It seems like the political teams these days- from the local people on up to the White House and the President's team- are as lame a crop of employees as we see all around us in every other business today. In other words, the 'comm's' people at the White House are far more degreed than the person pulling fries out of the basket at McDonald's, but they have the same short attention to detail, maybe even less, and the same lack of grammatical sense in what they end up presenting.

The same mistakes seen by any random young person on social media are found on Government websites, in releases from the White House, and from various Senators and Representatives.

Finding quality help these days is tricky. This mistake on Sen. Hawley's mailer is not something the Senator would have seen or been expected to edit for approval. That's why you hire staff. But it's these small things- the Little Murders- that we see everyday in our society that gives us a series of clues as to which direction our society is going.

It's not up.

Hawley is very invested in the Government defining the number and the associations of the Genders.

Everything is a "social construct" when you are discussing things like this.

At a fundamental level society is about forming a framework for our interactions with each other.

As long as we are just hashing this out amongst ourselves this is a fluid discussion and there is no reason to get all worked up.

The problem is the crazy people on both sides want the government to smash everyone who disagrees with them. And they are going to make sure everyone gets smashed.

And the people on the right just cannot seem to figure out how their actions serve the left in the long run.

As a guy with an English degree it pains me to see the traditional definition of gender absolutely destroyed by the Woke. To his credit old G Gordon Liddy used to rail against the g-word way back in the '90s, when it started being substituted by Progressives in place of the word "sex." Because that was plain speech, which Progressives can never abide. There are two sexes: male and female. Everything else is an aberration and we have special words for exceptions from the rule. But the rule remains: two sexes.

To aid in clear communication to our fellow humans we assign a gender to words sometimes, actor and actress for example. But American English had pretty much gone to non-gendered terms long before the Woke language police arrived. Other languages are more liberal in their gendering, like Spanish where almost every word has a feminine and masculine version. And there are common words in English that we called gender terms: he, his, hers, etc.

Funny how the "Celebrate Diversity!" crowd really does not like to acknowledge differences between male and female people? It's more than adding "fe" to a word, there are SIGNIFICANT differences between the sexes, and that's a wonderful thing.

To some extent, gender is a social construct - consider the various languagees of the world where gender is "built-in". I always had difficulty with French because of its assignment of gender to everything. Use the wrong gender for an article and you get treated like a dummy. I could never understand why some things were feminine and why others were masculine.

In English, we don't assign a gender to everything. "The", "a", etc. are genderless or neuter. We usually only use gender terms (he, she, etc.) when referring to people or things that we have anthormorphized.

Still, the survey made a stupid mistake - or maybe it was sabotaged by a staffer?

To be fair, unlike a loaf of bread, an apple pie, or a figgy pudding, a baby needs to be fully baked under narrow and nurturing conditions. A mother is a lady is a woman with a womb and knows how to use it. That said, life is not so short nor confining that women and men of equal rights and complementary Nature/nature are not productive in physical and mental capacity.

Our new brilliant Supreme Court Justice seems to agree with Hawley's staffer. Can't define "woman" so I guess that leaves men as the only gender.
