Another controversial royal wedding coming up, in Japan, Princess Mako and her lawyer boyfriend. So controversial that it turned up on Radio Japan just now.
Big news for Glendale, Hardin County Ky. A new Ford battery plant is coming to a 1500 acre site in Glendale, Ky which will provide 5,000 new jobs by 2025. This is a site that Ky was hoping that Hyundai Motor Company would choose for their new auto plant almost twenty years ago but they went to Alabama instead.
Recently there was news locally that something big could be happening concerning the mega-site in Glendale. When Obama was in office there was some hope that a big battery plant would be located there, but Obama, so that didn't happen. I remembered that state officials were once hopeful of getting a battery plant there and I knew that Ford was going big in electric vehicles and I just had a feeling that it was Ford that was interested in the mega-site and wanting to go along for the ride I invested a significate amount of money in Ford stock which at the time was a good value trading well off it's recent high and was being recommended by some of the CNBC fast money crew. My Ford stock is already up 8% since I bought it and is up 4% after today's market close.
Ultimately I make not make any money on my investment but I'll enjoy the fact a big factory is coming to Hardin Co., Ky.
I like this description of an incident on board a plane. It's so now.
A passenger, Khalil El Dahr, “attempted to make a telephone call and became angry about the call’s unsuccess.” He “pulled himself out of his seat and rushed toward the flight deck yelling to be shot in the Spanish language.” A flight attendant (FA) “physically redirected El Dahr into the area in front of the front row before the galley.” Unfortunately “as the JetBlue FA had El Dahr corralled in the area before the galley on the right side of the plane, a flight crew officer opened the cockpit door.” Mr. El Dahr was alert and “observed the door open and then grabbed the JetBlue FA by their collar and tie with one hand while using his other hand to grab the overhead compartment to gain leverage to kick. [so good to see pronouns observed even during this account of a gripping drama. Though I did wonder how many were gripping but then I'm old school. (Call me Ishmael.)] As the JetBlue FA was kicked in the chest, El Dahr yelled for the flight crew officer to shoot him. While El Dahr was yelling, he was still holding the JetBlue FA by their tie. This resulted in the tie tightening and ultimately prevented the JetBlue FA from breathing. In response, the JetBlue FA released El Dahr to loosen the tie to prevent from being choked and incapacitated. The JetBlue FA was then able to loosen the tie and grab hold of El Dahr to prevent him from successfully breaching the galley area and gaining access to the flight deck.” Then help arrived. “When the second JetBlue FA responded to the front of the plane, they [Do all Jet Blue FA's use they/their as pronouns? Why?] observed El Dahr grab the first JetBlue FA by the tie and punch them in the chest. The second JetBlue FA then assisted to get El Dahr restrained. One of the restraints used was a pair of flex cuffs provided by an off-duty FA on board the flight. The flex cuffs were applied to El Dahr’s wrists, but El Dahr resisted so much that El Dahr was able to break the cuffs and free himself. After, a second pair was fastened along with at least four seat belt extenders to secure El Dahr to a seat in the back of the plane.” Incident closed. Just thought people might like to see how to write an incident report these days. Jet Blue seems to have an excellent crew, unfazed by any bizarre situation from pronouns to attempted hijackings. But we've travelled a long way from airlines as I first knew them.
I know it's a sunrise, but, doesn't it seem like it's always evening at this time of the year?
I was looking for the best description of the filtered dimness of Fall light, leading to these shorter days. The Farmers Almanac explains this as the positioning of the Sun during the Autumn months. Less daylight makes time speed up.
I like my simpler explanation: Time flies when you're having fun.

Beautiful shot.
Beautiful shot.
"And they don’t believe in our nation. I don’t believe they believe in our nation . . . You’re not going to have a country left."
It's too bad Trump is the one to say it, but at least he did.
What say you, Althouse, rational moderate liberal? Do you think they believe in our nation? Do you think we'll have a country left?

Zero cost. $3.5 trillion for shipping and handling.
Can I comment on Noe Biden allegedly owing a half million dollars in back taxes?
Probably Chinese flex cuffs. As the box containing the "lifesaving" masks proudly states, "Not For Prevention Of Disease, Made In China".
