligations.
Adversaries get bombed. Who in NATO have we bombed?
"Trump now expects those same countries to send their frigates into the Strait of Hormuz."
More dishonesty. We're expect to be granted basing and flyover privileges as a courtesy to limit American deaths.
“Everyone here thought I was FOS because I observed the Iranians controlled oil flow out of Hormuz Gap.”
Some think you’re full of shit on general principles and the severe lack of forest/trees acuity
I, for one, note that in closing an international waterway by intentional attacks on civilian vessels, Iran performs both an act of war against every seafaring nation on earth, and also an intentional crime against humanity. That's a two-fer, and deserves a nod of respect for the regime's complete misunderstanding of the modern era. It also deserves more than ever the requirement of unconditional surrender by whoever is left In Iran to wave a white flag.
Well some of risque stylings that were typical of that era
Erdman was banned because he looked behind the curtain
"The landscape is littered with those who misjudged Trump as a clown."
You have an interesting point. The guy is a proven swindler of hard woking Americans (contractors and normal folks, like Trump U people), and his best friend was Epstein, not to mention his F-ing a porn star while his wife was at home w/ a new kid, driving businesses into the ground (and needing his rich dad to bail him out), and so on.
But, people like Bag, i.e., those that worship DJT have never been happier than they are now as they are seeing DJT run our country into the ground fiscally (re gov debt and the normal sorta costs for normal folks) as he gets us into an escalation elevator re another war.
But Bag is happy because DJT is his god.
"Long shot, but worth the try, don't you think?"
Well, how much debt will it take? Seems like we're getting close to forty trillion. Do you think we should have forty two, forty four, fifty, sixty, a hundred trillion in debt? Keep in mind all of this cost comes with an interest payment that needs to be paid.
Is there some point when we should start to think the cost to the US is not worth it? In your opinion?

Only a retard would confuse what Trump is doing with the Neocon misuse of the US military.
The action in Iran is the complete opposite of the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. Those invasions started by Bush and "managed" by Obama and consummated by Biden after the 202o election was stolen were complete betrayals of the people like me who joined the army to help our country. The entire Bush clan and the Neocon establishment are traitors.
It is clear now that the Bush clan and their Obama administration allies were all building Iran into the force that could dominate the straight of hormuz and destabilize the region. They clearly had traitorous intent to undermine the United States and betray the people that elected them to globalist powers.
There are at least 100,000 people in DC that need to hang for this.
"Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius put it most plainly: “What does Donald Trump expect a handful—or even two handfuls—of European frigates to do in the Strait of Hormuz that the most powerful navy in the history of the world cannot do on its own? Answer that question. I’ll wait."
You use Iranian, don't you? Yes? Well. Get some skin in the game. Because it is your war.
Now go run along, rich. The grownups are debating.

Improper framing.
Western Europe needs to be treated like a hostile conquered territory and the leadership replaced. The leadership of Western Europe is evil and betraying and persecuting the people they lead.
The Starmer Regime has put more people in jail for speech violations than Russia by orders of magnitude. Germany has unleashed antifa thugs to murder and intimidate afd opposition.
It is long past time to recognize what Western Europe and the EU have become.
Aren't the Euroweenies committed to Net Zero? Seems to me, a closed strait is conducive to that goal.
1. Iranian death cult spends 47 years genocidally attacking one and all, including Iranian citizens, and funding other crazed genocidal death cults to kill and destroy.
2. Iranian death cult spends 47 years attempting to obtain nuclear weaponry and ballistic missiles to genocidally attack one and all, but especially the US and even more so Israel.
3. Iranian death cult, shortly after the Iranian nuclear weapons program was bombed successfully although deep under a literal mountain, and after mere annoyance Venezuela was toppled overnight, tells the most powerful military force on earth, and those guys' bestest buddy, that the mullahs have enough 60% enriched uranium for 10 or 11 warheads, and yes they still won't stop 1 & 2. Nyah, nyah, nyah, probably thrown in for good measure.
4. When US & Israel stop Iranian ballistic missile programs, nuclear weapons programs, international terrorist programs, the Iranian death cult kills ~45,000 Iranians who suggest mullahs reconsider 1, 2, 3.
5. Iranian mullahs attack civilians from Crete south, and close shipping lanes.
6. Trump is a monster because he used naughty words, on a Catholic holy day.
I'd call people yelling about 6 insane, but the crazies worldwide would object.
Really?!
Yes, really. No more than Ukraine taking down the Kerch Strait bridge would be equivalent to the razing of Dresden—which was also a military target, as were Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Trump was being sarcastic with his Allah comment... I am fond of saying, "Aloha Snackbar"....
I think the real message from Germany is, "“What does Donald Trump expect a handful—or even two handfuls—of European frigates to do in the Strait of Hormuz? [After all a handful of frigates is more than the Euro/NATO countries can actually field. And it's not in our interest to demonstrate this to the world. And please don't ask about our combat ready aircraft.]"
Couple the above nonsense that Patton would be rolling over in his grave with the US is "advocating war crimes, which destroying civilian infrastructure undoubtedly is."
Do ANY of you idiots think Patton would/did not blow up a bridge or railroad tracks or factories or....
The Stupid burns, it BURNS!
Yes, Freder is self hating leftist. I suspect that he likes the-fact that the Americans and Israelis try to stay within the Geneva Conventions, while their enemies consider us patsies for doing so. They don’t wear uniforms, because that would give away that they were enemy combatants. They build IRGC facilities next to girls schools, To protect the IRGC facilities, and noT the girls. Their paid surrogates store missiles under hospitals, to protect the missiles, and not the hospitals. Then laugh at us because we hesitate to violate Freder’s conception of the Geneva Conventions. They see themselves as the strong horse, because they are strong enough to ignore the Geneva Conventions, while we are not. And we aren’t strong enough to just kill all the Freders in our midst.
“The ridiculousness posturing of the Trump's admin in its attempt to drag NATO into a Middle East war is typical of Trump’s contempt and lack concern for allies. They just provide a locus of blame for his stupidly and failures”
We don’t need the Straits opened. They do. We don’t ship the oil, gas, and nitrogen fertilizer we need through the Strait. They do. We are close to self sufficient in all those areas. They are not. I would be just fine, cutting western adrift, to pay $100 a barrel, when we are paying $50 a barrel.
Instead of thanking us for saving their bacon, once again, they respond by denying us use of our NATO bases in those countries. And deny us the use of the few small navy ships they still have. Those small ships would be used to clear the mines Iran has laid in the Strait, and to escort the large tankers that bring oil, gas, and nitrogen fertilizer to them.
Lil-Ex: NATO was designed to provide the US with a European buffer and numerical heft against the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact."
Wrong. No surprise there. Particularly the buffer part — we have the Atlantic for that.
NATO was designed to keep the USSR out, USA in, and the Germans down.
Biden couldn't speak extemporaneously without sounding like a 2 year old, but OMG, tRUMP said the F word. That's a big fucking deal. Seriously?
