I only said "mean stuff" about over-hyped Russian military equipment. I studied Russian for 4 years, love Russian literature and culture, and, most of all, loved the Russian students I used to tutor at the Writing Center at Loyola Chicago. They were among the smartest, most self-disciplined, and insightful people I've ever met.
That Russia can produce tons of people like that and still only produce crap military technology shows how both Communism and dictatorship are grotesque failures. To create, maintain, and effectively use something like the B2 you need a system that rewards creativity and invention rather than mindless conformity and toadying, one in which the factory worker or engineer can tell his superiors that something is wrong, or that the subcontractor is not good enough, or that the machine can only be used for X hours in a row, etc. --and be listened to and then be rewarded for being right. That doesn't happen under Communism or dictatorship because sucking up and being a yes-man is what gets rewarded. (By the way, that dynamic is among the many things that made both the Obama and Biden administrations suck--telling the truth got you demoted; only toadying paid off).
(By the way, all the "consolidations" in our own Defense industry and the incredibly shitty management culture that we have everywhere risks doing the same thing to American military equipment. The B2 came out of the Skunk Works, and Patriot is 1970s technology with better computers. Trump needs to break up the defense-tech mergers and reduce the bureaucracy there. He could start by forbidding retired flag officers from taking jobs at defense companies.

I seriously wonder what happened to you in life to make you such an unethical, bitter person.
Trump quite literally lanced a chronic festering boil on the butt of the world. Calming the flaming flesh will take a little time. The ceasefire is a big step toward that but it’s possible things will erupt again. I think it’s ok to enjoy the current state of relief, acknowledging its own frailty.
Trump’s goal is to turn Iran into a functioning and productive state. You accomplish that by praising them when they do something to demonstrate progress along those lines, whether you trust them or not.
Among the more bizarre phenomena of this whole bizarre episode is all the putatively "anti-war" people, those who desperately did not want the US to become involved in "Israel's war," are now practically foaming at the mouth hoping that Iran breaks the ceasefire.
It is a big world out there, and not EVERY SINGLE THING THAT HAPPENS needs to be evaluated solely as to whether or not it seems to give "your" team in a win in terms of American domestic politics in today's News Cycle.

If Israel does run short of anti-missile armaments they will, of course suffer more from any Iranian attacks. But Israel certainly does have an obvious response. The air space above Iran is essentially owned by Israel. They have been very careful in their targeting so far. But they have also demonstrated amazingly detailed knowledge of the inner workings of Iran. So the no "obvious response" could include more of the leadership, power plants, ships, docks, oil rigs, pipelines and more.
Crippling the Iranian economy (further) and demonstrating an ability to shut off a major source of the oil China NEEDS is doable. It might well be far greater damage to Iran than they can dole out.
