Speaking of COVID, I keep running my 20" cube Merv 14 boxfan air filtration system 24/7 in my house. It's in the kitchen, the biggest source of particulates and the heat and ventilation draws air from all over the house. Installed five new filters last week. I would make a bet that way more than 90% of the regular people, not the propaganda merchants, who claim that criticizing Israel's genocide in Gaza, its actions in the West Bank and Lebanon, is somehow "antisemitic," don't have any close Jewish friends, because Jewish Americans mostly agree with Bernie Sanders, also Jewish, and he is as harsh on Israel as I am.
BTW, if you hate Bernie, that's kind of antisemitic, isn't it? Because a lot of Jewish people agree with him on a lot of things. But if you don't have any friends in the tribe, you probably don't know that.

A couple weeks ago a fundraising event was held for the ACLU in NYC.
The event featured drag queens cosplaying as Erika Kirk, Melania Trump, and others.
The event centered around mocking Charlie Kirk and making fun of his widowed wife.
Over $25k was raised.
A GoFundMe to raise money from anyone who couldn't attend (and it seems from similar events in the past) - organized by the same drag queen who led the event - featured the ACLU's logo, meaning that such things are apparently endorsed by the ACLU.
Videos posted of the events got hundreds of thousands of likes and comments from many on the Left who support mocking people assassinated for their political views.

Jimmy Kimmel thinks he's being a brave comedian by employing edgy humor. Well - he would call it edgy, others would call it intentionally hurtful, raising the prospect of harm over a President who had already suffered two serious assassination attempts, and now has suffered three.
Jimmy also enjoys protective cover while he does this. Jimmy thinks that doing something that is hurtful and at the expense of others, while trusting that his protective cover will hold, is a brave act. Jimmy thinks that 'placing trust' in this way, is a brave act, in and of itself. So he's outraged when people point out the inappropriate humor. 'But I'm funny and I'm brave !'
I subscribed to Vanity Fair in the hopes of seeing photos from last night’s state dinner. No such luck. I did read an article about the news correspondents gala:

Europe must reassess just what future military requirements are in light of experience in Ukraine and the Middle East. One does not want to over-invest in yesterday's military assets. Tomorrow is very different from yesterday; that is what today's wars are teaching.
Germany should focus on being able to deter and contend with and defeat air threats emanating from Russia or elsewhere from the east. Air defense is the central challenge.
The future is more techy, more autonomous, more small and light. Air defense becomes a crucial area undergoing reinvention.
Europe must develop European competencies. Being reliant on American weapons systems is both expensive and potentially crippling. Reliability is now a permanent liability of America.
Europe needs a European-conceived strategy for how Europe defends itself and its international interests.
