Most Black people, we don't know where we came from. We think we came from slaves. We don't know our bloodline. We're given Black History Month and we take that like it's some gift to us. No, it's programming to us. Racism doesn't end until we get to a point where we stop having to put the word 'Black' in front of it, because it's like we're putting the rim a little bit lower for ourselves ... We shouldn't have to have a special box, a special month. What they show during Black History Month is us getting hosed down, reminding us that we were slaves. What if we had, Remember When I Cheated on You Month? How does that make you feel? It makes you feel depleted and defeated.
Also:
There were 210,000 deaths due to COVID in America. Everywhere you go, you see someone with a mask on. With A, the A word, A culture -- I'll say it one time, with abortion culture -- there are 1,000 Black children aborted a day. Daily. We are in genocide. More Black children since February than people have died of COVID. And everyone wears a mask. So it's a matter of where are we turning a blind eye to?

"I Cheated On You Month!" Hah! Kanye might not have the G-E's gift for memes, but damn if he isn't trying. Focusing on a history of failure and humiliation isn't a way to become useful to broader society.
Isn’t the point of Black History Month to move beyond the slave narrative and teach children/people the other parts of black history, the broader sweep, the positive achievements?
In February, 1971 I was a junior in high school. Our history teacher was a young nun, who introduced us to Black History Month and assigned us a book by Benjamin Quarles, "The Negro in the Making of America".
We learned a lot, and I've always appreciated that it gave us a different perspective on past and present events.
Yes, racism ends when "minorities" no longer regard themselves as "special" nor given "special" treatment. After decades of "affirmative action", innumerable governmental (and corporate) programs to help "disadvantaged" groups, and of course the incredible excesses of "political correctness", how come "minorities" are still mired in the same ruts as ever?
In the most egregious tautology imaginable failure of "minorities" to benefit from the massive largess is put forward as "proof" of "institutional racism", which must be rooted out by applying more of the same ineffective strategies.
Goes without saying the "racism industry" counts on profiting bigly from forcing us to listen to its swill. The promoters of this kind of garbage don't want to solve "minority" problems for real, after all if that happens it's the end of their gravy train.
So I've paraphrased Kanye West beyond all recognition. No problem. To be sure he said it more elegantly, I'll readily concede he's a far better poet, ultimately it's the ideas that matter colors notwithstanding.
You know, I don't think I can argue with any of that.

That’s the danger of government programs created to solve some problem. An industry builds up around the program, and that the very existence of that industry is dependent on the problem never being solved. And so it never will be.
Well. he ain't wrong.
When North Carolina was controlled by white Democrats, we had state-subsidized abortions. I haven't heard if the white Republicans who often controlled the state government the last few decades have stopped it, but then, I haven't been listening.
For those who can be bothered with mere facts, the birth rate for US blacks is above the overall average — so not much genocide going on via abortion.
Conceptually, the “black abortions equal genocide” theme assumes that black women are not rational economic actors. But suppose a woman who had an abortion at sixteen and a child at twenty-three is more likely to choose to have another child at thirty than a woman who had children at sixteen and twenty-three. The number of abortions then does not equal a number of live births omitted, but a shift of live births to a time when the mother is better fit to take care of a child.
He's right
All us old white men sitting out here, reading Kanye and nodding up and down...
If you can't laugh at that, perhaps you lack "taste."
It's a useful but infinitely fungible word, like "love."
Example: when you undergo radiation treatment for throat cancer, you don't lose your sense of taste. The things you will attempt to consume will fall into two categories for an extended period of time - "rotten" or "poison." I think that our long slow gaslighting by TPTB has had much the same effect on our perception of politics as the radiation did to my perception of taste. It's a labored metaphor, but it has meaning to me. At the end, we have to choose between "rotten" and "poison".
In this election, I choose "rotten." The people who are gaslighting us are poison. Point out the candidate they are backing, and I'll take the other one.
Had not ever thought about it before, but yeah that is very well put and absolutely correct.
I'm not supporting abortion, but think about the ChiComs and their just recently changed 1-child policy (now 2 children), then compare with abortions in this country.
When North Carolina was controlled by white Democrats, we had state-subsidized abortions
From MSNBC 6/9/20:
Joe Biden said on Thursday that he supports the repeal of the Hyde Amendment, which bars federal funding for most abortions, after facing criticism this week for his support for the measure.
The huge disproportionate number of black abortions can't be spoke. Try to explain it, without demeaning the entire race...go ahead, I'll check back.
Remember when abortions were to be..., ..., and rare?
Where did THAT concept go?
White feminists love their masks. Don't forget to stay safe everyone!!
Lucien said - "For those who can be bothered with mere facts, the birth rate for US blacks is above the overall average — so not much genocide going on via abortion."
Whoever Lucien is, and I'm sure a person who believes in science, obviously does not believe a black fetus is a life or deserving of one.
The number of abortions then does not equal a number of live births omitted, but a shift of live births to a time when the mother is better fit to take care of a child.
The child aborted when the mother was 16 is not reborn when the mother is 30.
I think I could solve the entire problem if they would just let me do speaking tour around inner city high schools. I would call the program, “DUDE! PULL OUT!”
"For those who can be bothered with mere facts, the birth rate for US blacks is above the overall average — so not much genocide going on via abortion."
Strange statement. Blacks make up 13% of the population, but have 35% of the reported abortions. The Black abortion rate is four times that of Whites. Not sure what your definition of genocide is, but there are reportedly 471 abortions for every 1000 Black births. That's close enough to genocide for me.
Damn, I like this man
He does make you think about things...
For those who can be bothered with mere facts, the birth rate for US blacks is above the overall average — so not much genocide going on via abortion.
This is beyond vile.
There is a joke around rural America, where the parent tells little Johnny to "straighten up or you're out of here! Me and your momma can just make a replacement, and not have to put up with you're crap."
It's not about the number of kids you have. It's about the number of kids you killed.
To use the carpet of statistics to hide all that blood, is beyond the pale.
If you still doubt the racism of the Left, look at how they treat this intelligent, successful, free-thinking person of color.
If you still doubt the racism of the Left, look at how they treat this intelligent, successful, free-thinking person of color.
Joe Biden said on Thursday that.... his strongly held beliefs were, um, you know, the thing. Ah, what were my strongly held beliefs? Does someone have them written down, uh?
For those who can be bothered with mere facts, the birth rate for US blacks is above the overall average — so not much genocide going on via abortion.
Some, Select Black Lives Matter, a Pro-Choice sect, a collusion between the Progressive Church and forward-looking corporations.
More Black children since February than people have died of COVID. And everyone wears a mask.
Know the limitations of prescriptions. Masks have limited value, depending on composition, fit, environment, climate, behavior, filtered substances/particles; and can be unproductive or counterproductive in specialized use, let alone in general use. For the most part, they are normalized in a placebo effect for sociopolitical and economic effect. That said, Isolate individuals at high risk (e.g. planned parent, staff and patients in medical centers). Wash/disinfect your hands with soap and water, assure proper santitation standards, and maintain good hygienic habits. Transmission modes and personal responsibility matter.
More Black children since February than people have died of COVID. And everyone wears a mask. So it's a matter of where are we turning a blind eye to?
THIS! He said it OUT loud. The Democrats want MORE of this. The Democrats want black (and all) families destroyed. They want religion destroyed. They want hope destroyed. They want everyone, every where dependent upon them for everything.
Democrats: It would all be so much simpler and better if you all would just do as you are told [by us]. We will give you what you need. We will care for you. You can not take care of yourself.
still doubt the racism of the Left
Yes, an insidious prejudice smothered with proclamations of good intentions and illusions of good works. That said, diversity of individuals, minority of one.
Racism doesn't end until we get to a point where we stop having to put the word 'Black' in front of it
Indeed. That's the root problem of identity politics. It's purpose is to force people to identify with certain traits and then assume behavior is uniform with the people that have those traits. That racism at best and really is something far more worse. Yet, the same people that support identity politics like to deflect criticism by chanting that Trump and his supporters are dividing the country, because Trump and supporters don't look at Kanye first as black and then assume his behavior based on the color of his skin. It is Biden that says, you're not black if you don't behave as he expects of you.
Kanye is a goof, but when he's right, he's right. Maybe someday more blacks will get tired of being patronized by well-meaning white "liberals".
We are in genocide.
Not really. Beside the fact that voluntary abortions don't meet the definition of genocide, 2018 rank order fertility rate in the US is
"Pacific Islander" > Mestizo > Black > Amerindian > White > Asian.
All except the Pacifists are below replacement rate. (Other sites show slightly different values)
More Black children since February than people have died of COVID.
Abortion is the leading cause of death worldwide.
Lucien: "For those who can be bothered with mere facts, the birth rate for US blacks is above the overall average — so not much genocide going on via abortion."
Read that again...and let it sink in.
And this is LGBTQ History Month! How exciting! I hope people are learning all about what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah.
"So it's a matter of where are we turning a blind eye to?"
Correct. It always is. Therefore, it comes down to who controls the turning of eyes.
He's not wrong.
"...because it's like we're putting the rim a little bit lower for ourselves..."
I think white folks would appreciate a lower rim...
He is right about aborting black babies. The again, for Planned Parenthood, it is all going according to their plan.
Lucien,
For those who can be bothered with mere facts, the birth rate for US blacks is above the overall average — so not much genocide going on via abortion.
Come again? You lost me at "not much genocide." A little bit is fine? (Assuming, of course, that 350K/yr dead is "a little bit.")
I think people don't grasp the facts of abortion in America partly because the numbers are just too big. Many seem to leave off a few zeroes, sort of the way Biden seems to keep adding a few (200 million dead of COVID by the time he finished that speech -- really, Joe? Aren't we lucky to be part of the 1/3 or so of Americans left alive, and doesn't your street seem suddenly deserted with two out of every three residents suddenly dead?). "Late-term" abortions are supposed to be a tiny, tiny fraction of all abortions -- yes, but the "tiny fraction" is still in five figures. Abortion rates have been declining from their peak -- yes, but what that means is that the number was once in the low seven figures, and is now in the very high six figures. &c.
Anyway, as to genocide: Obviously you don't think of fetuses as human, so no level would constitute genocide. But if a plague four times the size of COVID were bearing down on our country and fully 1/3 of the victims were Black, I bet you'd change your mind rather quickly.
Fernandinande, thanks for bringing up replacement rate! There is no excuse, none, for a group like Zero Population Growth to exist here, where the only reason the country isn't actually shrinking is recent high immigration from high-fertility-rate demographics. Europe and Japan, of course actually are shrinking, even despite the huge numbers of refugees and asylum-seekers the former has taken in. The places experiencing actual population growth are Mexico, Central and South America, the Middle East, and sub-Saharan Africa. ZPG isn't much of a thing there, I think; and if it were, it would be blasted for wanting to lessen the numbers of "black and brown bodies" or something.
"there are 1,000 Black children aborted a day. Daily. We are in genocide. More Black children since February than people have died of COVID."
Bingo.
In California, we are actually voting on re-instating affirmative action. Surprised me because I didn't know it was gone.
I expect it to go down in flames, with a slim chance some judge will find a way to overturn the results.
Of course, most voters are ignorant, and TV commercials are always misleading.
Our Governor makes it easy to make decisions on proposals. If he is for it, vote against it, 'cause anything the gov favors is gonna cost me money, and nothing will be improved.
"I expect it to go down in flames, with a slim chance some judge will find a way to overturn the results."
Remember Proposition 8? It was passed by a fair amount and would have instituted a ban on gay marriage.
I actually voted against it. As one wag said, 'why shouldn't gays be allowed to be miserable too?'
Of course it was overturned by a gay judge.
His mistake is in thinking Black History Month is for black people. Black History Month was instituted by and for the benefit of white liberals.
Give him massive props for thinking outside the box.
He is correct, but it is not just black children. The pro-life movement has been saying this for decades.
Of course [Proposition 8] was overturned by a gay judge.
And then they came to SLC to, what, protest Catholics, Protestants, blacks, and Hispanics, primarily Democrats who stood up to the bigotry of political congruence ("="). The libertarians and others of like-mind proposed the right remedy: civil unions for all couples and couplets (and other?); but, Liberals of "wicked solution", diversity, feminism fame knew better. Most people were already tolerant, and Obama et al's political maneuver only succeeded to progress sociopolitical corruption.
snopes.com abortion-leading-cause-of-death
Yes, elective abortion a.k.a. planned parenthood a.k.a. abortion rites a.k.a. selective-child a.k.a. wicked solution for social progress, medical progress, to keep women barefoot, available, and taxable, is the leading cause of excess deaths globally. Progressive sects with a Twilight faith, Pro-Choice quasi-religion, and liberal ideology may disagree. In Stork We Trust?
When I taught middle school history, I gave my students a project on the Tuskegee Airmen for Black History month. I had to do something for the month, and it is a story that all Americans can be proud of. Black history is now included in all approved history text books,so there's no real need for a Black history month, but it hangs on. It causes real antagonism among young whites who have never seen any real racial discrimination against blacks.
n.n.,
Your solution is and always has been mine. Let two people, of whatever sex, enter civil unions. If you want to get married, do it in church. Or chapel, or synagogue, or mosque. Get the government entirely out of the latter business, and have it regulate only the former. There are many churches (not so many of the others) that will happily marry gay couples. If your denomination isn't one of them, you need to decide which is more important to you: the sacralization of your marriage, or your continuing presence in that congregation.
I respect entirely gay men and women who want to marry in church, and I hope they find congregations and pastors that will support them. What I do not respect are gay men and women who demand the right both to be, e.g., communicants in the Catholic Church, and also married gay couples under the aegis of that Church. The Catholic Church teaches certain things; if you disbelieve them, then IMO you aren't a Catholic. There's no shame, in our society, in not being a Catholic; rather the reverse. So your only possible reason for demanding what the Church, by its own profession, cannot give you is the desire to bend the institution to your will.
Really, go be an Episcopalian. Or a Unitarian-Universalist. They could use some members.
