".... The comparison fails even though the mob in the Capitol included at least a few honest-to-goodness, unambiguous terrorists, who came there with the express purpose of violently scaring the hell out of politicians in an effort to change policy... I once thought resistance to the hysterical style was hopeless.... We overdose on serotonin, or some equally enchanting neurotransmitter, and experience an addict’s bliss at the hysterical scenes that pass before our eyes, whether they make us happy or furious.
The only thing that displeases us is boredom—and that is why boredom is our salvation. Developing an aversion to hysteria is a long process—as hard as for a drunk to learn to hate the bottle—but it is possible. You just have to learn to feel disgust for it, and for those who retweet it. I feel my own blood seroconverting against hysteria—I was once entertained, then riled, then bored, and now I am disgusted by it. And that makes me hopeful that others can undergo the same process.
One sign that herd immunity against this hysterical style is within reach was the election of Biden, a nonhysterical fogey. More tests will come. A representative from Georgia has vowed to introduce articles of impeachment against Biden the day after the inauguration, for reasons too risible to bear repeating. These non-incidents are good practice: Follow the bead of your attention. Where does it go? Does it slavishly follow the antics of
incorrigible exhibitionists? Do you wish it did not?"
Too risible to link to an article?
I looked it up. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) said Biden "is willing to abuse the power of the office of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, foreign Chinese energy companies, Ukrainian energy companies." Is
willing to abuse...? At least wait until he abuses power.
Willingness to abuse power is not enough.

I think the current Social Media moment can be compared to the difficult adaptation of humanity to the urban environment of the Industrial Revolution. We're still in the "people are so discombobulated by the new experience that a large fraction of them just spend their entire lives hammered out of their skulls on gin" phase.
Isn't she muslim? So we should assume that alqaeda moves freely among us because they are muslim?

Maybe, Graeme, but those who lead active lives will find it hard to keep the sticks from falling out of their rectums.
One sign that herd immunity against this hysterical style is within reach was the election of Biden, a nonhysterical fogey.
It was anti-Trump hysteria that got the old phony elected.
So now that Biden is being inaugurated, it is time to stop being outraged all the time?
I call serenity-bullshit
"Willingness to abuse power is not enough."
Sure it is. You can impeach a President for any reason you want. It's too bad the reluctance to engage in impeachment for bullshit reasons has been cast aside forever. Good luck getting that toothpaste back in the tube.
Biden did plenty of hysterical stuff during the Dubya times and he has gone full blown Hate Hoaxer with the Charlottesville lie.
At least wait until he abuses power.
For goodness sake woman. Do we have to recite all the abuses and criminality and corruption of Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Biden yet again???
And, yes, there is a mens rea component to impeachment, so a statement of his willingness is appropriate.
Enough with the intentional obtuseness.
Based on his appointments, we know #notmypresident is already beyond willing to abuse the powers of the office. I believe a famous man once wrote "you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows."
Interestingly prophetic, that line. Here we have an incoming chief executive #notmypresident whose ability to get to the Oval Office is because of a man who started his Presidential run in the home of a Weatherman. The chief executive's vice chief is noted for her knowing which way to....something about the wind.
Has Joe Biden disgorged himself of all the profits from his corruption, including the kickbacks demanded of Hunter? Will he still be enjoying those fruits at 12:01 p.m. on January 20?
It's OK to tell lies when you're on the left.
It's OK to inspire rioting when you're on the left.
Is "willing to abuse power again" enough for impeachment? I for one am not willing to play dumb and pretend to not know why Biden got that Ukrainian prosecutor fired.
I tend to agree that we should wait for him to do something impeachable, at least. Then I remember the people who were calling for Trump's impeachment before he was even sworn in. The difference, I think, is that the people who wanted to impeach Trump from day one were treated as though they had righteous anger while Marjorie Taylor Greene is treated as a kook. It's a repeat of the double standard on contesting electoral votes, and it relies on the ability to mind read to know that your friends were sincerely outraged while the other guy is just doing it because he's evil. It's going to take quite a while before the tools the establishment turned against Trump are put back in their drawers and normalcy is restored, especially if the cultural elite launch of a purge of anyone who supported Trump.
When mainstream democrats promote Brownshirts
When is it Ok to burn down businesses of innocent people? When your club called Antifa hates Trump.
Willingness to abuse power is not enough.
Oh? is That the New Rule?
How long did it take, for the impeachment process to start for President Elect Trump?
It'll be a challenge rounding up 74 million terrorists. Special facilities will need to be built to house them all. Perhaps the incoming administration should consult with Beijing? They seem to be handling their little Uygher problem pretty well.
Biden "is willing to abuse the power of the office of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, foreign Chinese energy companies, Ukrainian energy companies." Is willing to abuse...? At least wait until he abuses power. Willingness to abuse power is not enough.
Burisma paid a fortune to Biden's unqualified son as part of a payoff to the Obama administration for its cooperation in the coup against Ukraine's president. You're being ridiculous when your pretend Biden hasn't already abused power.
Rabid diversitist.
Who are Mehdi Hasan and Graeme Wood?
As opposed to the actual AQ members in his own family?
The cocksucker works for Al Jazeera for God's sake.
You cannot make this up.
Che Dolf said:You're being ridiculous when your (sic) pretend Biden hasn't already abused power.
Althouse is speaking of Biden abusing presidential power, which he has not officially done yet.As if that creep will be sworn in and all of a sudden become a paragon of virtue.
He abused his power as Vice President. Hasn't had time to show his deft as President, but he's already compromised. I cannot ignore that. His money taking was real. I have no proof that the Chinese or Ukrainians or Kazakhs or Russians have anything on him. I'm sure they just offered up millions because of his winning smile. But, they did so when he was Veep.
Just sheer luck on their part that he's now President.
Gun owning abstainers who have said nice things about Trump in the recent past and have Trump supporters in their family should watch their back.
You're either with MSNBC or you're with the terrorists.
Democrats are all over media today calling Trump supporters terrorist or potential terrorists.
This blog post reads like it's an isolated incident.
Biden is the original Drama King.
You may not see it directly now because he is old and because he campaigned from a bunker inside a media cocoon that somehow made Biden the beneficiary of Leftist Terror of the Commoner yet at the same time—never responsible.
The media elite giving The Left and Biden—“clean hands” is worthy of the best illusionists.
If you think Biden is for boring you are a bad student of American politics.
At least wait until he abuses power.
Oh, come. These days impeachment is about as serious as a fruit salad. If he ate a peach, you must impeach.
It’s also possible that something like the onset of Parkinson’s is reducing Biden’s ability to be visibly bombastic but his love of being a dramatic is still there boiling beneath the surface.
"Developing an aversion to hysteria is a long process"
The pseudo-psychological response is silly: prog hysteria is used as a tool. As the outrage over the "insurrection" shows, it is a useful tool. It serves to beat down "Trump followers" as "insurrectionists" who must be excluded from society, or sent to camps, or if all else fails, well --
"One sign that herd immunity against this hysterical style is within reach was the election of Biden, a nonhysterical fogey."
Again, a silly psychological response to a political event. Joe lyin'-dog-faced-pony-solider, they're-gonna-put-y'all-back-in-chains Biden is hardly nonhysterical, and he will start doing plenty of hysterically outrageous things on day 1. Of course, prog propaganda will declare every outrage the new normal.
Democrats have proved it’s acceptable to impeach for partisan political purposes. That’s the new standard. My Only advice would be for Republicans to wait until they take Congress in the midterms. Otherwise it’s just a futile gesture.
Good for the goose...
Maybe you should think of Trump's followers as the people who grow the food you eat, and supply the gasoline and jet fuel that powers your cars and planes and the people who operate the power plants that keep the lights on in your urban castles. Terrorists.....terrifying terrorists if it comes to that.
At least wait until he abuses power.
He already did when he was Vice-President. He even bragged about it.
Enough with the intentional obtuseness.
She spells that as cruel neutrality.
He also bragged about his voter fraud organization... That seems impeachable to me.
People like Mehdi Hassan is evidence we fucked up bigly by letting in so many America Hating 3rd World cretins.
If these people were terrorists, then the shrieking harpies who cornered Flake in the elevator were terrorists as well.
"Willing to abuse the power of the Vice Presidency", fixed for you. BTW if he was so openly corrupt, which he was, as VP, what's he gonna do now with a govt. of toadies & sycophants?
Developing an aversion to hysteria is a long process—as hard as for a drunk to learn to hate the bottle—but it is possible.
Apparently she's back on the bottle.
The only thing that displeases us is boredom—and that is why boredom is our salvation.
Who's most likely to allow you to live a life of boredom, the guy who thinks government should leave you alone, or the guy who wants to use government to control every aspect of your life?

At least wait until he abuses power. Willingness to abuse power is not enough.
Pretty sure the waiting ended when he had the Ukrainians call off the dogs on his son.
Wow is this the same Mehdi Hasan?
Hasan displayed a history of Islamic extremist beliefs, repeatedly coming to the defense of Hamas, despite his Twitter claim that he is “no Hamas defender.” Hasan has also been captured on video calling non-Muslims “cattle” who “live their lives as animals” and quoting a French scholar who claimed disbelievers have a “disease of the human mind.”, and expressed derogatory statements about homosexuals; his full statements can be heard here.

Hysteria's not the drug. It's self-righteousness.
Here he is writing about how tired he is of “free speech fundamentalists”— and he writes this:
Please get a grip. None of us believes in an untrammelled right to free speech. We all agree there are always going to be lines that, for the purposes of law and order, cannot be crossed; or for the purposes of taste and decency, should not be crossed. We differ only on where those lines should be drawn.

He is writing this in response— to people reacting to the Charlie Hebdo attack. Ugh.
This is now how the majority of Dane County, WI citizens will view their Waukesha County neighbors to the east. MSNBC is the wind that blows their weather vane.
This guy hates homosexuals and non-Muslims. So much so that he actually apologized:
“Speaking without notes, & trying to be bombastic, I made stupid sweeping remarks about non-Muslims, especially atheists. I cringe now when I rehear/reread those remarks. I made stupid offensive analogies to animals. Argh. I’m embarrassed to have to write about all this again.”
According to Mr. Hasan, non-Muslims, atheists and homosexuals were “cattle” and engaged in behavior (!) that was transgressive (!) of Islam. According to this trash, we are not free to think what we want, to read what we want, to practice our religion or to live lives of our choosing. F*ck this guy. Oh and this guy wasn't joking. As Ayatollah Khomeini once famously said, there are no jokes in Islam. Shame on MSNBC for giving this racist, delusional trash a platform.
She sounds like a kook. Isn’t she the QAnon adherent too?
Inga finds Qanon under her bed. Along with Boogaloo Boys.

I've wondered why that deputy who hid was still gettng pad, too.

Over 500 In Book Industry Sign Letter Demanding No Publisher Offer Deal To Trump Or His Admin -- even though he hasn't written his book yet. People are angry about how much money he's going to make now that he's not president anymore. LOL
"Over 500 in the book industry including editors, agents, writers and publishers have signed a letter calling for no publishing company to publish a memoir for President Trump." I read the entire list. Didn't recognize a single dam' name.
Welcome to the one party state.
Trump failed spectacularly.
You have to judge by results. The Republican Party is doomed long term to minority status, and likely over the long haul to disappear.
Biden, a nonhysterical fogey.
It's perhaps a sign of the times that someone can say this of Mr. Malarkey himself, old "put y'all in chains" Biden. That said, old, tired, woolly-headed Biden is less hysterical than young Biden, and outbursts like "dog-faced pony soldier" and "listen, fat" are more senile peevishness than hysteria.
Realpolitick matters. I like Trump and I agree with him. But he failed to preserve the republic. That’s his legacy. He never gained control of the FBI, CIA, DOJ and the bureaucracy. He never found a way to use the DOJ to prosecute the crimes of Comey and the FBI. This is total failure. I voted for him twice, but he didn’t get it done.
I am surprised by how many people are looking for moral victories, or to have their ideals praised. When you just plain lose, and leave the field entirely to the other party, you’ve failed. The Democrats can now vote themselves a permanent majority by making D.C. and Puerto Rico states. Trump did a great job on the economy and foreign policy for three years, but his legacy is the total destruction of a multi-party state and freedom.
Biden a "non hysterical fogey"? Some of his claims about his opponents have been hysterical "they gonna put y'all back in chains" etc. But mostly Joe is asleep.
I’m pissing off Republicans now, but the responsibility for this failure rests on Trump.
I didn’t vote twice for Trump to make him feel good, or for moral victories, or for symbolic reasons.
I voted for him because I wanted success. That’s not what I got.
He leaves behind total failure, the possible destruction of free speech, and a Republican Party that may not survive.
This is total failure.
He leaves behind total failure, the possible destruction of free speech, and a Republican Party that may not survive.

If you think he could have gotten more accomplished in spite of furious opposition from every resident of DC, you believe in magic.
Did we memory hole the Biden family grift that took place within the last 10 years?
Do we need to link to the senate 80 page report that detailed all the money and foreign transactions facilitated by the “ Big Guy” and his entire family?
Will any of this ever be looked at?
Of course not. We are no longer a nation of law and order.
(eaglebeak)
For heaven's sake, Biden has a huge track record of abusing power. It is foolish to say "wait until he abuses power"--we have China, we have Ukraine, we have all sorts of dirty dealings already done and established.
Joe Biden and Harris are illegitimate products of an illegitimate election. Thusly, any use of power is an abuse of power.
If you think he could have gotten more accomplished in spite of furious opposition from every resident of DC, you believe in magic.
I worked directly for CEOs for a long time, once even for a CEO in a hostile takeover.
The job of a CEO is to overcome that furious opposition and succeed.
Trump failed.
He didn’t just fail to get more accomplished. Freedom of speech is now in jeopardy. DC and Puerto Rico might become states. The Dems might pack the Supreme Court.
The job of a CEO is to overcome the intransigence and opposition of an organization and effectively rally his troops to win. What can I say? Trump just plain failed.
ST: "You have to judge by results. The Republican Party is doomed long term to minority status, and likely over the long haul to disappear."
Uh, riiight.
Trump did that.
Uh huh.
@Drago,
He was president and leader of the GOP.
Trump is responsible for the ghastly mess he’s left behind.
I will not absolve a CEO for his failure to preserve his power base during his tenure. That’s his job.
I don’t care if other people failed, too. Trump’s job as CEO was to mobilize his troops and win. He lost.
I did not vote for Trump because I’m a member of a cult of personality.
I voted for him to produce results and win.
He didn’t do that. He left us perilously close to being at the mercy of the CCP.
That’s on him.
I can't think of anything that would make the Left and its Media allies look more foolish than the absence of any even potentially violent protesters in DC tomorrow. The folks who are not enthusiastic about Old Joe should just stay home. If that's what happens, I suggest that the Government send the bill for 25,000 National Guard troops to George Stephanopolous, c/o ABC News. He can split it with his buddies in the other networks if he's a cheap SOB.
George Stephanopolous' former TV show producer is married to Susan Rice/ Left to 'spend time with the family'.
Come on all you plague denying, insurrection sympathizing, hoax-conspiracy believing Americans; now is the time!
Let the healing begin!
"Results" is to Biden as "work" is to Maynard.
I'm white now.
"he election of Biden, a nonhysterical fogey."
Perhaps the kindest thing anyone can reasonably say about Biden, assuming he will be calling the shots in his own administration. That Biden will actually be the one making the decisions seems unlikely to play out, but there will be time enough to deal with it when and if he falls flat. In the meantime, all the talk doesn't amount to anything -- just watch what he does.

This is exactly what Stanley McCrystal said on Sam Harris podcast. Of course there's a long discussion of the inside baseball nuances that might confuse and confound soundbyte red pill poppers. Joe Bob says check it out
Trump won big. He did what he had to do. The Democrats did what they had to do---steal the election in a handful of key States. The videos of the cheat--like the guys running the same stack of ballots through the counting machine multiple times and the man and woman sitting at card tables in the counting room filling in blank ballots with a single vote, the one where a cop walks by them and looks at what they are doing then leaves are only two of the direct evidence that popped up. Neither the DOJ or law enforcement agencies investigated anything. The courts dismissed pleas to look into fraud for technical reasons like standing. Why would a cheated candidate NOT have standing? Why did the key States all stop counting at 10:30PM for the first time in history and what agency exists to order that? Who the fuck knows? And why did they start again at 3 AM with boxes carries in from who knows where--consisting of 95% Biden votes going by the count totals. Rwepublicans--even those that won their races after being behind in the polls until Trump came to their aid with rallies, abandoned Trump. Fuck anyone that thinks Trump let them down. You let Trump down by letting the cocksuckers steal the election and get away with it.
Trump failed. He didn’t just fail to get more accomplished. Freedom of speech is now in jeopardy. DC and Puerto Rico might become states. The Dems might pack the Supreme Court.
He was set up to fail. The battle was unwinnable. There isn't a thing Trump could have done that would have changed the outcome. Do I think the January 6 mess could have been handled differently? Yes, but that didn't change the outcome anyway.
Trump failed because the forces were allayed against him to such numbers that it would have been impossible to win, short of a military takeover by a group loyal to Trump.
I certainly hope that "boring" "Moderate" Biden will "moderate" the MSM and the Left in their desire to "Re-program" "De-platform" and "Neuter" the 74 million Trump supporters.
I'm waiting for him to do one thing to unify the country. So far? zilch.
Fuck anyone that thinks Trump let them down. You let Trump down by letting the cocksuckers steal the election and get away with it.
Trump failed.
He didn’t have the personnel or the intelligence assets in place to stop the unconstitutional screwing around with the voting laws in crucial states. This is a huge error for a CEO.
These moral arguments are BS. I take it for granted that the opposition will do all that it can to win. I voted for Trump to be smart enough and savvy enough in realpolitik to counter punch and win.
I’m not a member of a cult of personality. I didn’t vote for Trump as CEO to award a participation trophy to him. I voted for him to win in whatever manner it took to win, and he didn’t.
Clearly, a complete outsider could not "drain the swamp" and change Washington, but Trump was able to achieve more positive change than I would ever have thought he could have five years ago, and more than others in politics could possibly have achieved.
Trump failed because the forces were allayed against him to such numbers that it would have been impossible to win, short of a military takeover by a group loyal to Trump.
I knew this going in, in 2016.
Trump’s job was to overcome these forces by persuasion, smart personnel moves, and clever strategy.
When a general loses a war, it’s his fault.
I’m not a member of a cult of personality. I didn’t vote for Trump as CEO to award a participation trophy to him. I voted for him to win in whatever manner it took to win, and he couldn’t.
FTFY
As I mentioned, there isn't a CEO in history that could have done what was asked of him here. He did more good than any of the other politicians that were running at the time.
When a general loses a war, it’s his fault.
This is where we disagree. Some wars are unwinnable.
trump won the election - it was stolen from him. Those are the facts. The other fact? The Republican establishment had ZERO desire to help Trump fight the election fraud. They wanted Trump gone.
Look at Mitch McConnell today, trashing Trump and talking about how the "Courgageous" senators "stood against the mob". These characters did NOTHING. They cry like little girls because a couple hundred nuts marched into an almost unguarded capital building, broke a few windows, stole a lectern, and then got escorted out.
why do these silly, childish cowards need 25,000 National Guardsmen to protect them? WHy wasn't the NG called out when DC was burning? Why wasn't it called out when the White house was attacked and The first lady had to be sent to the 'bunker' by the secret service?
Where was Mitch then? No where. Where was Mittens? Oh, he was marching with BLM!
In retrospect, Trump gravest error was in not responding with massive force to stop the BLM/Antifa riots immediately.
So, that’s on him, too.
trump won the election - it was stolen from him.
His job as CEO and leader of the Republican Party was to not allow the conditions to exist that allowed this to happen.
Yeah, the election was stolen, and that’s on him, too.

Mitch is now reduced to begging Chuck Schumer to keep the filibuster. But why should Mitch even have to ask? For 2 years Mitch refused to pass wanted Republican legislation because the D's would Filibuster it. Mitch refused all requests to get rid of it.
Surely good ol' Chuck Schumer will repay Mitch's kindness and consideration. BTW, Biden and Obama both want to get rid of the filibuster. Surely Chuck will "withstand the Mob" and let Mitch block all the D legislation. Of course he will. Right?

01) JFK's job as CEO of the Country to protect Himself from assassination
02) Trump's job as CEO of the Country was protect it from disease. Guess CV-19 is on him.
03) Bush's job as CEO of the Country was to protect it from Foriegn Attacks. Guess 9-11 was his fault.
04) Hoover's job as CEO of the country was to keep the economy going. Guess the Great Depression was his fault.
Yeah, like I said, STUPID.

Just remember if the Left kills people or burns down buildings its just random people. And Antifa is "Just an idea" per Biden. but, if someone on the Right riots its because of a "vast right-wing conspiracy".
Never forget. 200,000 Trump supporters in DC, 200 troublemakers at the Capital Building. But all 200,000 are secret Neo-nazis.

Dag nab it, YH! Now you've gone and spoiled the surprise!
01) JFK was killed and he’s dead. He was a reckless men with a pantheon of enemies who had sufficient motive to kill him.
02) The Democrats succeeded in pinning every death from the virus on Trump. Watch the second debate and observe Biden succeed in doing precisely that. Biden said literally that every death was “Because of who you are.”
03) U.S. intel failed outrageously over 9/11 and it had plenty of warning, so yes it was Bush’s fault.
04) Hoover was defeated and driven from office.
I was a vocal supporter of Trump for four years. He failed.
At least wait until he abuses power. Willingness to abuse power is not enough.
You mean like lying to the FISA Court to get warrants and spy on the incoming administration?
Are you fucking serious with this garbage Ann?
Washington DC is OCCUPIED by our Army right now. They literally have Green Zones in our country.
They would not be doing that unless they are planning something absolutely ridiculous.
02) is particularly interesting.
The Democrats successfully insisted that blaming the Chinese for the virus was a form of racism.
They successfully dumped the entire blame on Trump.
That’s his fault, too. Not the deaths, but failing to adequately counter this absurd claim, or placing himself in a position in which it was possible for this absurd claim to stick.
I'm sorry, Thomas, but your binary thinking here is off base.
Trump spent months trying to counter the Covid propaganda, but whenever he said anything it was either taken out of context or flat-out ignored. Trump cannot force himself onto TV every night, so I'm not sure how he could have circumvented that.
I think you're angry and looking for blame. And it's easy to blame Trump because it's just one guy. With all due respect, that's a chickenshit cop out. There is plenty of blame to go around, least of all the entire Washington establishment who, having been there for years, knew EXACTLY what things to pull to make this all happen.
It was an unwinnable war. When the Wednesday night D-League team loses to the New York Rangers, it isn't the fault of the D-league team. They didn't fail. They did the best that they could, and lost because it was impossible for them to win.
"I was a vocal supporter of Trump for four years. He failed."
If the Deep State ever allows a conservative outsider to become president again, the main lesson is clear.
On day one of the administration there MUST be a bloodletting like no other.
At least half of the federal work force needs to be fired. More like 90 percent if you're talking about the IC.
And on that note, Bill Barr was/is the biggest disappointment of Trump's time in office. He wrestled the trophy away from many worthy contenders, Sessions among them.
One of the labors of Hercules was to clean out the Augean stables. He was not required to fill them back up.

I assume he thought the government was like a business where everybody wanted the business to succeed. That is not like it is at all. Think of school teachers. He was president of the teachers' union.

this page sounds like a lindsey graham site where people flip like salmon going up stream.trump over his head from the word go,over 2 months to litigate and prove a point 1 for 62 as courts both sides refused to hear nonsense and said so, I read beforehand so many righties screaming trump wins by landslide 2nd time ,although all the writing on the wall said no way, hundreds of thousands dead on his watch, more staff imprisoned than a tv script, impeachments, everyone worked for him called him a nitwit(in kind words) now when he gets creamed its rigged(like he always says(of course no evidence validated in a court of law even the SCOTUS) and the whining continues on now shifting to the senile guy who beat him from his basement and cant string a sentence together, so if that's the guy that beat him what's that make trump? the irony beat by the partner of the guy who trump could never measure up to OBAMA, the half white guy who called him out at a dinner and trump could never get over it,its over the guy was over his head ,acting people he couldn't get confirmed in his admin,,golfed more than Tiger woods own your dime and couldnt manage a parking lot.cmon man,its not the CONWAY alternative facts up in here, OBAMA and CLINTON had much better MARKET success than trump had (its public info) he'll go down as the worst in history right up there in the books with Bendict Arnold, MY LAI massacre of American Democracy and most divisive 1 termer in recollection.Call a spade a spade,, it will go much further than delusions of grandeur from DON THE CON beat by SLEEPY JOE(from the basement)DINKY DAU fer sure..going down as he came in on the BIG LIE(my inaguarantion was the biggest,,it was a fraud)first and last as he slinks away inviting people to a going away party who laughed at the invite, John Bolton, Anthony Scarammucci, ETC thank God that's over, even Mitch calls a spade a spade(with an eye on the poll numbers)back to boring, twitterless and Home on the Range with SLEEPY JOE ,,waiting on my $1400.00 at my age I seen quite a bit, heading toward 80 I continue to shake my head!!!
ST just looking for an excuse to switch his support to the Horned Shaman.
"We already have Inga and Freder accusing him of being a dictator."
If Trump was the fascist dictator the left claimed him to be, Joe wouldn't be getting sworn in tomorrow.
And the troops in DC would have orders to shoot liberals.
At least we can agree that the one Trump term was a disaster in every sense.
The divisive demon pig will leave office with 3 million less jobs than when he was inaugurated in 2017, marking the worst presidential job record since the Great Depression
ST just looking for an excuse to switch his support to the Horned Shaman.
No. Didn’t Trump virtually take on “You’re fired!” as hie personal motto?
What do you suppose that means?
I’ll tell you: It means that if you fuck up and fail, there are no excuses, and it’s not personal.
It’s just about the job. I’m applying Trump’s stated personal ethos to him.
I probably will never vote again, because really what’s the point? That’s on Trump, too. He failed to preserve the reason for voting.
"The divisive demon pig will leave office with 3 million less jobs than when he was inaugurated in 2017, marking the worst presidential job record since the Great Depression"
Just go fuck yourself.
Joe's Chinese paymasters had a big hand in that.
Again, fuck right off.
I can help you find a deal on a trailer down by the river when you get ready to drop out entirely.

Pretty sure this is a moby trying to make democrats look stupid and evil.
ST: "I probably will never vote again, because really what’s the point? That’s on Trump, too. He failed to preserve the reason for voting."
Trump also failed to deliver Permanent Summer and a Morgan Fairchild replica for every straight male. Trump also failed to provide round the clock Chinese Food ordering for rural communities and there are still some teenagers without boyfriends/girlfriends.
I mean, when you are on this sort of a roll, where does it end?
I just told you where it ends - in a trailer down by the river.
You're using an absurd rationale to attack a man who put his ass on the line to do what he could for me and my country and who has paid a heavy, heavy price for that effort with more to come.
Go catch a buzz and think about what you're saying.
I don’t belong to a Trump cult of personality.
He wanted the job. I didn’t vote for him (hire him) to do the best he could. I voted for him to succeed.
This sentimental shit has no place in the environment of a job. Trump is a famous vocal proponent of that.
I know you’re disappointed in this, but I’m holding him to his own standard.
I've been looking at some of the comments on Twitter about the Inauguration and how happy people are because Trump is out. Not because they are enthusiastic about Biden. They are still polishing the Obama's knobs, as if they need it. I particularly like the claims that there were no scandals during Obama's term, he was so honest, so classy. With Trump there was non stop "scandals" although mostly they were made up. People were convinced that Trump was going to start WWIII, he was going to drop the nuclear bomb, he was going to declare himself a dictator, he would never leave. Even the Speaker of the House accused Trump of these things.
Democrats will never criticize the $1.8 billion cash payment to Iran, the Benghazi attack, the terrible failure to get any progress in the Middle East, Fast and Furious, Clinton's emails and her milking of the State Department, the politicization of the IRS, corruption of the Justice Department and FBI, the absurd Paris Accords, the horrendous roll out of the Affordable Care Act, Cash for Clunkers, the slow economic recovery. etc. Obama's biggest failure probably was his failure to help inner city Blacks.
My biggest complaint about Trump is that he stopped talking about his plans for a second term. I'm not sure why since he campaigned so hard.
I'm a white al-Qaeda member now? That's weird.
I wanted to be a pony.
ST is 100% right. Trump was our last chance to prevent a one-party state, and he failed.
Hillary, terrible as she is, actually may have been more effective at beating back the Wokeness Overlords who now rule us.

Covid got in the way.

I'm so absolutely sick of this dishonesty.
3 million less jobs because states locked down the economy during a pandemic. Yet you throw it out there knowing how much of a liar you are.
Interesting to see certain Vichy commenters now distancing themselves from Trump and his policies. Like Peter denying Christ when the SHTF.
Covid got in the way.
Can you imagine if Trump had completely ignored that and campaigned on everything else? The media would have had a field day.
I'll repeat what I said: He couldn't win. If you try your hardest but can't win because the deck is stacked against you, then you didn't fail; your country did.
"Hillary, terrible as she is, actually may have been more effective at beating back the Wokeness Overlords who now rule us."
This is so wrong...where to start?
Patience, grasshopper. Biden won't last long and Harris will be an even greater disappointment to the Left than Obama was. Neoliberalism is on its last legs. Trump and the Trump movement will be back bigger and stronger than ever. The best truly is yet to come.

Yes.
It will be..icky.

That wouldn't happen if they'd try to elect leaders instead of messiahs. You'd think since they're smarter than everybody they would have figured that out by now.
(I agree, though!)
It's interesting to see the instant transition from accusations of "dog whistles" to blatant calls for cleansing.
ST: "I probably will never vote again, because really what’s the point? That’s on Trump, too. He failed to preserve the reason for voting."
We will not know about this until the 2022 election. 555 elections maybe be harder to steal than 1. I'm not saying they won't try but the House races went pretty well and there are 20 Senators for the Dims up in 2022.
If that shows a successful steal, then I will be in with you.
I know Trump wanted to handle rebuilding the infrastructure but perhaps he knew there was no chance the Republicans would have supported the spending involved and of course the Democrats wouldn't support anything which would make Trump look good. They are only willing to make massive spending projects for a Democrat administration, like pigs at the trough.
So congrats USA, instead of having an experienced builder and developer in office when the government is about to make big investments in rebuilding infrastructure we have lifetime politicians like Biden. Biden's brother got contracts building homes in Iraq even though James lacked any experience. Like the Clintons building hospitals in Haiti which never got done. And now we have Buttigieg with one urban street renovation project in South Bend serving as the Transportation Secretary.
Deja vu all over again.
"Patience, grasshopper."
You sound like Rush this morning.
In the mean time, the libs will have swung the country to the left 10 steps and we will only ever be able to swing it back 3.
7 steps in their favor, as always...
While they have education, the media, big tech, and Hollywood, we are kind of screwed.

I am starting a project to create a completely open source and transparent voting system.
I would prefer if you put energy towards supporting that.
If you drag enough people negative and give up then there will be only one avenue for people to defend freedom.
Nobody anywhere wants anyone going down that path. Even if you think they are on your side unless you have seen what that shit looks like you have no clue what it is like. And that switch doesn't turn off.

Just for the record I don't believe this.
The people running Google and other entities like them are aiming at human extinction. In general the people that develop software are completely disconnected from humanity at a fundamental level. Unless we as a race start thinking on a higher level google will win.
This point is more aimed at "Conservatives."
There is nothing in your idealized past that is going to help you in the next years.
I am going to try my best to open minds. But I am pessimistic because I have at least a view of the obstacles we need to overcome.
Lie!?!?!?Hahaha. Those are actual JOBS LOST. Pesky facts
Those alternative MAGAt facts and the poor saps who believe them, are the grift that keep on grifting.
3 million jobs lost; because of the completely botched federal response to the plague.
"3 million jobs lost; because of the completely botched federal response to the plague."
Yeah, the 'feds.'
Meanwhile, Democrat Cuomo is setting a record for mass murder in NY nursing homes.
Fuck off.
ST did you ever work for a corp where the new CEO who was supposed to fix things had to deal with an out of control, criminal and crazy board of directors and the rank and file so heavily unionized to the point they can't be fired? If not, welcome to DC.
You forget that the talent pool in DC is all contaminated. It's very hard to find smart, competent and relatively clean people who the demonic bod would approve in hiring. Mnuchin and Pompeo where two guys that met the standards. There were a few others but not many where it counts. If you want another guy to finish what Trump started then you are going have to help in getting rid of the corrupt and criminal BoD.
In a way it's too bad Trump wasn't the dictator the moron left accused him of being. Look how far Chile advanced when Augusto Pinochet Trump flushed the communist crap out to sea. How much better off we would be today if we had done the same.
In a way we had a night of the generals. Two Army divisions to make sure the fraudster figureheads are installed tomorrow. More troops surrounding the capitol than deployed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and the other Islamic shitholes that we have troops in.

Q: will that be the contributing side of the Reparation process?!
will be interested in your view from this side.
Catastrophic, 100 year crisis should be responded to in a fragmented, state by state manner?
According to The Trump Doctrine, the Pearl Harbor attack would have been best responded to by the governor of Hawaii?
That’s the kind of criminally negligent thinking that gets you one term, 400,000 deaths and 3,000,000 fewer jobs, then 2016.

That is one way to deal with the fact that the jobs were overwhelmingly lost in states run by democrat governors.

I just slipped myself a five spot on PayPal.
Lots of quotes to be had from the Graeme Wood piece but I agree with his description of the really dumbass strategy employed by Trump and the gross stupidity of his active followers:
Trump’s strategy, by contrast, was to keep and maintain power, by gathering, very loosely, a gang of self-marginalizing anti-Semites, cosplay brownshirts, and flabby gun nuts, plus others who may be high-functioning in normal life but on January 6 were too stupid to refrain from geotagging their crimes on Facebook.
Of course those who murder cops and raid government buildings should enjoy a long, leisurely prison stay, similar to those meted out to terrorists. (Someday they can emerge and tell their grandchildren that they committed sedition because a bat-faced incompetent named Rudolph Giuliani told them to, and he was very persuasive.)
The end result of Trump's presidency was to leave fascist, racist censors and enforcers of NewSpeak in charge, and to put me at risk of losing my job and my bank account for being non-Democrat and posting non-Democrat comments on this blog.
So forgive ST and me if we don't think Trumpism was a rousing success.
The people running Google and other entities like them are aiming at human extinction.
The Alphabet umbrella corporation.

I feel you... But some crumb of optimism way down deep in my soul makes me hope that enough proper Americans still exist that this outcome will horrify them, and our nation can claw its way back from what, today, feels like the very brink of hell.
He vetoed the ndaa and the whole establishment cut our throats with a serrated knife. In the override

rcocean, you elide information that would clarify what you mean here, to wit: whose need is it that he shut up and go away? Your need? His? Althouse's? Mine?
(I don't need him to go. I value him generally and will happily give him room to vent -- and he has clarified the sense in which he speaks of 'failure'. Of course, YMMV.)
