Crosshairs!

I see Matt Taibbi has a piece titled "Barack Obama Now Squarely in Russiagate Crosshairs/New disclosures from a Tulsi Gabbard-led working group point directly to the top, as the legacy of 'Hope and Change' begins a plunge to the ocean floor."

I do not like the overheated metaphor, especially the evocation of assassination.

And the use of "begins" before "plunge to the ocean floor" shows how silly it is. What is the beginning of "a plunge to the ocean floor"? Breaking the surface? It calls to mind a tumble from a paddleboard. How far down is "the ocean floor"? 8 feet?

It would be constructive to have a single set of standards for everyone to apply to this type of rhetoric, then hold everyone to those standards equally to all offenders. As it stands the selective application of judgement only serves to enflame political division. I propose a week at Bretton Woods or Jackson Hole for debate and resolution…

I like Taibbi, even if he is often very rough on Trump (“Insane Clown President”). This Obama post is unusual for him. It seems almost entirely speculative, and seems to assume that prosecutions are sure to come, which I doubt. Yeah, I have no doubt that Russia collusion was hatched in the Oval Office, but the conspirators, especially Obama, will not be indicted. Taibbi must be holding back much more material.

Look for the Right to do what they always do, go off on some tanget or talk about how we should do this or that. Or mutter about "What's our end game?".

RIght now, we need more facts and information. And we need details and analysis. The American public need to be informed that there is rock solid evidence Obama, Comey, etc. conspired to destroy Trump through Russiagate. And the message needs to be hammered home.

Tulsi wouldn’t have mentioned handing over the evidence to DOJ unless they were ready and willing to prosecute, according to another blogging lawyer. Over 120 documents declassified and released. This isn’t going away. IMO If actual prosecution or plea deals (the DOJ specialty) are not forthcoming this will sink Trump’s credibility with the base.

Leaving the area of the surface — at the surface or just below — yes. Obviously.

I remember “Hope and Change.” Way before 2008 it was common in business circles to intone “hope is not a strategy” in business strategy meetings. And anyone could tell you that “change” is easy. Change that makes things better for ordinary people, now that’s pretty hard. Turns out improving people’s lives was something Obama was incapable of doing (and not at all interested in doing, either).

Assuming tha Obama really was behind the “Russia, Russia, Russia” hoax there needs to be some sort of punishment. It doesn’t have to be the rest of his life behind bars in Leavenworth, but it has to be something and it has to sting. Otherwise we will have made it perfectly legitimate for a President to harass and attempt to hamstring his successor every time the Presidency changes parties. Surely you see that, Professor? We simply cannot have that.

Like their other cherished Trump Mythology this is a much beloved talking point for braindead democrat voters. The actual plan laid out by lawyer John Eastman was to reject the votes and send them back for a recount in dispute states that violated SOP.

Of course Democrats who fought tooth and claw to recount Florida in 2000 argued such recounts now would somehow destroy democracy! Pence of course was sympathetic to the idea of certifying a loss seeing as he is a Uniparty Regular.

Ann knew all this though. She is just being forced to say it out loud and acknowledge that all of those Deplorable Trump supporters she snooted down to her whole life were right.

She has a lot of courage to do this.

And Barrack is a traitor. Barrack Obama worked with a Russian Spy to build a fake case against the President elect in order to frame him for colluding with Russia to steal the 2016 election.

Obama conspired with thousands of people leading the largest government in the world who also conspired with the people who owned the largest corporations in the world to censor and spy on and persecute his political opponents.

Nobody can argue with any of this. It is on public record. Obama tried to implement a National Socialist Regime in the US and he worked with Russian spies as well as domestic enemies of our country to do it. Thousands of people including Hillary Clinton who took Billions of Dollars from foreign Regimes.

Obama is the definition of a traitor. For that matter so is Hillary and thousands of other people in Washington DC. Traitors can hang or get shot so crosshairs are the perfect term here. His sense of righteous outrage shines through, even if it is a little overdone on this particular subject - He's a born & bred Massachusetts liberal who has had the integrity to examine his beliefs, and even better, their premises.

He's finally seeing the government doing something to correct past wrongs, ones that he has long been covering, undefended. He was one of the first to shine a light on the Biden practice of cancelling private citizens, removing their access to social media, using the long arm of informal government pressure. He's not a Trump supporter, but he has been stalwart in supporting Trump's rights. I wish we had 2 dozen more journalists like him. This misses the forest for the trees.

Trump found out that the people are mad. He tried to brush aside the Epstein case and learned that the people want crime punished.

If Trump fails to prosecute this someone will make it their central plank in 2028 and they will win because the people correctly understand that this must be punished or it will happen again.

Fixing the economy and bringing peace are great. But Biden and the people using him as a puppet demonstrated they can turn it all back by stealing one election.

Flynn is making a pretty good case for himself in 2028 right now. If Trump fails the logical next step is the ghost of Pinochet.

MAGA supporters are in a frenzy, caught in a fever dream. They imagine Obama, Comey, and Clapper facing treason trials in "military tribunals." Yet, they struggle to articulate the alleged crimes and fail to distinguish between direct interference, like hacking voting machines, and indirect actions, such as spreading lies through fake social media accounts.

A bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee investigation and the 2019 Mueller report corroborated Russian interference, contradicting Gabbard’s narrative that the Obama administration fabricated the issue. I would also note the timing of her claims, suggesting they distract from scrutiny over Trump’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

While Gabbard’s allegations resonate with MAGA/QAnon types, they rely heavily on selective interpretation of declassified documents and lack conclusive evidence of a “treasonous conspiracy.” The broader intelligence community and bipartisan investigations confirm Russian interference, undermining her claims. Gabbard's assertions appear more politically driven than factually grounded.

"Eight feet isn’t the ocean floor - it’s the continental shelf at best."

I asked Grok: "What counts as the "ocean floor" — how close to the shore?"

Grok said: "The ocean floor, or seafloor, refers to the bottom of the ocean, encompassing all submerged surfaces below sea level. It’s generally defined as the seabed extending from the shoreline (where the ocean meets land) to the deepest parts of the ocean, like the abyssal plains or trenches. How close to the shore it starts depends on the coastal geography: Technically, the ocean floor begins right at the shoreline, where water covers the seabed, even if it’s just a few centimeters deep.
In practice, the seafloor is often discussed in terms of distinct zones:Intertidal zone: From the high-tide mark to the low-tide mark, sometimes exposed during low tide.
Nearshore or littoral zone: Extends from the low-tide mark to where waves no longer significantly affect the seabed (typically a few meters to tens of meters deep, often within 1-2 km of shore). Beyond this, the continental shelf (gently sloping, up to ~200 meters deep) is still considered part of the ocean floor, extending anywhere from a few kilometers to hundreds of kilometers offshore, depending on the region. For example, in places like the U.S. East Coast, the continental shelf might stretch 100-200 km offshore before dropping into deeper waters, while in steep coastal areas like parts of Chile, it may be much closer to shore."

Alleged Crime: Obama, Hillary and co-conspirators worked with a known Russian spy to build a dossier that they used to start an investigation into the President Elect.

During this investigation they:

- Lied to the FISA court in order to spy on people they knew were innocent.
- Leaked information they stole through this illegal spying to the Corporate press that conspired with them.
- Coerced/Conspired with the largest corporations in the world to censor political opponents.
- Persecuted people they knew were innocent like General Flynn and Roger Stone.
- Attacked the Executive Branch of our government and undermined it's ability to do it's constitutional duty on behalf of foreign and domestic enemies using a case they knew was a lie from the start. The definition of Treason

I see Bich is lying again. There was exactly one real event in the 2016 election for which there might have been some doubt that the Russians might have been involved and might have affected the outcome of the election- the stealing and releasing of the DNC e-mails by Wikileaks. However, there was and always has been no actual evidence the Russians hacked the DNC. Julian Assange has stated many times that he did not receive the e-mails from the Russian Government or any Russian. Far from Mueller demonstrating Assange is wrong and/or lying, the Mueller Report states explicitly that they had nothing but suspicion- they could never find out who gave Assange the files nor how that someone got the files. In other words, if I said the e-mails were given to Assange by the British government, I have exactly as much evidence for this claim that Mueller disclosed in his report supporting the assertion it was done by the Russian government.

As for other Russian involvement in the 2016 election, there was some evidence Russian linked organizations spent a small amount of funds (well under $200,000) on internet ads/memes that might be interpreted as supporting Donald Trump but could have equally been interpreted as not supporting him. However, given the one opportunity to try a case against one of these entities they accused, the Mueller team chickened out and eventually dropped those charges.

On the Steele Dossier, the FBI and CIA knew in the Summer of 2016 exactly who paid for it and created it. They knew by the end of 2016 that it was 100% bullshit since they actually interviewed the guy who gave Steele the stories and that guy admitted that he made it all up and never thought it was going to be taken seriously. However, even knowing the identities of Steele's paymasters, the Clinton Campaign, they went to the FISA court to get wiretap on Carter Page but when it came to the section where they had to offer corroboration of the Steele Dossier they cited Michael Kinsley's article from September of 2016 discussing some of the allegations even though the FBI agents knew that Kinsley had used Steele as a source- in other words they lied to the judge about the corroboration and it wasn't the only lie the told to get that surveillance warrant- they also deliberately mischaracterized Page's past work with the FBI. Mueller's team spent essentially no time at all investigating the Steele Dossier allegations because they knew it was bullshit. Mueller's investigative team spent the entire 2 years trying to prove Trump was committing obstruction by firing Comey and attacking them in the press, all the while the Mueller team itself was leaking to the press.

In summary, the Obama Administration made up the entire basis for the FBI investigating Trump at all and they knew they were lying which is what the information Gabbard released on Friday proves and it also proves that this was done at the order of Obama himself- without that order nothing that was done to Trump and his associates would have occurred. However, you don't to believe what I wrote above- just read the fucking Mueller Report.

I thought the SC immunity decision made that pretty clear, even if they didn't completely delineate what would be considered official.

To the contrary, I think it was something approaching a soft coup, but I also know the Supreme Court’s Trump immunity ruling will make it impossible prosecute or even investigate.

And in protecting Obama and all of the DC traitors the Supreme Court will sacrifice it's last vestiges of integrity and authority.

In the long run the Supreme Court will have as much success stopping justice as Trump had ignoring the Epstein files.

Ketanji Brown Jackson and Sotomayor are doing an excellent job making the Court look like a partisan hack globalist tool right now.

Roberts has made some of the worst decisions in the Court's history and everyone hates him. Roberts is also complicit in the FISA court abuse that allowed Obama to spy on his political opponents.

Hopefully this will result in the court being put in it's proper constitutional place sooner rather than later and a couple of these "Justices" can be impeached. Roberts first.

Of course you are missing something, Jim53IQ. There was never a conspiracy between the Trump Campaign and the piddling suspicions that the Russian government might have bought a couple of hundred thousand dollars worth of bot farm engagement on U.S. social media platforms- something, by the way, that was never actually proven by the Mueller prosecutors- it was simply asserted to be linked to the Russian government and the funds might well have not even been Russian at all- no one knew then or afterwards. The material asserted to have been bought/pushed wasn't even clearly illegal either for those same reasons. Had the new intel assessment been based only on that social media content, your assertion would be true but the new assessment didn't stop there- it drug in the Steele Dossier because that is all they had to connect Trump to the Russian government but they already knew in the Summer of 2016 that the Steele Dossier had no actual facts in it- it was 100% fabricated. In short, they were lying in January 2017 and the knew they were lying.

There is also a much deeper backstory to this new information- the efforts to entrap the Trump Campaign with three different approaches-

(1)Joeseph Mifsud's story told to George Papadopoulos about the Russians having DNC e-mails along with Papadopoulos repeating this story to Alexander Downing who then, alledgedly telling the FBI which is claimed to have ignited Crossfire Hurricane. However, the Mueller Report goes to great lengths to ask no questions or make no guesses about Joseph Mifsud- but it turns out that Mifsud has known connections to British intelligence agencies and even works at a school used by the CIA for training courses.

(2) Stephan Halper who was literally sent by the FBI to try to catch Carter Page admitting to being a Russian agent.

(3) And this one is a guess, but the Trump Tower meeting with the Russian lawyer Veselniskaya who told the campaign she had dirt on the Clinton Campaign and at the meeting had nothing but wanted help on a completely different matter at which time the meeting was terminated. Why do I think this was the FBI. Because she got special permission to enter the U.S. from the Obama State Department and the Mueller investigation does literally no investigation or her. Given this meeting took place shortly after Crossfire Hurricane was officially launched, it is very likely the meeting was wiretapped- the Mueller team did a full interrogation of Trump Jr. and Kushner, I suspect, in an attempt to catch them in a lie about the meeting.

There is no answer. Only cowardice. If a people will not confront evil and punish evil they do not deserve the freedom they have.

The United States is unique in the world because we believe in equal protection under the law. We believe in building a social contract that requires consistent moral principles and we understand that in order to maintain a system where everyone feels represented we must punish bad actors.

If there are no sanctions for evil then evil will prevail. It has prevailed everywhere else for the entirety of history.

If Obama and his cronies do not face Justice then our Republic is doomed to fail. Everyone will see what the incentives are and everyone will be corrupt and evil like Obama.

A society only holds together if you suppress the incompatible. If you allow a certain type of behavior you become what you allow. Obama is incompatible with a democratically elected Republican form of government and freedom in general.

Obama has hundreds of millions of dollars and multiple Mansions all over the country. Obama will be the example for how politicians act in the future no matter what the outcome of this is.

And now Matt Taibbi is frothing at the mouth because Tulsi supposedly proves that the FBI didn't support findings on Russiagate, wherein Russia was involved in helping Trump in the 2016 election. But just as she conveniently denied supporting Putin, she conflated that spooks thought Russia hacked the US voting tabulation infrastructure with the Intelligence Community's lack of confidence that Russia was involved in the hack of the DNC and DCCC. Voting tabulation and FBI speculation are not the same thing.

Recall that an Intercept.com report described Russian military attempts to interfere with the 2016 presidential election by hacking a U.S. voting software supplier and by sending spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials just days before the November 8 election. The story was based on a top-secret May 5, 2017, National Security Agency (NSA) document leaked to them anonymously. Also, know that NSA's source was from Dutch Intelligence monitoring the Russian government hacker "Cozy Bear." Robert Mueller's subsequent investigation resulted in the indictment of 12 Russians.

Donoghue emphasized the quote was "exact".

The quote emphasizes Trump's alleged efforts to pressure Justice Department officials to falsely declare the election corrupt. It implies that Trump believed he could use this declaration to influence the outcome with the help of Republican members of Congress. The Justice Department, however, found no evidence of widespread voter fraud sufficient to overturn the election result.

Gabbard's claims, based on declassified documents, allege Obama and officials manipulated intelligence to undermine Trump, but these are contested by Democrats as baseless and a distraction from Epstein-related scrutiny. Multiple investigations, including a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report, found no evidence of such a conspiracy, affirming Russia's 2016 election interference.' ~ GROK

And regarding this:

"where the president can invite an illegal invasion",

there's this:

Off-duty CBP officer shot in face during robbery at NYC park by suspect ID’d as illegal migrant, career criminal – who got freed after every bust

"At the time of his arrest for the shooting, Mora was wanted on kidnapping and weapons charges out of Massachusetts related to a robbery at a pawn shop, sources said.

He also had at least four arrests in New York City — where he was let go without bail each time, according to the sources."

“We have whistleblowers, actually, Maria, coming forward now, after we released these documents,” Gabbard said. “There are people who were around, who were working within the Intelligence Community at this time, who were so disgusted by what happened. We are starting to see some of them coming out of the woodwork.”

Shouting Thomas wrote (based on reporting from Scott Adams) that "The purported cartoon on a greeting card sent by Trump to Epstein has not been published anywhere, not even in the “blockbuster” WSJ editorial. There is no evidence it exists. The editorial quotes only “anonymous” sources. It’s all fake news."

It appears, in fact, that the drawing has been published in the German online newspaper, Die Bildzeitung. Here is the link to the story (in German) and the image:

Don't get your hopes up like the Rachel Maddow Morning Joe hopefuls who jumped for joy that Trump was on the verge of prison every week for nearly a decade of failed Democratic prosecutions.

In fact, it's Bullshit to the nth.

Who has authenticated the drawing and its provenance?

Your gullibility is stupendous, Steven. Ditto your stupidity.

Kaka, you dope: just because Dems contest Tulsi's documents and their obvious implications doesn't mean there IS no evidence. The docs themselves are "evidence", but not "proof".

Effinayright, perhaps you should actually read my post before insulting me. I made no claims as to the authenticity of the drawing or that Trump had produced it. I will admit to having mistakenly described this as being the image in question, when the full article in the German newspaper actually indicates that this is the newspaper's interpretation of what was described by the WSJ. I had seen the article earlier and only scanned over it because I find the whole uproar absurd and thus had failed to note that it was a sketch based on the WSG's, not the actual image allegedly seen by the WSJ. I posted it because, being under the misimpression that this was the actual image, I thought others would be interested in seeing the image. While I wrongly described the image as the one described by the WSJ, I never made any other claims about it.

He's enjoying free speech while he's got it.

Taibbi is a former reporter for Rolling Stone and a Bernie bro who was red-pilled when he reported on the Twitter files, and suddenly the Biden administration opened up an IRS investigation into him.

He's a great journalist, in my opinion. Well worth the subscription fee. I have a free one to give if somebody wants one.

Richkak (rhymes with Hitchcock) had all day and still couldn't get the story straight. Pence's position was that the plain reading of the law was wrong. Where it outlines the VP role in "certifying" the vote, he claimed the act was purely ceremonial. This is exactly the Democrat position too unexpectedly. Pence claimed Trump's interpretation via Eastman was incorrect not an illegal power grab.

Yet just a month later Pelosi rammed through a change in election law that explicitly changed the VP role to a ceremonial one, tacitly admitting the law at the time DID afford Pence discretion in certifying or rejecting the state tallies. If bichkak's fantasy version was true then why change the law at all?

Not one lefty has ever been able to explain that chain of events.

Ah the return of fake but accurate, meaning the correct evidence was manufactured for the story not the other way around.

When Taibbi gets on a story, I believe it's credible. We don't share political camps, but I have great respect for his work.

It would be ironic that Obama was careless enough to fall into a Clinton pothole. But fitting, given how much he was elevated above his capacities -- the normal ones. He isn't at all stupid, just so egotistical and ideological and fellated by the media that he couldn't imagine anything but praise.

Lazarus చెప్పారు...

It's astounding that Obama was told that foreign actors didn't have a significant effect on the election results and then two days later he's having a meeting to investigate whether foreign actors affected the election results. His defense might be that the agencies told him that Russians may not have helped Trump but that there were still rumors and questions about whether Trump was helping the Russians or working for them. I doubt he'll be put on trial.
