"Meta on Friday said it would soon roll back restrictions it placed on former President Donald Trump's Instagram and Facebook accounts."

"The company said it was making the change to ensure parity among presidential candidates leading up to the 2024 election."

I love the delicate tension between "soon" and "ensure parity."

Does this mean Biden has lost Zuck?

It means that as smart as Zuck allegedly is, it's taken him this long to realize he struck at the king in 2020 and didn't kill him.

Ensure parity? Is Meta saying Biden and Trump will have equal one-for-one access to Instagram and Facebook? Is Meta lying? Does Meta even speak English?

According to John McWhorter Biden doesn't. Not anymore. Instead, what issues from FJB's remaining brain matter is a pidgin. Or is it a creole? Whatever. I look forward to an actual word-for-word, utterance-for-utterance transcript of the Big Boy Press Conference in Biden's native tongue.

Peter Doocey: Your opponent accuses you of graft.

President Biden: No wahala. Boss fellah China man him gimme plenty cargo.

"... such as oblique references to QAnon."

I see, "oblique references..".

How loud does the dog whistle have to sound?

Based on Zuck's ears not too damn loud.

So: The Publisher has made a decision about election fairness, eh?

Bravo. Bravo. *slow clap*

We can read between the lines on thus.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the 2924 election.

"Parity" nor a basic adherence to truth didn't stop Komrade Zuckerberg before.

No, methinks the House committee on government weaponization started hitting a little too close to the Mark. Now, he's trying to get ahead of the hunting pack and create some false deniability.

The subpoena and lawsuits are coming...

Again- just like my comment in the newer post about Maureen Dowd's article.
We're weirdly so used to the social media giants censoring opposing political or social views from the accepted and approved far left views that this 'outburst' of what should be normal behavior, is made to seem like a Great Event. It's neither a great event or great awakening. And, it hasn't happened yet, so nothing is for sure it's actually happening.

But the idea that you're some sort of Nobel Being by shouting out to the world, "Hey. We've decided in our great noble way, to cease the censorship of Donald Trump and those who speak for him, in the upcoming weeks, or months? We're not sure how long, but we've had this thought of allowing some of his speech. Aren't we good?", is ridiculous.

Aggie--I see what you did there. And you are of course correct.

Damn you, @Quaestor.

Strong horse politics. Fear.

If the Regime is overthrown expect massive antitrust action. It is long overdue.

Zuck will finally get around to it on November 4.

Just opening negotiations with the anti-trust division of the newly reformed Department of Justice.

Wait! I thought allowing Trump's voice to be heard was a threat to democracy and world peace!

Are you now telling me that is not so? Was it just a ploy to silence the opposition? Why the change? Why now?

They are lying, they are currently censoring speech in Europe per the left-wing elites, they will do the same in the US. Only X is free speech.

Good point. Of course they also concede that for years they haven't practiced "parity."

But how many Zuckerbucks will go into vote buying & fraud enabling this time?

I used Facebook happily for many years, but I quit it when Trump was banned.

Zuck is running a commie organization.

Hopefully Trump's DOJ will break up his entire operation.

I'm more concerned with how much Zuck will be spending on election officials this time around.

Well...I guess I wrote 'Nobel Being' instead of Noble Being.

I hate spelling errors.

Facebook is currently blocking direct links to the actual Project 2025 website, but letting all kinds of left wing propaganda about Project 2025 through.

Although on the one being posted to Veteran's groups is has posted this: Missing context
Independent fact-checkers say this information is missing context and could mislead people. You can choose whether to see it.
That would be the post that had Inga so upset.

All social media should be treated as common carriers- no censorship allowed. I do like X's community notes- which is the exact opposite of censorship. Allow the people to point out lies immediately.

Sebastian: "But how many Zuckerbucks will go into vote buying & fraud enabling this time?"

Zuckerburg owns the loathsome Raffensberger and Sperling crew in GA, as well as the utterly fake "republican" Stephen Richer and the McCain machine morons in Maricopa County as well as PA, WI, MI.

And we know the Soros DA's and DOJ/FBI is primed to go after anyone who might call attention to all the clear cheating that went on in 2020 and is already set to go for 2024, probably with significant assistance of the NSA on background, all hidden in the National Security Division of the DOJ, so its going to be a very uphill climb indeed.

However, the same ploys used in 2020 to get rid of all the republican observers in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Detroit and Milwaukee only to start up counting again behind windows that were covered up will probably not work this time when the ballot trucks arrive.

All that seems plausible to me, except the part about the 2024 election. I don't think Facebook would have done this if they didn't think Trump already had this election in the bag.

They know their efforts are futile now, so by abandoning them, they get off the radar of an incoming Administration with blood in its eye for enemies in Silicon Valley.

It will also help maintain engagement among their conservative users, who are feeling mutinous at Facebook's obvious left-wing bias. As Facebook becomes more and more of an old folks' home, this will be important to their bottom line.

Ensure parity or cover their rears in case Trump wins.

I thought they claimed there were no restrictions? No banning or Shadow banning or throttling or anything. What they should do is go impose all of that nastiness on the people who pushed real false information that the government wanted pushed.
