Biden got zero "heat" from appointing black people to high posts. Colin Powell was Sec. of State (a higher post than defense) more than 20 years ago and he was followed by Condoleezza Rice. Thurgood marshal was on the Supreme Court more than 50 years ago.
There is nothing brave or groundbreaking about appointing black people to high positions.

I think most Democrats are resigned to Trump winning, so this is the real reason why Biden may be forced out. Virginia Senator and Hillary's 2016 VP pick Tim Kaine (D) is up for reelection this year, and he was previously considered a shoe-in. With Biden performing so poorly, there's a real chance that Biden could crush Democrats in these races.
