(Don't the parties hold election conventions anymore, where they "select"--ratify--the candidate? I know the process of delegates deciding on the candidate through a vote--preceded by intense back-room deal-making--is essentially extinct today, but can't the Democrats refuse to stand behind Biden and put forth another candidate? Since when are the parties required to support or abide by party leaders--to accept a candidate if there is a rift between convention delegates and the party leadership?)

The only relevant mention that I saw is that the article claimed--without further elucidation--that the prosecution needed to prove that the armorer brought the live rounds to the site. Don't know why that should be the case, but facts are missing. The smoking gun appears to be the claim that at least one of the bullets turned into police by a third party (friend of the armorer's family) resembled/was identical to the round that actually killed the victim.
Again, why is this relevant, exactly? And was the round truly indistinguishable from the fatal round?
