Trump and Biden are just shooting the breeze. Both men are ultimately self-contained with strong egos.
Melania is responding monosyllabically and with a frozen smile to any comment from Jill. She looks miserable in the presence of her husband's enemies. She cannot fake it.
Kamala and Vance are not talking much, small talk.
The two VP spouses have the least at stake and are having the most pleasant conversation.
I am a man of little distinction, and very little pride, but one of the things I'm actually pretty good at is never thinking about what other people are saying to one another.

I think Trump is being gracious, and telling Biden that he is going to have ice cream latter, and that biden can continue to be president in Delaware. Joe is trying not to drool all over his tie.

Like most wives, I'd imagine Melania is really pissed they tried to kill her husband; the father of child, and raided her home. You can tell she thinks they are all shit. Even at Carter's funeral.

Kamala is trying come up with a scenario whereby she can accuse JD of sexual harassment while Doug is trying to give his phone number to Usha.

Hit on or hit. With that guy it could go either way.
Clearly, the two worst limos to be in would be Kamala + JD, and Jill + Melania. But between those, probably Kamala + JD.
Trump should have brought along a bunch of pardons and Executive Orders for Biden to sign. It'd be great if Biden pardoned all the J6 participants.
Hopefully China has bugged the limos and will make the highlights public soon.

2, Melania is complimenting Jill on her lovely dress and asking how she chose the color. Jill is feeling as all women must feel in Melania's presence even if Melania were really being nice. Now, Melania is asking if Jill made the dress herself, "You seem so clever." Jill is considering getting out of the car and walking the rest of the way.
3. Kamala told JD that you can keep campaign money and JD told Kamala that you can keep campaign promises. Now they're both looking out the windows.
4. I agree with the others on Doug's ideas but I think Usha quickly and quietly drove an ice dagger in where it would do most good.
Hopefully, if DOGE is successful, next time there's an inauguration they'll just put all these people on a shuttlebus.

I suspect JD is trying to make simple, pleasant conversation, which is a strength of his. Kamala, on the other hand, has no such gift. Am sure she responds with the banal verbal diarrhea to which we've become accustomed
I doubt it, with the VP spouses. Of the 8 of them, she is very likely the smartest, he is a blithering idiot. JD admits that she is smarter, and she had the more illustrious career at HLS. And she is in the type of law practice where she rarely has to suffer fools. Or make small talk. Their spouses are at least both politicians and legally trained. If I could pick one of the 8 to have a discussion with, it would be Mrs Vance, while my partner, who put herself through college modeling, and was later an interior designer, would prefer Mrs Trump.
