ADDED: That's a fast turtle. Now, where was it that I saw a fast turtle? Ah! I remember:We've seen cats. We've seen birds... but a turtle?? đĸ

Maybe it’s a hare that identifies as a turtle?
Looks like a softshell turtle. Those little buggers can scoot, and don't taste half bad either.
The semiaquatic turtles belonging to the family Emydidae, such as the sliders, can be remarkably fast-moving. As I lad I kept a large yellow-earred slider as a pet. On the carpet, he could really book.
The bullpen improves.
Introducing Jorge "Pinchy" Tortuga in center field.
Good speed, medium range.
Terrapin?
They were wise not to corner the beast--they can be dangerous when cornered.
"I thought turtles were slow."
Tortoises are torpid, but terrapins make tracks.
Even the turtles want the game to speed up!

Softshells also have a nasty bite and an unexpectedly long and mobile neck with which to bring that nasty bite into range of arms and fingers. Pick one up without knowing the technique and you'll know this for a fact.
The bite.
The technique.
I once caught a softshell while fishing for large-mouth bass. I was using a rubber frog lure which the turtle grabbed and swallowed whole. With that treble hook down its gullet, there was no option but to take it as a legit catch. It would certainly die one way or the other. I wasn't really impressed with the meat, however. Tasted fishy in the bad way.

Speed-up? How more insidiously druggy can a big studio movie be?

I guess it depends on the water it came out of, its diet, and how it's prepared. I don't think they're worth the effort (very difficult to clean) but have been fortunate enough to know people who can cook 'em. And yes, I wouldn't dare pick one up.
A slow turtle the speed of a fast turtle.
The turtle needed a fast car...
It's all fun and games until the turtle takes off the index finger of your middle reliever...
city boys.

If I was a ballplayer with a multi-million dollar contract that depended on my being able to productively throw a baseball, you can bet your ass I wouldn't be picking up any stray animals.
Turtles like speed, they're just not built for it...
Turtle as Speed Racer.
