"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not."

Wrote Dr. Seuss, in "The Lorax," quoted by Luigi Mangione at Goodreads.

Quoted in "Man Arrested After C.E.O. Killing Showed Interest on Social Media in Self-Improvement/Figures like Andrew Huberman, Tim Urban and the Unabomber feature in posts shared by accounts that appear to belong to the man arrested on Monday" (NYT).

Mangione is the "Man Arrested."

This guy appears to be a bog-standard leftist. Is there any evidence otherwise?

What a waste of cute. He's cute.

As in "On the Cover of the Rolling Stone".

We probably shouldn’t be surprised that he’s the privileged child of wealth who went to all the best schools.

Peachy said...

Yeah. He will soon be there, on that cover - elevated.
That's not my intent. I was reacting to my looking at the photos at this link.
NY Post link

plus: "Mangione also subscribed to anti-capitalist and climate-change causes"

I hope the guys in his prison think so too. They're definitely going to have to do something about his teeth, though.

He was a big fan of the tech right. Right-left is a dead paradigm.

Someone on Twitter (or maybe at Ace of Spades - I forget, but it was one or the other) says Mangione's developer grandfather was a close friend of the mayor of Baltimore, who was also Nancy Pelosi's father. Small world!

Tom T. said...

No indication so far that he or some family member suffered from a denial of care.

Nancy Pelosi's father was a mobbed up politician who was also associated with "Murder Incorporated."

Ivy Leaguer. Penn.

The Unabomber went to Harvard. That was where our government destroyed his mind in the MKUltra experiment.

It's no surprise AT ALL that this kid is Ivy League.

The Jews had better flee now. They're training the new ones to be Nazis.

He probably got his bill for the Obamacare insurance policy he's required by law to purchase.

I'd be killing CEO's too if I wasn't breaking that law.

He looks ripped in that backpacking photo. My first thought seeing that was to wonder if he was taking steroids, although I think those tend to be more likely to cause sudden, violent behavior, not deliberate and calculated violent behavior.

I never heard of any assassin who went to Creighton.

There are thousands of Unibomber haiku on the internet. Just a suggestion.

Likely he’s banking on jury nullification based on some injustice he or someone close to him suffered. Not admissible, but…

Have you heard about the new Italian tires?

His family is wildly rich and own a country club golf course and another resort in Maryland. He lives in a $2 million house.

There is no injustice those people have ever suffered, certainly not one of being denied critical health care.

He's a bored child of a very Democratic family. ObamaCare I guess didn't turn out like every leftist in the country proclaimed it would.

Do you know who else has two Ivy League degrees and attended a toney prep school? Barack Obama.

No doubt Trump shares close "associates" with Pelosi's pop!

I'm inspired by the Left's regular decent into Reductio ad Hitlerum. Thanks for playing, Robert.

An FBI profiler suggested a medical incident may have prompted the shooting.
He also likened it to the Unabomber's rage against his shrink who was helping with Ted's Dysphoria.

Right now there are dozens of people like this guy on every Ivy League campus. They've been coddled, propagandized, and groomed for years to become some twisted kind of imagined social justice revolutionary by their too cowardly to personally fight professors/groomers. A person who did nothing to deserve his fate is dead and this kid will likely spend the rest of his life in jail, and his groomers will slink away to groom some more.

This is a shameful reality on every Ivy League campus today.

That's a big leap to go from "Sharing is caring" to "Ki**ing is caring".

To paraphrase Norm's Hitler joke. The more we find out about this Luigi fella, the more we won't like ourselves.

Pretty sure cold blooded execution was not what the Lorax meant, but hey, some people might interpret differently and draw different lessons.

Exactly. Who among us has not visited McDonalds with a printed gun and a homemade manifesto?

Aggie said...

Who would have thought that he'd be made by a fast-food worker, who phoned it in? The McDonalds is now being review-bombed as being 'rat-infested'.

Aggie said...

Not only that, CNN is burnishing its fallen reputation by scooping the details on his phony IDs and the manifesto. They must have gotten chummy with the FBI boys during all those pre-dawn raids.

A lot of people have never heard it at all--ethnic sensitivities have waxed and waned. And I probably never would have heard it myself, fifty years ago, if not for my late MIL, nee' Catanzaro.
