What’s sad is that now you expect a follow-up story saying how the thief is going to press charges and a judge would likely award him damages.

After Saint Floyd died - and Soros funded DA's were inserted all over the nation - Shoplifting and mob-looting are off the charts.
A nation in decline. Fight back.
Hell of an arm! Sign that fella!
people NEED to realize that Crime is COMPLETELY PERMITTED in our Brave New World..
ANYONE that Tries to stop Crime will find that The Law will come after THEM.
The ONLY Crime is resisting Crime
Quite a lot of support for the store employee in the comments, people are getting tired of this shoplifting shit. When the government chooses to not enforce laws and provide at least a minimum level of security, at some point, people will begin to provide it for themselves.
A new “knockout game”. Instead of the punks randomly hitting people from behind to try and knock them out, we can have law abiding shoppers throw bottles at the punks that are shoplifting…
In Denver metro - King Soopers fired employees who attempted to stop shop-lifters.
Good arm. More action needs to be taken against shoplifters and thief. Stop blaming the victim - I get sick and tired of people being chastised for leaving valuables in their car, parked in their driveway in their neighborhood. You are just tempting the thief like it is your fault they are miscreants. On social media, when people criticize the victim for doing this, I point out their shame is the same as criticizing a rape victim for wearing a short skirt. Some old fashioned frontier justice would go a long way to cutting the crime rate.
Remember The Bad Old Days? back when there was:
The 1st World (the Democratic Republics of the West)
The 2nd World (the Totalitarian Dictatorships of the East)
The 3rd World (the scumhole pieces of sh*t, that were THE REST OF THE WORLD)
???
Good News! Now the ENTIRE World is: scumhole pieces of sh*t
Even Better News!
We've Already seen the BEST the world will EVER be (in happiness, productivity, income, progeny, Everything)
It's ALL downhill from here.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
Honest people work hard so that:
-Biden family corruption via Ukrainian and Chinese money laundering for their personal fortunes all ignored by US media and given a pass by FBI and corrupt Merrick DOJ.
-Shoplifting is off the charts.
-Crime is off the charts. Car theft is off the charts. Inflation is off the charts.
-Millions of Illegal border crossings allowed by Biden's corrupt abuse of the asylum system - and we are all paying billions to fund illegal entrants. (media dutifully call "migrants")
Biden will easily win re-election even tho he is a old husk-puppet and walking dumpster fire.
On the 21st century, there will be a war between the 20th century and the 7th century..
The 7th century is winning
“Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”
Guy forgot his Coke. Store clerk was just trying to help. Things go better with Coke!
The bottle-thrower is expressing the disapproval by society of the lawless behavior of the cart-pusher (thief).
Ordinarily, we expect society itself, through its law enforcement mechanisms, to express that disapproval for us. Everyone's happy to have someone else do it for them, because policing is a messy job. But if society refuses to carry out that role, individuals will step into it, with mixed results.
But we shouldn't blame the vigilantes. That's human nature, against which we establish societal institutions to make vigilantism unnecessary. Take away those institutions, and this is what you have left. One of the jobs of the police is to protect the criminals from the law-abiding, but to do that, they have to enforce the law against the criminals.
Does anyone expect this to get less common, or worse, when the government fails to even TRY to protect the general population?
nice throw
sign him to the Cardinals
That was amazing. I have never seen anything so effectively thrown, from overhead, with two hands before. Was that a 2 liter bottle? Throwing unopened cans of soda at people's heads was common when I coming up. Hurt like Hell if you got hit. Never saw anyone knocked out by it, though.
You gotta be tough to survive South Central.
Feel good video of the day. Also big brains aside, us being able to accurately huck things at other animals must be one of our top tier evolutionary advantages.
Must say that's an accurate throw. Perfect technique for a soccer throw-in. Two hands, bottle behind the head, both feet down. Boom!Down Goes Frazier!

The time is coming when it won't be a Coke bottle- it will be a bullet to the head, and juries in the US will start refusing to convict the vigilante. This is how it already is in crime-ridden urban areas of South America- you fuck around and find out with new, bleeding orifices in your body for just trying to swipe an i-Phone. Google Steve Inman.
that was an overhead, two handed throw, like an inbounds soccer throw.
an immigrant toss :)
There is one absolutely necessary condition for committees of vigilance to thrive: a belief that the law is incapable of punishing criminals or properly meting out justice.
Context matters. Was the thief also voicing threats, as many do here in CA during their crime sprees, in order to intimidate witnesses? The two go hand in hand: organized crime and witness intimidation. I find it sad that employers are so quick to throw employees under the bus when the poor employee is the one literally confronting the evil and the rich CEO sits in a safe office apologizing for a natural reaction like this. This certainly could be a prime example of FAFO.
But maybe I'm wrong and it will turn out differently this time. One can hope.
Good arm. Although he might want to improve his slider for the next time. That came like a four seam fastball.

I would suggest it was closer to "A shoplifter who was caught assaulting a security guard after being caught shoplifting got knocked out by a Coke bottle."
When will we finally get some common sense Coke bottle prohibitions? Should Coke be held liable for its clearly unsafe product?

You never lived in the ghetto, have you? Koreans don't hire anybody outside of their own kind. That's why people steal from them. They come in, build a store with funds from overseas (funds no one else in the area has access to because America sucks) and then they just take shit out of the area without giving anything back. No jobs, no appreciation, no nothing. This is why I'm always talking about blacks trying to survive waves of immigrants coming to this country. You guys always applaud it. Because you're ignorant. And you don't give a damn about your fellow citizen's survival.
You guys don't live in a country, you live in a violently competitive sport.
I'll bet it's not in the US, and that guy is a footballer. That was a throw in. Nice one too.

In defense of an employee who was having carts aggressively pushed into them.
Sure the store is insured against loss, but the store manager isn't. If people steal, your bottom line sucks and you don't get your bonus. Shoplifters aren't just stealing from the store owners, they are taking money from the employees.
How long are we going to put up with this kind of behavior?
I recently saw a video , taken by a black man, in a white neighborhood at night. He walked into the lobby of the local post office, and marvelled at the cleanliness, presence of functioning equipment, and lack of homeless junkies. He wondered aloud, why his neighborhood isn't like that. Indeed.
I could watch that over and over. Not just a perfect toss, but perfect placement.
That was a chicken shit move, and it's a miracle he didn't missed.
He could easily have come up from behind the distracted thief and grabbed him. The security guy seemed to know what he was doing.
Nevertheless, hope thief gets more of what's coming to him.
It seems that the employee/thrower was addressing a legitimate threat to the safety of the person who was in a confrontation with the thief. It seems to have been fairly proportionate action in defense of another.
The person in confrontation with the thief is reported elsewhere as being a shopper not a store employee.
A nice throw, surprisingly effective. And it immediately brought to mind the trend of axe throwing

The argument that insurance will reimburse the theft losses is bogus. Just think of how high the premiums will become if the store ssstains multiple losses. THAT could put a serious dent into the store's profitability. At some point it's not worth doing business in that neighborhood.

Crack, to offer that as a "reason" jusifying blacks stealing from Korens them just shows your brain is as soft as a sneaker full of puppy shit.
You offer the moral reasoning of a cherrystone clam. A SPED cherrystone clam.
The Crack Emcee,
Koreans don't hire anybody outside of their own kind. That's why people steal from them. They come in, build a store with funds from overseas (funds no one else in the area has access to because America sucks) and then they just take shit out of the area without giving anything back. No jobs, no appreciation, no nothing.
"Their own kind!" Look, Crack, these are mostly family businesses. A Korean immigrant family generally does, yes, consist mainly of Korean-Americans. (Just as most carnecerias are owned by Hispanic immigrant families, our local Indian grocer in Salem is staffed entirely by Punjabis, &c.) And those "funds" from "overseas" must be really impressive, to enable them to set up dingy little hole-in-the-wall shops in South Central. But you say it's all take and no give, huh?
What do you want, Crack? Jobs? Well, I hear that South Central has an awful lot of Blacks in it. Perhaps some of them might start hiring "their own kind," yes? But then working long hours in a tiny grocery store isn't really glamorous enough for Thug Life anyway, is it? There are certainly opportunities for work, even in the "ghetto."
Appreciation? How about: I give you this food, you give me some cash for it. That is how retail generally works. I have been in Korean-owned grocery stores. The staff are generally friendly, though not loquacious; English is pretty limited. But the only reason they are in business at all is that someone wants to give them money for food. Only you would prefer to have both the food and the money. Lovely, innit?
“Sure the store is insured against loss, but the store manager isn't. If people steal, your bottom line sucks and you don't get your bonus. Shoplifters aren't just stealing from the store owners, they are taking money from the employees.”
Much of the theft is not insured by insurance companies. At least anymore. It’s often called “shrinkage” and is a cost of doing business. The sad reality is that too much theft, and the businesses shut down. Esp noticeable are the big chains, like Target, Walgreens, etc. They are shutting down their stores in the violent inner cities. The result is that these communities are turning into food and (legal) drug deserts. Worse, they tend to have a low incidence of private vehicles, and taxi companies, Uber, and Lyft are refusing to service those areas.
Currently living by the Strip in Las Vegas is interesting. On the west side, the closer you are to the Strip, the more is locked up. At one Walmart recently, they had Chap Sticks locked up. Go out west as far as Summerlin, and it’s almost normal in the stores. But we had lunch Sunday with my partner’s sister, who lives, with their 90+ year old mother, on the east side. That’s where all the homeless are camped (they aren’t tolerated by the big casinos near the Strip). Same house, for over 40 years, from when it was a nice neighborhood. Of course, we can still get most of what we want the next day through Amazon Prime. But we have really tight security (PDJT spent Sat night here last weekend - we were in the crowd watching him eat a late lunch in the DJT restaurant here, and she said he gave her a thumbs up for her logo jacket. Right).
If it had been a can of Bud Light, A-B could've regained some market share by hiring the thrower as a pitchman.
"You never lived in the ghetto, have you? Koreans don't hire anybody outside of their own kind. That's why people steal from them. So much to unpack here...those 'funds from overseas' are most likely from relatives. If you don't have relatives willing to loan you money you could go to a bank if you have a good business plan and good credit. And don't tell me, 'but banks, black people...' Any bank in the US that discriminates in loans would be crucified.
They don't 'give anything back'? How about they provide a way for you to buy Ding Dongs at midnight. Is that not providing a service? Don't shop at their stores if you don't like it. Open one of your own.
Survival and life are competitive sports. Make good decisions, provide a service people want, and you'll most likely do well in life.
And once more, if I could choose to be black or white in today's world I would choose black every time. The government, along with every single institution, is putting time and money into enabling the success of blacks and minorities. If you're a smart black person, you will be a superstar in business. These days, if you're a white guy, you're pretty much everyone's last choice. The white guys that do well today are exceptionally smart and/or start their own businesses.
Years ago when arresting shoplifters was part of my job, the law was that merchants could detain a shoplifter until the police arrived. It was one of a very few exceptions where an officer could arrest someone for a misdemeanor that he/she did not personally witness.
If the shoplifter resisted detention, and attempted to flee with merchandise, the charge became a felony, robbery, as it was theft by force, even if all they stole was a six pack.
Now of course the local police will likely arrest the store clerk and give the thief a ride back to his tent.
Whatever. I just like to see douche bags get coldcocked. Too bad they don't still put Coke in glass bottles.
Good arm.

Don't forget banning high capacity magazines.
NGL, I walked out of Wal-Mart the other night with several, each of which held 10 rounds of Coke Minis. No one asked for my ID, let alone a background check.
Tort law could be changed to allow immunity for use of reasonable force to stop theft. The law has shifted too far to favor criminals. This is of course, caused by Democratic control of cities and states. To change this people will have to change how they vote. We haven't fallen low enough yet for that to happen. But it may happen. See El Salvador.

Bottom line? America is on the way to "shithole" status.
Bruce Hayden,
"Shrinkage" (or just "shrink") has been around at least for decades. It basically means expected return minus actual, and depending on the situation can be quite high. When I worked at Borders in Emeryville (that shows you how long ago this was), shrink in our store was very high. We attributed this to (1) three different exits from the building, one right into a food court with a movie theater at one end; and (2) the Amtrak station right across the railroad tracks, which brought in a lot of people eager to browse (and/or pilfer), but not to buy. The food court exit was near the CD end of the store -- yes, people still bought CDs in them thar days -- and people kept complaining that the pop and esp. rap CDs were "keepered" (i.e., enclosed in theft-deterring plastic devices that would set of the alarm if you tried to exit with it), and the classical stock was not. I wanted to say, well, there are two different populations looking at these two different sets of bins, and one of them is a helluva lot more likely to take the five-finger discount, if-you-know-what-I-mean-and-I-think-you-do. But that . . . wouldn't be prudent.
The Crack Emcee,
I noticed you didn't say there's a lot of black-owned businesses to do that hiring. You just expect people to hire "their own kind" on the street to,...stand on the street. Fool.
Oh, I think there are many Black entrepreneurs in South Central willing to hire people just to "stand on the street." Men and women alike, albeit in slightly different roles. Don't you?
If the Korean-Americans in South Central (and other places, of course) are drawing on "overseas" resources, it is strange that their places of business are so very small and pathetic-looking. Not too pathetic-looking to steal from, natch; that's what you call "giving back to the community," amirite? As for other immigrant groups, like people from Mexico and Central and South America, the money is all flowing the other way, of course. But that also is evil. Remissions to people "back home" are wrong, and so are "retro-remissions" from anonymous rich relatives overseas, who carefully give their American cousins just enough money to scrape by, at least when their stores aren't being firebombed. Apparently the only fair way to handle things is for LA to fence itself off from the outside world, so that no money enters or leaves. Hey, works for me.
Have a Coke and a smile.

Crack, I know you're a smart guy.
But as a white guy, I don't have any family overseas from which to borrow money.
Now, if the hypothetical Koreans in question are getting government aid not afforded to everyone, that is wrong.
But last time I checked, every level of government has bent over backward for the last 60 years or so to provide training, money, etc. to blacks and minorities in general. It is a gusher of money and resources that you should be taking advantage of.
That, along with your brains and white guilt, will get you pretty goddamn far in this country.

I understand that a Coke bottle makes a semi-plausible silencer.
Once a fast food place is established- and the equipment and loans paid off- it's minting money. Maintenance costs are small compared to paying off that initial investment.
A fast food company, with both franchise owners and company run stores, opened a few stores in black neighborhoods in the NY metropolitan area. Franchise stores. And set the owners up. Hand picked them for demonstrated ability to actually run a store by working as managers in company stores.
The areas were, of course, fast food deserts. No entrepreneur looking at risk/reward probabilities would risk their own money opening a franchise. The stores opened up, and were doing far better then predicted sales numbers. And the same thing happened with all of the stores. After showing these big numbers- corporate started getting phone calls from vendors. Store # whatever was overdue paying it's bills. "Oh, just a hiccup, I'll take care of it." when the fully finances owner was called. After a few months of escalating issues, down went the corporate troubleshooters to assist. After calling, of course, to set a visit up. And they went down to find a shuttered store. The owner missing. And investigation revealed missing with 3-4 months of receipts. With the withholding taxes for the employees not paid, and other questionable stuff. A few years down the road, training others, and these owners would have the loans all paid off, with people trained to run the place while they took long vacations with the money coming in. Instead, they all went for a short term gain and a criminal record when -or if- caught. A few months of receipts is a lot of money- but if you don't know how to manage it, it's not keep you going the rest of your life money.
So tell me Crack Emcee, why isn't Oprah funding small businesses in black neighborhoods? Or the Obamas? Or any other successful black? There's black money out there. But blacks with money aren't investing to open a black owned business in the black community. Why not?
Koreans are. And- as is usual for any FAMILY business, sticking with their own in hiring. Major companies can't do that. A small business can. Doesn't matter if it's Asian of any sort, Puerto Ricans, Italians, Russians, whatever. Growing up in suburban NJ the best local pizza came from a place where the cooks often spoke only Italian, and the rest of the employees Italian as either a first or second language. All either related or hired from a family friend's family.
Imagine in junior high school having the coke bottle guy as an opponent in dodgeball.

You don't know anything about black people, do you? Magic Johnson? Or just black people, obviously. We're the only group of Americans consistently talking about "giving back" and you have the nerve to think that we're not doing anything? What you really want to know, and what I really want to know, is why YOU don't know - and why I do know - what black people do? And then, why aren't white people as well known for doing such things? Why is your reputation mainly for being evil - by comparison? (While saying crazy shit like this?) Maybe, because we know we started with nothing - because of you - and we STILL DO IT. While you figure out new ways to arrogantly position yourself as not a part of America, like an old Southern sheriff.
How hard white people can try to lean on a group of people that you know, and are watching, still emerging from slavery is amazing to me. One of the few people in this country still racking up "firsts" - the first time we ever do something that you guys take for granted - and all you can think to do, every day, is belittle us, misrepresent us, look for the worst in us, and try to elevate yourself in comparison. White Americans are a shameful group of people, still denying a racism they exhibit, every single day.
Koreans using their extended family to fund their enterprises in America is racist.
Got it.
