"The dissolving of one of America's most enduring transfer-of-power rituals — the outgoing president welcoming the incoming president on the steps of the North Portico..."
"... and then riding with them to the United States Capitol — is just one of the snubs the Trumps are perpetrating as they leave Washington.
Instead of a president and first lady, the Bidens will be greeted by the White House chief usher Timothy Harleth, according to a source familiar with the day's events and planning.... The Inauguration Day snub of the Biden's comes on the heels of a series of broken norms and childish behavior that comes directly from the President of the United States, who has been vocal about his disinterest in preserving any semblance of decency towards the man who will succeed him.
Trump, according to several sources, is even mulling whether to write a letter to Biden to leave for him in the Oval Office, a standard-bearing tradition.
Melania Trump, who has not been seen in public in more than two weeks, has not reached out to Jill Biden, dashing expectations she would continue the passing along of hospitality to her successor, hosting her for a tour.
Even after contentious election cycles, first ladies and presidents have set aside hard feelings and ego, no matter how bruised, until now...."

You are an idiot Howard. Go play with your alphabet blocks.
Tim in Vermont,
20% is likely a very high estimate of enlisted and junior officer personnel voting Democrat in 2020. I would go further and say that would be a high estimate for anyone in any uniformed paramilitary occupation, including police, prison guards, and private security. People who daily deal with Democrat constituents and voters.
Note CNN has no concern over the left breaking our norms by embracing blacklists.

.@RepCohen on his concerns w/ the National Guard securing the Inauguration: “The [National] Guard is 90 some-odd percent male; and only about 20 percent of white males voted for Biden … there are probably not more than 25% of the people there protecting us that voted for Biden”
Questioning the loyalty to our country of the National Guard based on the actions of a couple hundred people whose motives we don’t even understand yet. That’s “normal.”
This is honestly getting scary. When does the purge of the National Guard to rid it of Trump voters begin?
*********************
Before that happens, how about WE use loyal National Guard members to purge the fascists attempting to subjugate us right in front of our very eyes?

Others have noted the ease with which some law enforcement types side with whoever provides their paycheck.
"THEY don't even believe it. They are like trolls, goading, taunting, harassing...it goes with the territory. "
I've been struck by this as well. They so obviously don't believe they legitimately won and it scares the shit out of them. The censorship, the gaslighting, the hysteria, the rings of soldiers. Like they're furiously clicking their ruby slippers in the hope that they can somehow change the truth before it catches up to them.
I'm optimistic, folks. This has the stink of desperation and unintended consequences all over it.
What's the over/under on how many minutes into Biden's inaugural address the nation gets that "gulp" feeling?
With the accusations that emerged about pro-marxist The Lincoln Project founder Weaver and his grooming of young boys which led to the FakeCons tossing Weaver overboard, I am beginning to get a much clearer picture of precisely why a certain LLR-lefty from Michigan was such a passionate and vocal advocate for Weaver all this time.
Sorry all, I've not read, nor even skimmed, all 207 comments so apologies if this is a repeat.
Trump is doing Biden a YUGE favor by not being at the Inauguration. YUGE! All manner of nasty and unpleasant things would be directed at both men. The event would not be solemn, it would be raucous and, dare I say, unseemly.
This is no snub, this will be the most peaceful transfer of power EVAH.
Puleeze.
One of America's most enduring tranfer-of-power rituals was ritually dissolved when Obama and Biden gave approval to start unmasking dozens (hundreds?) of US citizens looking for dirt on a campaign from the opposing party. When they created an entire fraudulent Russia collusion case with the help of their friends in the State Dept. FBI, CIA and media companies. The stink left over from the Obama team is still stinking up Washington and back for four more years.
I fear it's a stink we'll never get off of any of us. CNN can kiss my ass. Their stench still hangs in the air.
We've all been gagging on their crap for years now and frankly, I knew when Obama never left town that his work was not done.
My best guess is that Trump won Pennsylvania by 100k votes.
It is hard to get angry at Biden, he is an old man with a bitter old wife, and he has dementia.
I wish I could make it better for him -----
I am fairly certain that Trump won Michigan fair and square too.
And Nevada.
Trump would be a fool to show up at the inauguration of the dementia ridden puppet.
Let Pence do it, Pence is not a stand up guy and we do not expect any better from him.
Childish behaviour? After all they've said and done to him? Bite me.

Remember the rule. Trust no one above O-6.
I spent years interviewing and examining recruits. I have a pretty good idea how they think and why they join.
Re: Keystone pipeline, $5 gasoline, coming up. I hope you folks Up North who voted for Biden* enjoy your higher heating oil costs.
This thing started out as 13 colonies. The colonists rightfully feared a Central Government unless the Bill of Rights were included in the Constitution before they would sign on.
It worked for awhile. It started out with the expression that men have God given rights that can not be infringed by Government. That thought was Revolutionary. Between the Kings and the Catholic Church, no one ever whispered that idea.
The idea that men have God-given rights....it was preposterous. It was Revolutionary.
The Holy of Holies in the Temple was curtained off to man, who could not speak to God directly. Then some hippy came to this world we live in and wandered around for a while.
His name was Jesus, and TPTB hated Him. There were those who were healed by Him, by the Grace of God. This hippy talked about this illusion. With faith, you could say to a mountain, 'Move', and the mountain would move. Impossible to understand. Except, with God, all things are possible.
This thing we had was built on the idea that God is first.
We succumbed to experts, aroused in their fascination with modern man, who wear masks when they are told. Men with no chests, who shelter in place. To be safe. To stay safe.
There is nothing new under the sun.

You'd think they'd bother to explain exactly how "enduring" the ritual was. Has it been going on for fifty years? A hundred? Two hundred? No need for details, I guess, as long as the headline and lead paragraph give the reader the party line.
Never mind trying to pass off what is mostly an opinion piece -- look at all those adjectives! -- as a "report." This wouldn't have passed muster in my junior high school newspaper, but hey, "This is CNN."
I remember Michelle Obama being mystified by Melania's generous Tiffany's gift last inauguration day. Unsophisticated gauchery or guilty conscience.
Trump has plenty of reason to hate these tools, and no reason to lend them legitimacy. At some point, playing along is the chump's game rather than the high road. We're easily at that point now.
Which reminds me—here's a prediction: Biden will be out of office by March 1. President Harris will select Michelle Obama, the most popular person in the world, as her VP. When President Harris resigns ahead of the 2022 House elections the counter revolution will be complete and the military industrial complex will once again completely rule.
What a nightmare for Bernie and Trump supporters. Sad.
My bet is June. They can keep him isolated until then, and start dropping hints around March that he has "health problems."
Michelle won't be the VP. I'd bet Buttigeig before Michelle. Either him, or a hispanic woman.
the military industrial complex will once again completely rule
More like the technocrats will completely rule.
The inauguration will be a quick one. Joe needs a nap. Dr. Jill needs to figure out where to set up her surgery.
Oh..how many of these transfers happened during an impeachment witch hunt? After a prior shampeachment and previous witch hunt begun before his inauguration?
Sooooo insulting!
They don't give a sh*t about an "enduring transfer-of-power ritual". What really ticks them off is they won't be able to use Trump's presence as an opportunity to legitimize The Asterisk's installation as president.

So just like for the last 12 months, i guess for the next 48 we shall read predictions that Biden will be gone shortly.
Bullshit.
Rigging did the work while they grifted and sought dick sucking.
Celebrate the impending caravans and one party rule.
Conserving Conservatism.
I'm a bit unclear about the whole National Guard thing. Trump is still CIC, so it makes sense they are not regular Army, but who is in charge? I guess in the VA suburbs it would be the VA gov, but what about DC proper? Does the mayor of DC have the right to call out the National Guard? Who is in charge?
Young Hegelian:
Not only are there troops all over downtown D.C., with live ammo and under Trump's command, there are reported to be armed Coast Guard cutters enforcing a no-boating ban on the Potomac and Anacostia rivers. (Supposedly pickups full of men in camo suits and loaded with kayaks were seen heading north to D.C., which would help explain that.) The Canadian and Mexican borders are also closed, supposedly due to Covid.
We'll know in in just about exactly 36 hours whether Trump has an information MOAB big enough to cancel Biden's inauguration. I think he probably does. It's the only thing that makes sense of the huge military preparations: they're to fend off last-minute hordes of BLMs and Antifas trying to storm Trump's reinauguration. An info MOAB is likely to include proof that the Chinese helped fix the election (Pompeo has specifically stated that they did) and that lots of bigwigs in both parties knew it, so the fence and the Coast Guard cutters and the border closures would help in apprehending any proven traitors who try to skip town, or skip the country, to escape arrest. As I've said, we shall soon see.
And for those asking me to lay down money bets on my prediction, I have many faults, but being a damned fool is not one of them, and I'd have to be a damned fool to enter a bet with anyone I know only as an easily-denied name in a website comment section. The only one here I know in real life (or at least the only one I know for sure that I know in real life) is Young Hegelian. He might be able to convince me to make a bet, but the rest of you can forget it. And he knows my real name and e-mail.
What does Baseless Biden stand for:
- Low wages for his U.S. Chamber of Commerce buddies.
- High energy prices for his "climate crisis" buddies
- Gun bans for his criminal buddies and sticking it to the American citizens
- Large illegal immigrant caravans for his election fraud buddies
Churchy (10:48pm):
According to the QuodVerum gang (which, to repeat, has nothing to do with Q and is utterly hostile to Q morons), only a governor can call out the National Guard in domestic contexts, except in D.C., which has no governor and is under federal rule, which means that only the President can call out the National Guard there. He's got a 4-star general with heaps of combat experience commanding them. It looks quite serious. Another thing Pompeo has tweeted recently is that China is pretty much waging war on us, and that they are "here, not there". He seems to be implying that any BLM/Antifa uprising would likely have very well-armed and well-trained Chinese and probably Iranians mixed in, which would require a strong military response. In other words, there's some danger of an actual insurrection that would make the January 6th "insurrection" look like the pathetic role-playing farce that it was. As I said, we shall soon see. Anyone working in D.C. really needs to take a day off on Wednesday, though an information MOAB is more likely to be dropped tomorrow. Putting it off to Wednesday morning would be cutting it awfully close. Interesting times!
"Biden will start a war with someone."
Whatever war he starts, I'll wager that our losses are less than 400,000. Even money.

I wonder … does that also translate to 75/25 for Trump wrt military ballots?
so what about "99% military ballot" batches added to vote tally for Biden?
Wait, what? Mr. Biden’s allies are busy pushing an unprecedented impeachment of President Trump to be tried after he leaves office, solely for the purpose of exacting revenge, and President and Mrs. Trump is supposed to turn the other cheek and welcome Mr. and Mrs. Biden to the White House. C’mon, you gotta be kidding me.
Dr Weevil thinks the Quodverum gang- which as he says, is hostile to Q, is correct and that Biden won't be inaugurated Wednesday. In which case he also agrees with Voxday and his commenters, who think Biden won't be inaugurated Wednesday, and where Q is often discussed along with his (their?) cryptic drops. There is disagreement among Q followers as to whether Q is a he or a they. I went to a site once where Q drops are posted- reading them is like reading and interpreting Nostradamus. Neither site is a hangout for normies. I don't hangout or comment in in either place (Well, a few times on voxday) but I peruse them- and other sites- on a regular basis. I check threadreaderapp daily of more, but sine twitter purged conservatives, it's much less interesting and useful. Liberal threads, quite frankly, are headache inducing. Conservative threads, even the crazy far out ones, are at least interesting, even though some of the far out ones are stupid, they're still fun to read.
I've followed the fringe since HS. One of my HS friends was a card carrying member of the National Socialist White People's Party. Really. Another one never got the tutu he told his parents he wanted for his birthday. A female friend changed her religion at least 5 times in HS- and last I heard (it was a log time ago) was living with a gay guy trying to change him... Every weekend when I went to NYC I would pick up a free copy of the Black Panther mag and read it cover to cover along with any other handouts I was offered. I was a prime target for Children of God, the David Berg Moses David) outfit. Adolescent male alone, on the SIRT late late at night. TBH, I didn't realize the young ladies on the teams were offering me sex if I went back with them... that was a CoG recruitment tool. I still have a copy of the Bhagavad Gita I got from the Hare Krishna- tat I didn't pay for. (Also have the Book of Mormon, the Blue Book of the John Birch Society, and others....) Movements start on the fringe. It's guesswork as to which ones will work their way into the mainstream. But some fringe movements can be influential and/or dangerous even if they never make it into the mainstream. Like the Nxivm Cult, which seemed to attract influencers and VIPs. Scientology, which seems embedded in Hollywood. And as Crack has pointed out, influencers like Oprah are constantly pushing New Age ideas into the mainstream.
A solid grounding in conventional religion, Christianity, Judaism. or even LDS- which I consider an established cult, is inoculation against the fringe. Not 100% perfect, but better than the dreaded covid vaccine. Eastern religions? Beh- they're part and parcel of New Age cults. Islam? It's a dangerous political cult, not really a religion.
The internet. while giving everyone access to all of mankind's knowledge, has also given everyone access to all of mankind's cat videos, humor and delusions. I wander freely through as much of it as I can to try and keep track of the craziness. There's a lot of it out there. And in the USA, Democrats/liberals seem to be far more crazy than Republicans/conservatives.
BTW, don't know if everyone here will agree with this, but left/right in Europe and the USA mean two entirely different thing. All of Europe seems to believe in some sort of central control for the economy and everything else. They're left/right divide is in who should be in control. The left/right divide in the US is centralized control for the left, individual freedom/decentralized decision making for the right. If the left gains total control, they'll break into the who controls factions. The US left/right divide really doesn't exist anywhere else in the world. The rest of the world disagrees on who should control everything, the USA disagrees on whether or not anyone should control everything.

Ah, CNN. Such objective journalisming. What will they have to kvetch about once Orange Man Bad is gone? Creepy, Sleepy, Sloppy Joe called Trump and his supporters Nazis, while the brown-shirts in the media are coming close to locking down and locking out any dissenting expression of speech.
CNN will never pine for the days of Trump. But they may end up ruing the days of Muttering Joe.

We shall all be gone shortly.
//Seriously? Four years and you're completely unfamiliar with Trump's, uh, diplomatic hyperbole?//
He can turn it on and off.
May all leftists lose family members in the upcoming imperial wars for profit.
Why should a Republican welcome Biden, who has accused Republicans of wanting to return African-Americans/blacks to slavery? Why should a Republican welcome Biden, who has accused multiple Republicans of being Nazis?
Biden has done nothing to warrant being treated with respect.
"CNN will never pine for the days of Trump."
-- I expect some strange new respect in 4 years when a non-Trump runs for office. They'll say things like, "Trump may have been brash, but he got Operation Warp Speed done and made peace. He was able to offer deals on immigration and gun reform! He was tolerant and accepting of homosexuals and other races."
You know. The standard 4-year retrospective on Republican presidents/nominees once they're a useful cudgel to beat the new ones.
"We'll know in in just about exactly 36 hours whether Trump has an information MOAB big enough to cancel Biden's inauguration. I think he probably does."
-- Prepare to be disappointed. If Trump had a way to emerge victorious, he would have played that hand already. Because he isn't stupid enough to try and create a made for TV movie dramatic closing of him walking up to the podium with a small envelope, sliding it across the surface to Biden, leaning in and whispering. Then, in a quick cut to Biden's face, he frowns, then starts to sob uncontrollably. Trump pats him once on the back, nods, and from off camera come two policemen who cuff Biden.
That's a fantasy. It isn't happening. The time to challenge the results of the election is over; think what you want about them, but continuing the fantasy is as ridiculous as thinking we'll soon find the receipts of Trump paying off hookers to pee on a Russian bed.
"With the accusations that emerged about pro-marxist The Lincoln Project founder Weaver and his grooming of young boys which led to the FakeCons tossing Weaver overboard..."
-- The Lincoln Project, no longer being useful, is probably surprised to see how quickly it was among the purged. Weaver, especially, is probably confused as to why the media that protected him until Trump was gone suddenly went public with stories they've probably had for months. The organization itself is probably shocked its, money issues, which pale in comparison to larger left-leaning organizations, are suddenly coming out.
I am reminded of the scorpion and the frog.
These people actually think they're going to be forgiven,...
So the party of destroying norms is now sad over trump not treating THEM as normal? Oh my. The sads, they overwhelm my delicate sensibilities!

I told folks the mask hypoxia would produce victims. There it is.
(The true "long Covid")
I don't think there has been a modern presidential election where election fraud had such a high probability of determining the outcome.
Biden came in FIFTH in the New Hampshire primary, did not campaign, and received more votes than Obama in 2008 (the previous record) -- the most popular president in modern history. And btw, Trump ALSO received more votes than Obama in 2008 and was Gallup's most admired man in America -- unseating Obama's 12 year run.
I mean, really, really implausible.
Two front pages, ala Citizen Kane.
TRUMP ATTENDS INAUGURATION - CAN'T LEAVE SPOTLIGHT
TRUMP SNUBS INAUGURATION - CAN'T SWALLOW DEFEAT
It's CNN, the Crap News Network. And all the media would be up in arms if Trump WERE there at the Inaugural. (He's STEALING (TRUMPING) the Inauguration!!!!!11111!!!!!!!)
The Inauguration Day snub of the Biden's
Um, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it's actually Trump who's getting "snubbed" this month.
The Inauguration Day snub of the Biden's comes on the heels of a series of broken norms and childish behavior that comes directly from the example of the Democrats over the last four years.
FIFY CNN. Don't worry, we're just getting started displaying all we've learned from what you taught us
Bowing out of airports and absence of Trump, CNN viewership will nose-dive.
Hence the attacks against OAN, Newsmax etc.
CNN is just butthurt that they won't get more Trump material to ridicule.
