The NYT reports.
Why isn't she crushing Trump by now with all that dough? All you can do with money is buy things. At some point, what is there left to buy? We're told the money "is being spent on a wave of television and digital advertising and an expansive operation of offices and staff in the seven battleground states and beyond."
"The sums are so large because both candidates are raising funds into jumbo committees that can collect checks of more than $900,000 by including state parties nationwide and the national party."
Does anyone complain about all the money in politics anymore or is that an antique concern? Now, one simply exults and taunts.

Any cash not spent on get out the vote or ballot fraud has a fairly low point of diminished return. I think paid advertisements are almost a complete waste of money for Trump and a near one for Harris, too, by this point.
In guess we'll find out on Nov 6.
The nation burns. Federal debt and deficit are out of control. Political consultants and politicans don't care because they all get rich off the game or they are already rich. The country would be better off if "Ann Althouse" type people were elected officals. But I don't see that happening. I am too old/tired/lazy to go anywhere else, but where would I go anyway? My constant refrain...."We are fucked".
It's a very small price for $7 trillion cash flow per year.
"Harris Is Said to Have Raised $1 Billion Since Entering Race."
People need to ask themselves why so much money is being dumped on her.
What's the ROI?
"I Do Think At A Certain Point You've Made Enough Money"
At some point, you've raised too much money.
My guess is a good chunk of it is being used by down ballot campaigns.
Amazon spent a billion on their "Rings of Power", and my dog produces a more appealing product on our morning walks.
1 billion plus - And look at the Quinnipiac polls that just posted on RCP. DJT with Big Mo.
Epstein's clients don't want to hang.
Like Free Speech, concern for the amount of political donations was important until it became a barrier to democracy.
Jeb Bush. Hillary Clinton. Ron DeSantis. All people who had a ton of money pumped into their campaigns, all lost to President Trump by lesser or greater extents.
Joe Biden was the exception, but he had a Chinese (?) pandemic on his side. Now... now I think most of the oligarchs have made their peace with Trump. But some have not. They know they're dead if Trump gets a second term. The are supposedly ready for civil war, but I really think they overestimate their chances.
I wonder how much is from Wall Street and the wind and solar energy developers. Their gravy train is on the line with this election. The stakes are huge: $1.2 Trillion
All Democrats will die… in time.
I do find a measure of comfort in that. Something so right.
Basically, it's a protection racket. Billionaire lefties just want to pay enough to the Black Hand to ensure that the mob of Orcs doesn't come after them with the pitchforks (mixing my film metaphors here).

Redistributive change schemes.
I am always amused to hear that money raised by Democrats is a sign of their popularity while money raised by Republicans is a sign of the pernicious influence of money in politics.
In the meantime they are viable and vengeful for Republicans standing against slavery, Diversity, and redistributive change schemes.
Bribes for endorsements.
PedoJoe, Kamala takes a knee, Walz 'n Mengele.
She's a faceless cookie
With all that money, you'd think they could buy a better candidate, or a more skillful and intelligent actress.
Kamala Harris is deliberately trying to lose.
Does anyone complain about all the money in politics anymore or is that an antique concern?
At this point in time I think it’s an antique concern.
"With all that money, you'd think they could buy a better candidate, or a more skillful and intelligent actress."
A better candidate might get the idea she would have something to do with governing the nation. I don't think that's what they're looking for.
For how much trouble Harriss is in, I just heard that President Trump is going to do a massive rally in California this Saturday.
Is it possible that California is in play?
Or is this just pretending it is in play to scare the crap out of everybody.
How cool would it be if, like another hapless VP, algore, she lost her home state.
John Henry
Said to have raised...without evidence.
In an era of trillion dollar government spending and deficits, a billion dollars seems like chicken feed.
I never thought I would ever say anything like that. We truly live in interesting times.
I've had this niggling at the back of my mind since before she was even a candidate. It's been coming more and more to the fore in recent weeks.
Ditto the media. Are they setting her up to lose?
Let's also not forget that John Malone, who is a HUGE trump supporter bought CNN a couple years ago. Is a CNN endorsement of President Trump going to be the October surprise in a week or two?
What does Anderson Cooper's contract say? If CNN decides they want him to endorse president Trump and the Repo ticket, can he say no?
John Henry
I remember Dr. Evil holding the world at ransom for 1 million dollars, and that after the world's laughter subsided, he got their attention by raising the ransom demand to the unbelievably huge sum of 100 million dollars. With a national debt screaming past the $35 trillion mark, merely dumping a billion on a contest to control the world's most powerful nation seems like a modest expenditure. It's about what Pete Buttigieg has spent per installed electric charging station.
Repulsive. She and the democrats are repulsive.
That's a lot of nitrous oxide.
"It's about what Pete Buttigieg has spent per installed electric charging station."
We all know there's Solyndra type grift involved.
Here in Los Angeles, all lawn signs and bumper stickers, all media, and just about all government officials are Harris/Walz. California is a fat cow providing the milk of political money, though.
Harris-Walz ads here in AZ focus on Trump being for billionaires and Kamala-lala-ding-dong being for the middle class. Where did all that money come from?
It’s the money that goes into their shell companies that’s the problem. Not what goes into campaigns. Kamala had to buy a lot of Hunters paintings before Joe quit the race
It’s the money that goes into their shell companies that’s the problem. Not what goes into campaigns. Kamala had to buy a lot of Hunters paintings before Joe quit the race
Democrats, and their media allies, no longer complain about money in politics, because it's they who have most of the money.
Maybe he’s there to support R campaigns for Senate or Representative.
MSM thinks campaign cash is great now that Democrats dominate in corporate and billionaire donations. The advertising advantage is so obviously one sided I’m by starting to wonder if it might turn some voters off. It’s hard to claim you’re the party of the people when you’re always spending like drunk aristocrats.
Ask President Bloomberg what $1 billion in TV ads will get you....
She dont need that amount, money isnt the only point.I believe she will be smart and give it away to down ballot places that need help.Joe was holding up the spicket,,KAMALA opened it up. 80 days and she is kicking it.trump is hiding, refusing 60 minutes, debates, interviews that call on facts and are fact checked.Put out the in other places that name the over 100 republicans who refused FEMA money ,especially ones in states getting plastered.A sorry lot of people. And could you imagine abolishing NOAA (project 2025 read it)so repubs could say well let the repub areas know whats going on but not the liberal ones, like trump likes to do with relief funding to who voted for him and who didnt. It will soon be over and the scourge of the US will be banished to pay up for his responsibilities.
Elon says the moguls are spending large because Trump will release Epstein's client list, which scares everybody.
I think Breezy is right. Wish I could remember where but Trump did a rally pretty specifically to support a Senate candidate in a state he would likely win. Thinking it was Montana. He's doing more of those this time around it seems.
With YouTube and other online media the reach of any is national.
Ask how Disney is doing with all money spent on flops
This sounds like a replay of the majority and dissenting opinions in Citizens United. Before the Dems became the party of the up-scale team, its partisans routinely decried the corrupting influence of huge piles of cash on politics. No one ever really tried to prove that too many political ads (or anything else) purchased with all that cash was corrupting in any relevant sense, but put that aside. Now that the Dems have much more cash than the down-scale Reps, you don't hear that complaint quite so often. But it remains true that there is still nothing to show that too many political ads, and whatever else money can buy in a campaign, is corrupting in any relevant sense. At the same time, it's true that too little cash can be a huge political disadvantage. Never going to happen at the national level, however.
"Does anyone complain about all the money in politics anymore or is that an antique concern?"
Get real. The whole "campaign finance" hustle, like the whole "voter suppression" hustle, is a blatant lie promulgated by Democrats as part of their plan to steal America from its citizens. No Democrat ever complained about the vast amounts of money dumped into politics by the teachers unions.
Yes. A lot of money is at stake. Not just "greens" but the military contracts.
The winner will preside over a government that is projected to spend over $30 trillion over the next 4 years. A few billion dollars isn't even round off error.
Wow! That was a burst of nonsense !
"Harris" didn't raise shit. Big Dem brokers bring the money in on her behalf, and have very specific instructions on what she is to do if the money gets her the win.
I saw in a previous post that she was putting on "drone light shows" and the like - as though such a thing would/should make one more likely to vote for her.
Yep, there's your answer right there.
Thats a lot of BoonesFarm, isnt it Inga?
Good! Maybe we'll see some of the actually hopping aboard flights to countries that don't have extradition treaties with the US.
Sorry, I’m not familiar with BoonesFarm. Do they raise chickens?
A billion dollars? Well then, why isn't she 50 points ahead?
Down ballot races will be all the better for the excess. Democrats know that having the Presidency, the House and the Senate is imperative.
I live in the highly lefty state of Massachusetts. Harris has been running ads in the 6-8pm time period. Something is being acknowledged by her campaign.
A billion dollars sounds like a lot of money but, "Approximately 240 million people were eligible to vote in the 2020 presidential election and roughly 66.1% of them submitted ballots, totaling 158,427,986 votes."
Wikipedia
So ... at $10 per actual vote for the candidate of their choice, that works out to about $1.6 billion. It costs money (other peoples' money) to become The President of the United States of America.
People in MA get bombarded by ads meant for people in the more highly-contested neighboring state of NH.
Hahahaha... you 'think' that Billion is gonna be used in campaign ads? No. Kamala is gonna use it to buy votes from drunks, dope heads, illegals, homeless, etc... in 'swing' states. Gonna get drivers to drive them to the polls and they vote for a fix or bottle of Jack Daniels or just a burger. See you have to pay off the drivers, their coordinators, fixers, dope buyers, etc.. along with the actual voter.
That is the Democrat way.
Bad news from Quinnipiac: https://poll.qu.edu/poll-release?releaseid=3913
Probably explains Walz now stumping for the "national popular vote" efforts to get rid of the Electoral College.
In a word: PANIC
Some of you are starting to get an inkling of the shape of things to come which is progress I guess. Bottom line: We're not voting our way out of all this with elections. Soon we'll have "vote" in other ways some of which [redacted fed poast]. So vote like it's 1933 and you're a jewish Berliner IOW with your feet.
The question is, why is there so little money in presidential campaigns? Anheuser Busch and McDonald’s surely each spend as much on advertising EVERY year. Maybe it’s because the real return on investment is in lobbying Congress..
Yes, that was The White Hand.
Who exactly is exulting and taunting. Every message that I see from Harris highlights a deadline to meet, or that has gone unmet. None exult or taunt.
...all from one California billionaire?
Because she has the fanciest media machine money can by and no message other than re-runs (hate Trump, Jan. 6, abortion, etc.).
Though I bet the consultants are making out well from the rivers of cash.
So they can tax "the rich", and make them pay their "fair share" right? Hahahahahah.
Or about a week later when millions of votes suddenly appear out of thin air.
Harris flooding Wisconsin with ads. They seem to be everywhere. Internet, radio, tv etc.
I left out snail mail. I bet I get at least 1 Harris flyer in the mail every other day.
Kevin nails it. All the rich people are donating bigly so that Kamala can make them pay their fair share.
Those are actually rats. The Boones Farm makes them think they are chickens.
Trump's ability to lie and mislead people about Hurricane Milton and FEMA showcases the failure of the Biden/Harris administration to crack down on misinformation.
She spends it the way she is told. All Dems loot all monies all the time. What we want to know is what the private polls are telling her.
Does anyone complain about all the money in politics?
yes! Obviously!
money in politics is ALWAYS EVIL..
That is, it is WHEN the money is used by an EVIL Republican.
Obviously. Everything (EVERY THING) done by the Democrat Party is, By Definition.. GOOD!
and just Think of ALL the money she's saved.. NOT buy interviews!
Trump is a multi billionaire. Why is this even an issue?
The 2024 federal budget was $1800 Billion.
A measly $Billion for a Presidential campaign doesn't really register as excessive.
if you will Just Look at Sauron's economic programs..
The Eye makes Much More Sense then those Commie Elves, and their songs and dance
A better candidate might get the idea s/he would have something to do with governing the nation.
THAT, is their problem with Trump.. THAT, Right There
LOL
There's no hope for improvement in your gaslighting, is there?
Trump is a multi-billionaire. Why does it matter how much Harris has raised?
"It's a very small price for $7 trillion cash flow per year."
Gordon Tullock asked this question back in the 1980s. In the simplest rent-seeking model, with N rent-seekers and $R in rent, then if it costs $X to participate, the chance you win the rent is R/N, so if there is free entry into rent seeking, R/N = X (normal or zero rate of return), or N*X = R. So that means that the full rents are dissipated. That was Tullock 1967 Western Economic Journal. But if the probability you win is p = (X/(X+Y))^A, where Y is expenditures by everyone else and A is a returns to scale parameter, then with fixed N rent seekers but X and Y variable, the rent dissipation maximizes EV=pR-X, and with Y=(N-1)X after solving for dEV/dX = 0, one can obtain that total rent seeking NX = A(1-1/N)N^{1-A}R. The participation constraint is that EV must be non-negative, which implies A(N-1)/N < 1. When 0< A < 1 (diminishing returns), then this constraint is always satisfied, so as N gets large NX goes to infinity. But when A > 1 (increasing returns to rent seeking), there is a finite N that satisfies the participation constraint, which means that for N under that level, total rent dissipation is less than R. So most economists assume there is increasing returns to rent-seeking, which is why only billionaires play.
Literally a billion and a half more than Trump's net worth
Speculating...50% of that $1B came from Bloomberg, Dimon, their fellow Wall St. monopolists, plus several iconic Tech billionaires. The other 50% may have come from Jeffrey Epstein's and Sam Bankman-Fried's secretive sponsors. Both of these groups may actually be in the same Eyes Wide Shut cabal.
Trump is the only Republican with enough billions of dollars to buy the presidency, outside of Elon Musk. So why isn't he winning? Maybe money can't really buy elections.
"Doug" and Tampon Tim Walz walk away from the counter without paying, leaving Tim's daughter to inform the cashier that a staffer will soon be up with a credit card.
The Elite Billionaire Class - don't need to pay for their drinks.
Trump's net worth is 4.2 billion US dollars. Too bad he doesn't spend some of that to help fellow Republicans get elected.
does she not get to keep unspent cash?
OpenAI is projected to lose $14B in 2024.
Just imagine the Line Up Of Lefty Little Brains (LLR-democratical Rich, The Hopeless Soy Boy gadfly, Field Marshall Freder, Dumb Lefty Mark, etc) who would be screaming their little lefty lungs out decrying such a loss if it were a Musk company!
maybe Trump can glean the second ballot that voter dropped
So that's an open call for the government to silence the political opponents of Democrats then. Straight up fascism! So much for Democrat's old "I disagree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it!"
Anthropogenic Intelligence (AI) is more productive than MCACs with semantic primitives that are novelties with unprecedented carbon hoofprints.
The Harris campaign is playing ads on black radio in Atlanta. I guess they are swimming in money.
Not since Obama tapped millions in foreign unverified credit card donations has a Democratic enriched themselves with such a grand scheme. Democracy is aborted by Democrazis.
I live in Iowa's 1st Congressional District, a swing district because it contains Iowa City (home of the University of Iowa, just as liberal as Madison, Wisconsin,) and Johnson County, Iowa. Our current Representative is a good Republican. That's difficult in a mostly Democrat district. Democrats have poured over 2 million dollars into this race to defeat the Republican. Billionaire Trump and the Trump controlled RNC has donated 0 dollars. This tells me all I need to know about Trump's support of the Republican Party candidates.
Money, money, money - she can take remaining campaign funds with her back to LA home, where she can hob-nob with Hollywood celebrities, ignore the serial-abuser faux-husband Emhoff-albatross, and live the Menendez life with her Tiffany pearls, Akris pantsuits, and Sugar Daddy legend.
Tonight comes Hurricane Milton destruction, tomorrow comes the two-day solar storm barely mentioned in MSM. By Sunday, shell-shocked Americans will want a Big Daddy for president, which role Trump knows how to play.
Me, I'll be holed-up in my little Wisconsin city, enjoying what remaining comfortable lifestyle and small town ambiance that remains after this week.
Trump poses a clear and viable threat to special, peculiar, and queer domestic and alien interests, and diverse redistributive change schemes.
She could either be so confident that she will be finagled into the White House, regardless of how mediocre her media performances, or as a person known for her innate laziness and unserious nature, she's ambivalent about actually becoming president as opposed to simply enjoying the fawning media attention and super-nice wardrobe. She reminds me of Barbie, with the wardrobe and heels, many outfits for many occasions, but not really dealing with real world.
Or maybe Trump is confident enough to not be rope-a-doped into more MSM muggings. After Hurricane Milton, solar storm, and Israel escalating war with Iran, people will reject suburban tennis-mom Kamala as ready to do with major shit.
Ann Althouse is a law professor and intellectual. She voted for Hillary Clinton. She does not acknowledge the existence of the 9th and 10th amendments.
Having people like this in charge has never ended well.
Standard October closing action. The polls before this had the standard Dem +15% we always see in august and september.
Mostly foreign investment and people who are going to jail if there is any scrutiny applied to Washington DC corruption.
"I believe she will be smart and ..."
Just think how stupid you have to be to support Kamala Harris and say something like this.
Kamala is smarter than this idiot.
Some of which was gatherered legally
With that kind of money out in the open you've got to wonder what is going on behind the scenes, the so-called ground game? I worry about the mail-in ballots, signature verification above all. It's a very subjective thing, lots of room for bias or worse.
I appreciate it when nevertrumpers show everyone how ignorant they are.
Stupid fascist says stupid things. New at 11.
Gotta make sure they can keep throwing their political opponents in jail.
Because Kamala Barbie has same problem as Hillary had - not likeable. She has a unsavory back-history of sugar daddies, sex for career advancement, little genuine personal work-responsibility, and sham marriage to a stinker of a guy. She cake-walked into a series of California appointed and elected spots, with little to no legitimate competition or vetting. She's vapid, vain, an aging arm-piece for successful men, prematurely elevated to national attention by Biden seeking a "poison pill" term-duration insurance policy.
Her media campaign isn't accomplishing its goal. Kamala is still attractive only to AWFLs, and poorly-informed college-educated progressive-liberals. She's a packaged virtue-signal, but not ready for prime time presidency, as amply demonstrated in every soft-ball pseudo-interview MSM puff piece she does. The porno podcast was disrespectful to Presidency.
Ugh, she's worse than expected! My progressive-liberal female friends are dismayed, disheartened. Their exuberant joy already extinguished.
But I'm in Western Mass. and not one of the contiguous states, CT, VT, NY would ever think of voting for Trump.
Here is my question: In 2016, the Progressive Democrats were shocked to their toes to discover they had lost, and spent the next 5 years taking offense. There was no other reason for the loss, aside from Hillary being a completely unlikable and cynically power-hungry waste of meat that provoked enough distaste that voters turned to Trump as their vote against her. The Progressive Democrat machine spent a fortune, compared to Trump in that election, too, what was it, 2x - 3x?
Assuming that Progressive Democrats have grudgingly accepted that character and human decency matters in a candidate, at least to certain classes of voters, what has been done to improve Kamala's appeal in this election?
I ask, because everything I'm seeing appears to be geared to television watchers. But I'm not plugged into social media, Tik Tok and so on. I know her rallies seem to attract bus fleets, but not the curious. What else has been done?
Again, I'm highly suspicious of Red Wave theorizing, and trying to see what I'm missing.
I guess we know where the missing FTX cash ended up.
"At trial, the court heard from an accounting expert who said that $11.3bn in customer funds were supposed to be held at Alameda Research, FTX’s hedge fund arm. But only $2.3bn could be located. The rest had gone toward investments, political contributions, charity foundations and real estate purchases. FTX, remarkably, had left almost no records of transactions."
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2024/mar/27/where-did-ftx-money-go
so our Life Long Republican wants the RNC to spend ALL of it's money tilting at windmills in the People's Republic of Johnson County..
Makes sense! the way to WIN; is to pick races you ARE GOING TO LOSE
I think people need to stop blaming Trump for what the GOP does and start blaming the actual GOP. If they GOP had their way, Trump would not be the candidate.
Enigma - Billions of cash disappeared from FTX when it went under. I'd strongly suspect at least some of that cash is making its way into the Kamala war chest.
I think the democrats believe that they have sufficient control over the election infrastructure in the critical swing areas that they aren't dependent on voting. If we're lucky they may not have as much control this election cycle as they think.
Its not in play to win, but Trump will certainly do better than any other Republican in recent memory. I don't think his California rally is about winning the state - I believe he's trying to win the popular vote to ensure that he is seen as legitimate and has a mandate for his agenda. Also he wants to win by every metric as a big FU to 2020
Wisconsin has dropped from $2.47 when I first placed bets down to $2.17 now. Take any public poll and add between 4 - 6 points in favour of Trump to get an idea of the true percentages and you understand why these states are being bucketed with money.
One sugar daddy that we know of, though a very powerful one. I doubt Montel advanced her career.
It's a problem when the dogs don't like the dog food.
Define 'good Republican'. Is he like a lot of 'good Republicans', i.e. they know how to lose gracefully, and know that winning actually means the Long Haul in the Safe Minority? Or is he a really 'good Republican' that is so effective at governance and does so much for all of his constituents, that he keeps his seat in good times and bad? I guess you've answered that, huh.
I'm from Iowa (originally) and I remember your last series of comments whining about this situation mentioning your rep only won by a handful of votes, which means you were in the 2nd in 2020 which Marion Miller-Meeks won by 6 votes. Looks like during the reapportionment/redistricting the 2nd and 1st swapped most of their territory so she ran in the 1st in 2022, and won by a handy 7%. She's running against the same candidate she beat in 2022, and 270toWin rates the race as leans Republican. In other words, she's probably not getting any money from the GOP (according to you) because she doesn't need it.
Billionaire Trump and the Trump controlled RNC has donated 0 dollars. This tells me all I need to know about Trump's support of the Republican Party candidates.
Since you're so quick to tell other people how they should be spending their money, just how much have YOU contributed to the race?
Of course you can buy the bad players in the GOP who convince voters to stay home or 'their votes will be stolen.' Textbook demoralization campaign run by Steve Bannon, Jenny Beth Martin and the Kochs in Georgia which lost us the Senate and will lose us the presedency.
If you don't understand this, you don't understand much at all about politics on the ground. Where it's fucking harder than blogging. Sorry, but it takes real, and unrenumerated work. Blogging is easy, I think you would agree, compared with driving to 100 meetings and enduring sleazy, well-paid, reputation-destroying oppo abuse and mind-boggling naivety by the well-meaning people.
I can't do it anymore.
And just for everybody else's clarification, all four Iowa Reps are Republicans and per 270toWin none are rated lower than Toss-up, and the only one consistently rated toss-up is Zach Nunn in IA-3.
Both Nunn and Miller-Meeks have raised significantly more than the average Congressional candidate in the 2024 cycle per Open Secrets. Miller-Meeks has gotten almost $1.5 million from PACs (including other candidate committees), and $1.5 million from large donors. Nunn has about $1.5 million each from those sources.
Once you understand LLR-democratical lonejustice, praised heartily by one LLR-democratical Chuck prior to his ignominious departure from Althouse blog due to being exposed as a pure New Soviet Demcratical shill, is simply cut from the same cloth as Chuckles The Departed, ALL of lonejustice's comments make perfect sense.
"I appreciate it when nevertrumpers show everyone how ignorant they are."
LLR-democratical lonejustice races onto Althouse blog each and every day to prove just how much of a loser democratical buffoon he is and why he is an embarrassment to the entire Althouse Blog LLR-democratical Brigade.
LLR-democratical lonejustice: "Billionaire Trump and the Trump controlled RNC has donated 0 dollars. This tells me all I need to know about Trump's support of the Republican Party candidates."
Ah, it makes sense to me now: On May 19, 2021, Miller-Meeks was one of 35 Republicans who joined all Democrats in voting to approve legislation to establish the January 6 commission meant to investigate the storming of the U.S. Capitol.
You watch your mouth mister. There are ladies present....
"Democrats have poured over 2 million dollars into this race to defeat the Republican. Billionaire Trump and the Trump controlled RNC has donated 0 dollars.". The more I think about this, the weirder it gets. What are we supposed to do, then? 'Not' vote for Trump because he isn't doling out the cash? Vote for Kamala, because her party is? I don't understand the point you're trying to make.
The only bad players in the GOPe in GA are the Zuckerburg purchased loathsome Raffensberger and his merry band of "gop" democratical helpers.
How's your finger, buddy?
Worried about you.
Headline: "Ex-CBS News reporter says there’s ‘precedent’ for releasing full interview transcript — when it came to Donald Trump"
Do'h!
By November
, I'm gonna need new mute and fast forward buttons for my clicker.
"Does anyone complain about all the money in politics?"
The people who used to complain about all the money in politics (Democrats) no longer complain because now Democrats raise more than Republicans.
We are living in a remarkable time in human history, when a single crudely drawn meme created by an autistic basement-dweller on 4Chan can put a torpedo into a $10 million television advertising campaign.
"What are we supposed to do, then?"
LLR-democratical lonejustice is working a 5th column movement to attack Trump while claiming to be a republican who is voting for Trump but is really all about helping the New Soviet Democraticals.
It's not complicated. It's every bit the LLR-democratical Chuck and LLR-democratical Rich schtick.
It is a matter of diminishing returns. The difference between having some money and no money is huge, as being able to get your message out there is very important. The difference between getting your message out there and getting your message out there twice as much is less impactful. At some point you flood the airwaves with the ads so much that the audience either zones them out or becomes annoyed and this extra effort might be a net negative.
There was a study some years ago about how important ads were to victory. The conclusion was they had minimal effect, at least in their current incarnation.
Do keep in mind that a lion's share of the money goes to consultants. They don't really care if it is effective as long as they get paid. Of course, they are the "experts" so of course you need to spend lots and lots of money if you want to win.
Perhaps. However, Kamala is a terrible politician so this is probably the best she can do. She was added to the Biden ticket as a literal DEI hire who had the bonus of being so awful that she was no threat to Biden. Then Biden's senility became so bad that they couldn't hide it, and the Dems really had no choice but to prop up Harris for multiple reasons. If Biden had imploded before the primaries, Harris would not be the nominee.
She ‘loathes’ finance. That’s deadly for civilization…
I agree with Cameron that it is a ploy to possibly win the popular vote.
So many sheep hate trump so much - they are willing to go full Maduro.
Nobody complains about money in politics if it helps My Team win...
I wouldn't slag M M-M for that vote too much. It was a good vote for her. Lonejustice isn't lying about the composition of the district she's in. The Dems controlled the House, so there was no way the GOP was going to stop the creation of the J6 Commission, and this was before we knew that Pelosi was going to break with all previous House norms to stack it with Nevertrump RINOs.
I'll reiterate that he is lying about how likely she is to be defeated so it's not retaliation more than she simply doesn't need the extra funding.
That's not the budget, it's the deficit.
Emhoff and Walz expect their expenditures to be comped, wherever they go, whatever they consume taxpayers and/or vendors stuck with the bills. Bet the Harris campaign contributors also stuck paying for the expensive Tiffany pearls, Manolo Blahnik pumps, and Akris pantsuits worn by Kamala --- only 1st class for this high-priced arm-candy girl.
Those damned Republican money hoarders-who-steal-from-the-poor giving money to Kamala. How dare they!
Harris isn't raising that money. Trump is raising it for her on the Don't Come.
"expansive operation of offices and staff in the seven battleground states and beyond"
Simply put, harvesting mail in ballots. So Harris wins.
