Maria Bartiromo prefaced a question to Trump by saying Biden wasn’t sure we’d have a peaceful ELECTION DAY, and asked Trump what he thought (I’m paraphrasing). Trump said that CONCERNING ELECTION DAY he thought the bigger threat was from the “enemy within”, who he described as far left lunatics. He said that they could be easily handled by the National Guard, or by the military if necessary because “they can’t let that happen “.
Trump will be a private citizen on Election Day, with neither power nor authority to direct anyone to do anything. The “they” he referred to would, in a fair reading, be the governors of states experiencing Election Day strife, or maybe the Biden administration. Who else could call out the National Guard? The far left lunatics he was talking about were, to my mind, Antifa types (who else would be rioting in the streets on Election Day?)
But that’s not what TDS sufferers heard. They heard this as a promise that months after the election, and after inauguration, Trump would use the National Guard and military to round up his political opponents, because he said that Adam Schiff is also a far left lunatic.
I wonder if someone could have no emotions on their own but be susceptible to feeling empathy/the emotions of others/is morally motivated…does an absence of emotions really make a person more violent or apathetic to others? I think in most cases there’s a correlation but I’ve always wondered what it would be like not to be emotional. I think they are very beautiful and I welcome the whole scope of them but also I feel like there’s so many highly emotional people who hurt people a lot..and if that’s true, why can’t a person with dampened emotions be a good person to others? I’ve noticed that times when I’m not emotional but others are that I can help others but idk…the balance is interesting and I think every group of people…whether that be a family or a whole community…needs a wide range of people who process and have different emotions. The issue is that I really think emotional policing is a thing and it’s kind of impossible to tell people how they should and shouldn’t feel and we honestly need crazy people to an extent…. Idk what I’m going on abt rn but like if you know you know I guess…
I seem to remember a surfeit of burning cars, smashed business windows, riots, smoldering wreckage in the streets, and so forth, in November of 2016. Mostly in highly Democrat-prone districts, across the US. Also, people venting in public by screaming to the skies and so on. And then followed by about 6 months of posturing and lawsuits and elector-bullying and cries of 'Unfairness!' and so forth by an army of Democrat politicians, trying to somehow pry out a 'win' for themselves, instead of for the actual election-winner. Was it all a dream? Then, I remember a second round of city-burning riots leading up to the 2020 elections, all of them curiously well-organized and well-supplied with the tools of the riot trade, found neatly stacked on waiting pallets.
What on earth can Trump be thinking, expecting it to happen all over again?
Everyone up in here watch trump do the WEAVE in Chicago interview..My Lord this is your guy.He is brain damaged, the interviewer had to tell him to come back to earth and try and answer a question. This is the 80 year old senile man you want in the WH..wow
And watch him act like a 5 year old crossing his arms in front of his chest when the interviewer pressed him to answer the question that was asked instead of his usual flights of fancy. It was embarrassing for the US that a man from GB had to interview an American running for president who acted like a child on the verge of a temper tantrum.
"If you look at the events of January the 6th, 2021, it showed to many people America's democracy was unruly and violent," the interviewer said. "Will you commit now to respecting and encouraging a peaceful transfer of power?"
"You had a peaceful transfer of power," Trump insisted.
"Come on, President Trump!" Micklethwait exclaimed. "You had a peaceful transfer of power compared with Venezuela, but it was by far the worst transfer of power for a long time."
Biden warns Iran, an attempt on DJT's life will be regarded as an act of war, reports NYPost.
Unusually strong from Joe Biden given his indulgence in the cash-for-nothing policy of his sponsor, Lord Zero. This will be greeted with confusion in Iran, where the concept of historical legacy is about as foreign and incomprehensible as our separation of church and state. To Iran's theocrats, history is irrelevant except as a tool to confound and manipulate the infidels. To them, there is no future except what is already decreed by Allah, so Biden's effort to look stronger and more decisive in the eyes of sympathetic historians can only be seen as foolishness. On the other hand, they have been chastised by the United States before without the Americans speaking of war.
Odds are the mullahs will not be deterred. Another attempt on President Trump's life is certain. Whether Biden's warning will become Biden's military response is the real question. He's still the lawful President of the United States, though that may be meaningless to Dr. Jill, Kackles Kamala, and the DNC.
Joe Biden surrounded our nation's capital with razor wire to keep Americans out of Washington DC while he was installed in a stolen election. And after J6, he's put thousands of people who objected to this into political prisons.
He should be god damned concerned about a peaceful election day.
Biden knows what is going to happen to his family if ANYBODY murders Donald Trump. So of course he's trying to protect them. As he should. He should be warning Iran, Democrat whackjobs, Ukranian/Hawaiian assassins ... everybody. LEAVE TRUMP ALONE.
4,000 people die annually from seasonal allergies and the asthma attacks they bring on. I'm praying, Inga that God doesn't smite you for your lack of empathy for your fellow human beings, brought on by your mental illness.
“According to available data, while seasonal allergies themselves rarely directly cause death a very small number of people may die each year due to severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) triggered by seasonal allergens, with estimates ranging from a few hundred to a thousand deaths annually in the United States.”
Dixcus, I hear that plantar fasciitis is deadly! No wonder Trump got all those deferments from the draft.
Tonight is supposed to be the last chance to see that comet in the western sky. Here in the Shenandoah Valley we’re dealing with high clouds, and it was cloudy last night too. I’ll have to wait 80,000 years to see it again. Don’t know that that I’ll last that long.

What a potato head.
The Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama produces the GLE, GLE Coupé, GLS series and GLS Maybach exclusively for the world market.
Does Trump think other countries will just accept the tariffs? Of course they will retaliate, creating a trade war that will make American products hard to export and damaging the US economy.
Trump is not concerned with the outcome of his policies be it trade wars or inflation. He will say anything to give the impression to voters that he will tax foreign products, which is a vote winner.
I'm hoping you won't be one of the very small number of people who get smited each year due to karma from being completely unable to have any empathy for your fellow human beings, Inga. Very much hoping. Very, very much hoping.
She cannot figure out why she's single and people just really, really don't like her ... like AT ALL. It's not her weight. Or her lack of attractiveness. It's her complete lack of any redeeming value as a human being.
Wife and I ordered some free (i.e., paid for using tax dollars) COVID test kits. They arrived today — already past their expiration date. A note was enclosed describing how to find out whether the results of the test might still be valid.
"Come on, President Trump!" Micklethwait exclaimed. "You had a peaceful transfer of power compared with Venezuela, but it was by far the worst transfer of power for a long time."
And did you notice those in attendance booed when the idiot said that? No? That's because you're the one who's in a cult. A Cult of Hate.
You thrive on your hatred of Trump and his supporters. It's what motivates you. It's all you have.
Inga you would vote for a potted plant (D). these are very disingenuous comments and you fool nobody but yourself. (which, is coincidentally, very easy to do.)
The Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama produces the GLE, GLE Coupé, GLS series and GLS Maybach exclusively for the world market.
Potato potahto.
According the the interwebs. the Alabama plant assembles parts shipped from Germany. They do not manufacture the parts.
Production <> manufacture.
It is quite likely that they do this as a way around the import taxes. Don't know exactly as I don't know trade law, but it would not surprise me that sending in parts would bypass certain tariffs. Trump is likely correct in essence.
The Donald is on stage in Atlanta now. Terrific speaker and brilliant thinker with the courage of a warrior. It’s almost as amazing as SpaceX’s chopsticks in action.
Seasonal allergies are not considered “dangerous”. But please do go on twisting yourself into a pretzel trying to make Trump sound like he knows what he’s talking about instead of just trying to distract from his own unpublished health report. People die from anaphylaxis, NOT seasonal allergies. Go to an allergist and ask if seasonal allergies is something to be frightened of or if they will kill you. You sound as dumb as Trump.
Assembly is not manufacture. Assembly does not create the need for a multitude of smaller businesses/jobs in the US to satisfy supply chain neeeds. Assembly does not require advanced manufacturing processes with machinery needing maintenance and upkeep.
And we havent even started on marketing, product management, engineering design, etc.
All of those things are precisely what the New Soviet Democraticals and their globalist sellout GOPe-ers want to give to the rest of the world at the expense of the American workers....while other nations continue with their punitive tariffs on US products while subsidizing the foreign companies so those companies can dump products in the US markets to crush our businesses.
Or as Romney/Schumer/Ryan & McConnell et al would call it: paradise.
Trump is pissed early voting is killin it..Georgia election officials were encouraged Tuesday by the record number of early voters casting ballots in the critical battleground state that faces challenges from Hurricane Helene and litigation over controversial election rule changes. Over 300,000 ballots were cast Tuesday, the opening day for early voting in the state, Georgia election official Gabriel Sterling announced on X. “For those that claimed Georgia election laws were Jim Crow 2.0 and those that say democracy is dying…the voters of Georgia would like to have a word. Over 300,000 votes cast today! That’s 123% higher than the old record for the 1st day. Great job counties & voters,” Sterling said. Earlier in the day, Sterling called the quarter of a million votes cast by 4 p.m. a “spectacular turnout.” Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger wrote in a social media post that Georgia voters “have surpassed all daily records for any day of early voting in 2022.” He added that “Georgia voters are energized!” “No matter how you look at it, these are huge numbers,” said CNN’s Erin Burnett on her show “OutFront.” She asked veteran Democratic operative David Axelrod to analyze what he saw in the numbers. Early voting underway in Georgia as judge makes ruling about certification Trump pissed again ,his election stealing takes a hit as certification must happen says the judge,,the Republican plan to stall all certification with ringers in all the states. Think they are hip to it and most likelu trump not calling Governor of Rathensburger again begging for votes, but you never know with him,he is senile and confused ths round.
Using 538's Swing-o-Matic chart, Matt Yglesias has pointed out that Trump could improve 10 points with Hispanic voters and 20 points with Black Americans—but still lose to Harris if he does just 2 points worse with white people.
VP candidate Timmy Walz awkwardly high fived the female Governor of Michigan and hugged Wisconsin Governor Evers. It was so embarrassing Evers' face turned color which had to be a first.
The Atlantic asks: Is Donald Trump well enough to serve as president?
The question is not temperamental or philosophical fitness—he made clear long ago that the answer to both is no—but something more fundamental.
The election is in three weeks, and Pennsylvania is a must-win state for both Trump and Kamala Harris, but during a rally last night in Montgomery County, northwest of Philadelphia, Trump got bored with the event, billed as a “town hall,” and just played music for almost 40 minutes, scowling, smirking, and swaying onstage. Trump is no stranger to surreal moments, yet this was one of the oddest of his political career.
Last night, he might have been sending a pointed message to himself, with the help of an Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman hit: “It’s time to say goodbye.”
What is amazing about the graph is how the trust in media of Democrats rose as their coverage was wall to wall lies about Trump and Russia. We know now that it was all lies, they knew it then.
Watched the entire interview. Trump clearly hasn’t a clue about how trade works, how capital flows, or how to how ignorant he appears. He tells anecdote after anecdote unsupported by any evidence. What was actually more disturbing was the reaction of the audience which cheered his every word. The focus of tax reform should be on the demand side not corporate tax cuts. He tried this in his first term and the results were stock buybacks enriching management and a GDP that decelerated to 0 growth in the 4th quarter of 2019 (pre COVID). From a strictly policy point of view his approach is unlikely to do much for most of his constituents.
Mark writes: “That's an opinion piece written by people who don't work at NYTimes.” Even opinion pieces should go through a vetting process. Facts presented in an opinion piece (if that’s what it was) need to be checked for accuracy - if the newspaper cares about its reputation.
I don't know where they got their original numbers because D+37 for Hispanics in 2020 is wildly overstated per this from Ruy Teixeira
5. The latest data indicate that the Democratic margin among Hispanics is continuing to fall this cycle. Cook Political Report maintains a database of crosstabs from high quality surveys and finds the average margin for Harris among Hispanics to be around 12 points. That’s an 11-point drop from Biden’s 23-point margin among Hispanics in 2020 (which in turn was a 16-point drop from Clinton’s advantage in 2016).
About the only thing Yglesias noticed is that there's a lot of white people in the US, contrary to popular misconception. How likely is Trump to lose 2% of whites if Gallup is showing R+1 party identification for the first time in over a decade?
Great point of discussion. I think being non reactive and calm is an emotion. The difference may be whether or not you are dominated by the parasympathetic or the sympathetic nervous system. Of course we need crazy people. Look at Elon Musk. He seems quite crazy to me although he also seems very very calm. I think that's his emotional state of being.
Just dodged a frost/freeze in my yard last night. I'd brought in the potted plants anyway, just in case. Did get to 30 at the airport. Glad I don't live there.
If you set a reasonable D+15 for Hispanics in 2024 and change nothing else, you get the sow's ear Ygelsias is trying to resew. Harris has to run 1-2 percent better among whites than Biden in 2020 in order to win. And per the work Ruy Teixeira is doing, she has to do it largely among working class whites.
Greenwald adds: "By the way, do you notice how nobody talks any more about the Jack Smith prosecution or the Florida documents case or the Atlanta criminal charges now that they lost all their utility for election purposes: almost as if that was their only real function from the start?"

Dear Nurse Ratched, did you even read your own quote? Let me help you with your own statement, genius. YOU said "...(anaphylaxis) triggered by seasonal allergens". So you agree that seasonal allergens can cause deaths. You just don't think that hundreds or thousands of people dying is a big deal.
“Assembly does not create the need for a multitude of smaller businesses/jobs in the US to satisfy supply chain neeeds. Assembly does not require advanced manufacturing processes with machinery needing maintenance and upkeep.”

Looks like Liz Cheney was unethically coaching Cassidy Hutchinson before her Congressional testimony on January 6th. This comes out just prior to Nathan Wade testifying to Congress while Fani Willis is clearly arguing that Wade should ignore a Congressional subpoena. If you wonder the connection, remember when CNN interviewed the grand jury forewoman that delivered the indictment for Trump that is being tried in Georgia originally by Wade on behalf of Willis' office? The forewoman claimed the testimony "they" (she spoke on behalf of the entire grand jury) thought was the most honest and damning was from Cassidy Hutchinson. This is the same Cassidy Hutchison that testified to Congress that Trump grabbed the wheel of "The Beast" from Secret Service during the Capitol riot on January 6th. It is impossible to grab the wheel from the backseat of the "The Beast" Cadillac as there is a barrier between it and the front seat. USSS didn't use "The Beast" to move Trump around on January 6th. Yet, both the January 6th Congressional committee and the Georgia grand jury thought Cassidy's testimony was honest. It seems Cassidy may have been just saying what Liz Cheney wanted her to say.

I think Elon is crazy in the way that a very smart person is perceived as crazy, i.e. unpredictable, and prone to make impactful decisions that others don't immediately understand, but which stand the test of time. Keeping your own counsel isn't crazy, when you're smarter-than-average, nor is being decisive.
Regardless of which nervous system is dominant in an individual, those that would police us for our emotions, are doing it in order to dominate us. No good comes from that.
According to calculations by the Tax Foundation, the Section 301 tariffs on Chinese imports cost American consumers and businesses more than $200 billion in higher taxes from the start of Trump's trade war at the end of September 2019 through March 2024.
Trump originally promised that his tariffs would cause "thousands of companies" to leave China, the University of Kansas and the University of California, Irvine found that the overall number of multinational firms operating in China increased during 2019, the first full year of Trump's trade war.
Tariffs don't work as trade leverage. That was true when Trump was president, it was true while Biden was president, and it will be true if Vice President Kamala Harris—who says there is nothing she would change from the Biden administration—gets a chance to run the show next year.
So the winning strategy calls for a unilateral reduction of tariffs on Chinese goods - which neither the Democrats nor Republicans have proposed. Lowering this consumption tax imposed by Trump would put $50 to $75 billion back into the US economy annually.
"When the FBI originally released the “final” crime data for 2022 in September 2023, it reported that the nation’s violent crime rate fell by 2.1%. This quickly became, and remains, a Democratic Party talking point to counter Donald Trump’s claims of soaring crime.
But the FBI has quietly revised those numbers, releasing new data that shows violent crime increased in 2022 by 4.5%. The new data includes thousands more murders, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults."
Tim Murtaugh @TimMurtaugh · Follow Well, well. One more Democrat talking point down.
Crime is indeed on the rise under Harris and Biden, proven by new REVISED crime statistics from the FBI.
When I was young, I was a free-trade absolutist. Cheap goods are better for everybody. As I've matured I've realized there's more to the story than just prices. If we allow our industrial production to be hollowed out, and then find ourselves in a war (hot or cold) with the country that is supplying us with all our steel (just to use one example), we are truly screwed. And we will have done it to ourselves.
Hell, it doesn't even require a war. Once we no longer make anything, the other country is free to raise their prices and we have no choice but to pay.
Its becoming clear The Hopeless Soy Boy Cat Lady gadfly has caught some sort of brain bacterium that inhibits even the most rudimentary logic capabilities.
And its not going to ever get any better. This is as "advanced" as our Hopeless gadfly is ever going to be.......
Sad.
But it does make him a terrific little New Soviet Democratical NPC foot soldier who will do what he is told every second of every day.
Walter--Trump says that they stopped construction because they think that he is going to win (which would render their investment worthless). I suspect that it is more complicated than that, but that's what he said in Chicago.

The same dip in the jet stream has made it colder and windier here too. It was unseasonably warm while I was gone.
A waste of our time and taxpayer dollars.
And it's pathetic.
Inga you would vote for a potted plant (D). these are very disingenuous comments and you fool nobody but yourself. (which, is coincidentally, very easy to do.)
The largest ovation was when Micklethwait attempted to conflate legal and illegal immigration and Trump wouldn't let him get away with it.
People see what Biden has done and Harris supported and they don't like it.
"creating a trade war that will make American products hard to export and damaging the US economy."
How many Chevy's does Germany buy, Angela?
None.
How many Ford's?
None.
The Donald is on stage in Atlanta now. Terrific speaker and brilliant thinker with the courage of a warrior. It’s almost as amazing as SpaceX’s chopsticks in action.
Looking forward to warmth this weekend. I have gutters to clear.
While I have hope for a warm Halloween and another 100+ kid night, cooling is on its way from the Hudson Bay down.
Familiar scam. Aided and abetted by our government.
Here’s how it works.
Scammers buy up short dated product for pennies on the dollar. Send them to you for free then bill government full price.
Only the taxpayers get hurt. And of course you because you got a worthless product.
"Tonight is supposed to be the last chance to see that comet in the western sky. "
That's not true. It's not like it's attached to a light switch.
Assembly is also production. Value is added by taking a pile of parts and making a car out of it.
Inag is obsessed with Trump's every move. It's a hate cult.
So, Inga, just "a few hundred to a thousand deaths annually in the United States"? No big deal then? And you call yourself a "nurse"?
Inga you would vote for a potted plant (D).
Well. She did vote for Biden and truly believed that 81 million others did.
Biden's IQ before dementia was only slightly above that of a potted plant.
Notice that both Biden and Harris were multiple times failed Democrat candidates, but somehow got installed after Covid.
Trump’s Atlanta rally is over. The wife says he’s still an asshole but she’s voting for him anyway.
Tell your wife that I'm already voting for him. She doesn't need to SELL me any more. I can only vote 4 times.
So are we all going to put Trump and Harris signs in our yards (as I suggested a while ago - to promote social harmony) or is that still a no?
Planetgeo,
Seasonal allergies are not considered “dangerous”.
Earlier in the day, Sterling called the quarter of a million votes cast by 4 p.m. a “spectacular turnout.”
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger wrote in a social media post that Georgia voters “have surpassed all daily records for any day of early voting in 2022.” He added that “Georgia voters are energized!”
“No matter how you look at it, these are huge numbers,” said CNN’s Erin Burnett on her show “OutFront.” She asked veteran Democratic operative David Axelrod to analyze what he saw in the numbers.
Who said the Deep State isn't collaborating with Tehran?

De. Ranged.
They're going to fit you for a rubber room should Trump win.
I hope they give you Internet access, too.
Well. She did vote for Biden and truly believed that 81 million others did.
To be fair, she won't blindly vote for the D. She voted for Jill effing Stein in 2016 because Hillary! was leftist enough.
That's the level of derangement we're dealing with here.
So your wife is voting for a dude that she says is an asshole,
Think of what that says about your candidate. Let it sink in.
"Hearing Kamala advisors said that Tim is married to "Dollar Tree Hillary"'
Using 538's Swing-o-Matic chart, Matt Yglesias has pointed out that Trump could improve 10 points with Hispanic voters and 20 points with Black Americans—but still lose to Harris if he does just 2 points worse with white people.

It's so cold in Tampa, I'm thinking I'll maybe open the windows.
I am guessing that the DNC Media talking points are (now that senile Joe is out) that Trump is too old and feeble to be POTUS.
These people are hilarious. Absolutely freaking hilarious.
I’m only looking at the key battleground states. That’s it.
And based on what I see, it’s basically a margin-of-error, dead tie.

That's an opinion piece written by people who don't work at NYTimes.
Are you pretending that it was reported as news, not opinion?
You do realize this article is inaccurate?
Mark writes:
“That's an opinion piece written by people who don't work at NYTimes.”
Even opinion pieces should go through a vetting process. Facts presented in an opinion piece (if that’s what it was) need to be checked for accuracy - if the newspaper cares about its reputation.
Glorious morning in NE Fla as the strong hand of heat and humidity finally begins to release its grip. Time for a walk.
The NYT lies and spins for their narrative and their party.
"That's an opinion piece written by people who don't work at NYTimes."
Surely you meant to say: "That's an opinion piece, with evidence, written by people who don't work at NYTimes."
You are a serial fabulist, Bich.

4th quarter of 2019 was not spectacular, but it was 2.1 %.
No he doesn't. Clueless as ever. Trump up .03 in Penn.
“I gon win”, sez QueMala to Charlemagne the Fraud.
Context
That’s just painful to listen to.
Here are 24 straight minutes of Democrats denying election results.
My favorite part of US politics is when Dems say this with a straight face.
Greenwald adds:
"By the way, do you notice how nobody talks any more about the Jack Smith prosecution or the Florida documents case or the Atlanta criminal charges now that they lost all their utility for election purposes: almost as if that was their only real function from the start?"
Pretending is your Forte, Mark.

Nothing pretending about it. The .223 was nicknamed "Laserwind".
Shyamala Gopalan's daughter is quite the linguist.

The Jan 6th committee - hand-picked by Nancy Pelosi - was a farce. They were not after any truths - they were all-in for the narrative.

Boy, mention Trump and a gaggle of lefties appears !
More loony tunes from the dullard.

A really bad hoax in the NYT.
Thanks for not solving all our problems when I was gone!
No, it doesn't.
Wow. I watched the official feed of the Chicago Economic Club event, and the post-event applause seemed sedate. Here's another view.
A new approach to the flawed idea that tariffs can be useful for anything besides generating revenue from taxes paid by Americans.

Well, well. One more Democrat talking point down.
Crime is indeed on the rise under Harris and Biden, proven by new REVISED crime statistics from the FBI.

Looks like a lot of high tech equipment to me.
"Tariffs don't work as trade leverage."
LOL. How could that possibly be true?
So China is building massive car plants in Mexico to flood the US with cars; except now they've stopped construction of those plants.
Why must the US unilaterally surrender to aggressive Chinese trade practices? Fuck that.
Look what happened during covid, when we "discovered" that the majority of our medical supplies and pharmaceuticals are made overseas. So stupid.
Hell, it doesn't even require a war. Once we no longer make anything, the other country is free to raise their prices and we have no choice but to pay.
Yardsign Update: there still aren't very many, even in neighborhoods where they are normally plentiful.

Sad.
But it does make him a terrific little New Soviet Democratical NPC foot soldier who will do what he is told every second of every day.
So..why are they stopping construction?
Walter--Trump says that they stopped construction because they think that he is going to win (which would render their investment worthless). I suspect that it is more complicated than that, but that's what he said in Chicago.
