Still hard for me to think of them as National League. They are always American League in my mind, as I was born in '70.

Congratulations. Houston Astros just managed to clinch a winning season and if lucky, they will be the last to clinch a division title.

Can't believe how tough a year my local Rangers had. Oh well, always have 2023.

This Cubs fans is thinking about channeling Ricky Bobby this morning.
"If you ain't first, you're last."
Note the impact of managerial changes on both clubs.

They sure maximize the return on their small market investment. Let's see if it's another early playoff exit.

I spent some time in Milwaukee this summer - my first time there. We thoroughly enjoyed the city. One day, through our boat club, we checked out a boat to cruise up the river, docked at a brewery, had some lunch and some good beer. Nicely done, Milwaukee!

(I was born in LaCrosse but only lived there while my dad was in Vietnam; both sets of grandparents and many aunts and uncles lived there for many years, so I have fond memories of that side of the state, but though my remaining family seem to have settled in Door Country now and I dearly love visiting there, I had never spent time on the lake side of the state - besides Door County - until this summer.)

The Cubs paid Craig Counsell tens of millions to lure him away from Milwaukee. He’s produced virtually the same record as in 2023. Oddly, the Chicago press isn’t tearing him a new one… yet.

The criticism is more directed to Jedd Hoyer, team President, for the roster.

They close the roof too much.

Still hoping my D'backs and Tigers can both clinch a wild card berth.

The Brewers are a fun team to watch. Lots of fans were upset with Counsell taking the money and running to the north side of Chicago but I think Pat Murphy is an upgrade. The perfect ending to this season would be seeing Jackson Churio as World Series MVP before he's old enough to drink.

Once again Craig Counsell wins a division title for the Brewers!

Congratulations! As a lifetime KC Royals fan, I will never completely get used to the Brewers being in the NL.

I’ve got 13 years on you and it’s hard for me too.

The revenue driven tournament format (lots of teams) that MLB uses to select its champion suffers from the relative short term unpredictability of a team's pitching in a short series. Teams that get hot can beat stronger opponents. It makes the regular season less consequential than it ought be.

First, yet they'll still be playing a wildcard game, right?

Nobody in Wisconsin west or north of Waukesha goes to Milwaukee unless it is to a Brewers game.
For once, baseball was fun to watch this year. Love Murphy and his rag tag team who look like a bunch of kids having a good time playing together.

They’ve been in the NL now almost half their existence. They were the Seattle Pilots their first year.

Its like watching a game in a factory.
