"But as Conor Cruise O’Brien, an Irish writer and politician, noted, 'Antisemitism is a light sleeper.' It tends to re-emerge..."

"... when societies become polarized and people go looking for somebody to blame. This pattern helps explain why antisemitism began rising, first in Europe and then in the United States, in the 2010s, around the same time that politics coarsened.... The political right, including President Trump, deserves substantial blame....  Mr. Trump himself praised as 'very fine people' the attendees of a 2017 march in Charlottesville, Va., that featured the chant 'Jews will not replace us.' On Jan. 6, 2021, at least one rioter attacking the Capitol screamed that he was looking for 'the big Jew,' referring to Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, Mr. Schumer has said.... Joe Rogan, the podcaster who endorsed Mr. Trump last year, has hosted Holocaust conspiracy theorists on his show. Mr. Rogan once said of Jews, 'They run everything.'... [Antisemitism also] has a home on the progressive left.... They have failed to denounce antisemitism in the unequivocal ways that they properly denounce other bigotry.... Americans should be able to recognize the nuanced nature of many political debates while also recognizing that antisemitism has become an urgent problem. It is a different problem — and in many ways, a narrower one — than racism. Antisemitism has not produced shocking gaps in income, wealth and life expectancy in today’s America. Yet the new antisemitism has left Jewish Americans at a greater risk of being victimized by a hate crime than any other group.... No political arguments or ideological context can justify that bigotry...."

Notice that the NYT has tweaked its version of the "fine people hoax" so that it's not as vulnerable to the criticism that it's a "hoax": "Mr. Trump himself praised as 'very fine people' the attendees of a 2017 march in Charlottesville, Va., that featured the chant 'Jews will not replace us.' "

There are "attendees" who may have been VFP according to Trump and the "march" "featured the chant."

It's still a problem because the march with the chant was a lesser included part of the overall event that drew people to Charlottesville.

Antisemitism is rooted in the fact that around 4000 years ago God made promises to a man named Abraham. A man found to be just in Gods eyes. You may certainly disagree that such an encounter ever took place. Whether or not it happened is immaterial, only that significant portion of the world believes it happened. To point to the business acumen of one people group for such a length of time yields only 2 possibilities:
They actually are Gods chosen people, or they are world class crooks. Either possibility can bring nothing but contempt from a majority of the world’s population.
That the world hates the Jews is not in question. The world which hates them is forced to forever dance around the truth, but never actually acknowledge it.
That’s the future.

Temujin చెప్పారు...

Again with the 'very fine people' tack?
We all know this was taken completely out of context, right? We all know this. Everyone knows this. Yet...the left recites it as if it was an offering in a daily prayer, as part of a dogma to recite on a regular basis.

And to lay antisemitism at the feet of the right these days is inaccurate, but not completely wrong. There's plenty to go around and the good thing for people like me is that since October 7, it's become clear who is who. I make no mistakes about it, now we all know where we all stand.

But over the last couple of decades, there can be no doubt that the left has been the home of antisemitism- birthed on our college campuses, nurtured, grown, and thriving. To be a Jew on a major college campus these days is to be very low profile or expect to be attacked.
The marriage of Marxism with antisemitism was to be expected. It just took a bit of time here in the US. But it's in full bloom now.
As for the right...well...I've heard enough from the Dave Smiths and Tucker Carlsons to last me forever. Theirs is more insidious because they do the kind of thing the best manipulators do: Mix a lot of truth in with a bit of some key bullshit or lies. So you grab your listener with some truths, some things you know they want to believe anyway, then you add in that extra layer of...manipulated hate. And for those already predisposed to those leanings, well...Gotcha!

As for guys like Former Law Clerk, well...you're getting it all off your chest today, eh? The only thing you've left off (but it's still early) is me drinking my daily glass of Christian blood.

Jesus was a Jew. I'll leave you to explain yourself to Him when you get there. As for AIPAC, I don't pay a whit of attention to it. And if you're shocked that there's a lobbying group representing a specific ethnic group or nation or interest, well...get out more. See the world more. Expand on what you read or see or hear. FYI- AIPAC is not the only one playing that game and fighting for their interests. EVERYONE is doing this.
We can discuss if its right or wrong, but to use that as your excuse for the hate you were taught as a kid, well...that's pretty much bullshit. Your hate is on you. Or your parents. Take it up with them. I grew up surrounded by guys like you. They never did seem very Christian to me.

And, of course, good Jews have to prove how good a Jew they are by ritually hating Donald Trump. He has three Jewish grandchildren, whom he loves, and they are Orthodox, living in a family that keeps kosher, not “ham and cheese sandwiches” Reform Jews.

Trump supports Israel and fights antisemitism, and he does so despite knowing in advance that he will get no credit for it. If any hard core Jews could pull their heads out of their ass long enough to look, they’d realize that Trump is a mensch.

Since I was at that time a competitive shooter, I imagine I could go a lot to protect them.

And he laughed in my face. He was well-connected in Democrat politics and imagined that nothing could ever happen to him because of his Jewishness.

I thought that a fundamental principal of Christianity is that Jesus Christ died for your sins. If that had not occurred, what would happen to your religion?

I heard their chant as "You will not replace us" as it was originally understood and reported.

@Lurker, me too. In fact the first time I saw I saw the Tiki-Torch chant mis-transcribed as “Jews will not replace us” it took me back to the scene in “Annie Hall” where nebbish Woody Allen complains that people aren’t saying “would you,” they’re saying “would Jew.”

Remember when Israel destroyed the infrastructure of government in Syria and turned the state over to the head choppers? The new leader of Syria had a $10 million dollar price on his head, but now he's A-OK!

Remember when we destroyed civil government in Afghanistan, Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor admitted this, BTW, and no we have handed over the government of that country to the head choppers?

Remember when we overthrew Qaddafi and handed Libya over to the head choppers?

Why wasn't it a big story a month ago when Pakistan's defense minister said that it had stained its national honor by helping the US by supporting jihadi terrorism? I thought that 9-11 was a huge deal, but when a story like this comes out, that Pakistan, which was sheltering bin Laden when we killed him, was supporting terrorism at our request, this seems like kind of a big deal. But nah! Snooze.

Remember when a former Israeli government official said that ISIS had apologized to Israel for killing an IDF soldier? Yeah, the same ISIS that carried out that bloody attack in Moscow, and that seems to only attack enemies of the West? Nobody cares.

What do you think the plan is in Iran? Do you think that once the infrastructure is destroyed, it won't fall into the hands of head chopper warlords? Will slave markets open up where women are sold to the highest bidder like Libya? They will probably start wearing the hijabs voluntarily once the head choppers are put in place by the West to terrorize them, as has happened in so many other countries that have come to our attention.

But yeah, to criticize any of it is "antisemitism," the accusation of which is always sleeping lightly, and awakens whenever criticism of Western policies need to be silenced.

"I heard their chant as "You will not replace us" as it was originally understood and reported."

The guy who organized the Charlottesville protests was a Hillary supporter, who had posted his blog admiration for and the need to engage in agent provocateur tactics. Charlottesville was a psy-op, and the cool thing about psy-ops, is that it is so easy to accuse anybody who points it out as being "crazy'," no matter the evidence. Same with J-6, a psy-op, a direct copy of the Reichstag Fire, and undertaken for the same kinds of reasons.

Jaq చెప్పారు...

Normal people have a hard time believing that sociopaths and psychopaths exist, and sociopaths learn from a young age how to manipulate people with normal human emotional responses. Sociopaths are drawn to power and are extremely good at the kind of machiavellian manipulations required to attain it.

Both sides lie relentlessly and their supporters here repeat the official versions without skepticism, so it's natural that people now want to disengage from the Middle East.

The generation of Moshe Dayan understood that force had much to do with the creation of Israel and that force would sustain and preserve it. That's something to bear in mind before signing on to Douglas Murray's Great War for Civilization.

Do old line WASPs really hate the Jews? Are there really any old line WASPs left? Once Jews and WASPs were bitter rivals and the WASPs felt that rivalry. Nowadays, intermarriage seems to be quite common among secular Jews and secular WASPs.

Nahhh, can't be related. That happened thousands of years ago.“

Much was justified in the name of survival that wasn't strictly necessary for survival. When every war is defined as a fight for one's life anything will be justified.

"I don't get it? Jews are quick to claim that support from AIPAC leads to a 100% election win strategy.
But then if you criticize the governmemnt, or claim that Israel has outsized influence in Washington, DC ... all of a sudden you're anti-Semetic." [sic]

AIPAC spending vs. Other Major PACs and Super PACs (ChatGPT):
While AIPAC as an organization historically did not contribute directly to candidates (since it’s a 501(c)(4)), in 2021 it launched a Super PAC, United Democracy Project (UDP), and a PAC, AIPAC PAC, marking a major shift in strategy. These now spend heavily to influence primary and general election outcomes.

In terms of financial influence:
United Democracy Project (UDP) spent over $41 million in the 2022 midterm elections, making it one of the highest-spending Super PACs in Democratic primaries, particularly targeting progressive candidates critical of Israel.

For comparison, other top Super PACs in 2022 included:
Senate Leadership Fund (Republican) – over $205 million
House Majority PAC (Democratic) – over $130 million
Club for Growth Action (Republican/Libertarian) – over $80 million
EMILY’s List (Democratic, pro-choice women) – tens of millions annually

Yes — in raw dollar terms, AIPAC’s Super PAC (United Democracy Project) spends less than half of what the very largest Super PACs do in total federal election spending.

Yet regardless of the amount some people will claim that Jews/Israel control the government -- that kind of delusional thinking is indicative of antisemitism.

Rosalyn C. చెప్పారు...

PS -- We know these "progressive Democrats who target Israel" are also definitely anti-MAGA and anti-USA. It's strange how things have developed on the Left such that if you are anti-USA you are also anti-Israel, but least they are consistent in their rhetoric. On the Right the anti-semitic Conservatives are actually nuttier. Both forms of hatred are disturbing.

People at the ADL and some of the more extreme Zionist organizations don't really understand WASPs. Or Right-wingers. They just want to worship Jews. They just want Jews to say "Hey Goy, we appreciate your support - and thanks". And maybe ask for a blow job.

But the ADL and the hardcore Zionists cant help themselves. They just look at some Southern Evangelicals and old-timey philosemtic WASPs and they see Hitler 2.O. Its like when all these dumb Southern Evangelicals go to Israel to worship jews, and some Orthodox Jew spits on them.

It'd be funny - if it wasn't so sad. Its like the Pope cucking for the Jews, and the Jews still saying "Hey, that's not good enough".

RCOCEAN II చెప్పారు...

Ooh, top of the mornin' its your most Orish Irish man ever, Connor O'conner O'Dublin O'brian and i'd like to say : "love the jews, doncha know". And thank yee. 'cause the ADL gave me a few shekels.

The American "newspaper of record" - really the Daily Catechism of the governing class - has at least two factual errors - about Trump's praising white supremacists - the "both sides" fake news that won't die, and the quote about Joe Rogan claiming that "Jews run everything...", I've never heard this before and just went to look on the net for the source it... is anyone aware of when Rogan might have said this. (I'm not a fan of either Trump or Rogan, albeit for different reasons).
