"By turning to Mr. Danchenko as his primary source to gather possible dirt on Mr. Trump involving Russia, Mr. Steele was relying not on someone with a history of working with Russian intelligence operatives or bringing to light their covert activities but instead a researcher focused on analyzing business and political risks in Russia.... Born in Ukraine, Mr. Danchenko, 42, [a resident of the United States] is a Russian-trained lawyer who earned degrees at the University of Louisville and Georgetown University.... He was a senior research analyst from 2005 to 2010 at the Brookings Institution....
According to his interview with the F.B.I., Mr. Steele contacted Mr. Danchenko around March 2016 and assigned him to ask people he knew in Russia and Ukraine about connections, including any ties to corruption, between a pro-Russian government in Ukraine and the veteran Republican strategist Paul Manafort. Mr. Steele did not explain why, but Mr. Manafort joined the Trump campaign around that time and was later promoted to its chairman. He was convicted in 2018 of tax and bank fraud and other charges that grew out of the Russia investigation. Mr. Steele later expanded Mr. Danchenko’s assignment to look for any compromising information about Mr. Trump. By Jan. 13, 2017, the F.B.I. had identified Mr. Danchenko, who soon agreed to answer investigators’ questions in exchange for immunity.... And Mr. Danchenko’s statements to the F.B.I. contradicted parts of the dossier, suggesting that Mr. Steele may have exaggerated the soundness of other allegations, making what Mr. Danchenko portrayed as rumor and speculation sound more solid.... The dossier [played] an important role in... the wiretapping of Carter Page, a former Trump campaign adviser with close ties to Russian officials, which began in October 2016 and was extended three times in 2017. The Justice Department’s applications for court orders authorizing the wiretap relied in part on information from the dossier in making the case that investigators had reason to believe that Mr. Page might be working with Russians.... [L]aw enforcement officials recycled the same language derived from the dossier in their final two applications for court orders to continue wiretapping Mr. Page. They also told a court they had spoken to Mr. Steele’s primary source but without revealing that his statements raised questions about the dossier’s credibility."
From "The F.B.I. Pledged to Keep a Source Anonymous. Trump Allies Aided His Unmasking/After a Russia expert who had collected research on Donald Trump for a disputed dossier agreed to tell the F.B.I. what he knew about it, law enforcement officials declassified a road map to identifying him" (NYT).

There is no "question of the credibility of the Steele dossier."
It was a fake and a poorly drafted one. It was assumed that fact would never be exposed as Hillary would suppress any evidence of the deception. Unlike Putin, she lost her fixed election.
I noted at the time, it felt like alec guinness's deal in 'our man in havana' the ambulance salesman who made up his list of sources,
Further call into credibility?
That ship sailed a couple of years ago. The CNNs and NYTs of the world should be giving back their awards and begging their viewers/readers for forgiveness.
This was the greatest political hoax and hit-job in the history of politics. The sad thing is, half of America is made up of morons who still believe it.
There are lot of loose threads in this story. Information that has been public for at least 2+years. The Manafort conviction was from a case the SDNY decided not to prosecute, because they knew they could not get a conviction in front of an impartial court. They shelved it for a couple years, until the politics made conviction possible. They then gave it to Mueller.
There are several other threads the NYT intentionally ignore the background. Because full knowledge exposes the DoJ as corrupt.
Dem and MSM response: "So?"
"Expert". They keep using that word.
A complete fraud from beginning to end. S.b. front-page news every day for months...but it's not.
Plenty of links between Steele, Danchenko, and Finona Hill. Remember her from the Shampeachment?
Dnachenko worked as a research analyst for the Brookings Institution, where he became a protégé of Hill. “Igor is a highly accomplished analyst and researcher,” Hill noted on his LinkedIn page in 2011. “He is very creative in pursuing the most relevant of information and detail to support his research.”
Hill also vouched for Steele, an old friend and British intelligence counterpart. The two reunited in 2016, sitting down for at least one meeting. Her boss at the time, Brookings President Strobe Talbott, also connected with Steele and passed along a copy of his anti-Trump dossier to Hill.
And then there's this about Steele:
As a former member of Britain’s secret intelligence service, Steele hadn’t traveled to Russia in decades and apparently had no useful sources there. So he relied entirely on Danchenko and his supposed “network of subsources,” which to its chagrin, the FBI discovered was nothing more than a “social circle.”
From Real Clear Investigations. He was a drunk!! Did the NYT report his criminal record.
This is a total outrage! And Rosenstein premised this entire Russian hoax on this clown!!
"The 42-year-old Danchenko, who was hired by Steele in 2016 to deploy a network of sources to dig up dirt on Trump and Russia for the Hillary Clinton campaign, was arrested, jailed and convicted years earlier on multiple public drunkenness and disorderly conduct charges in the Washington area and ordered to undergo substance-abuse and mental-health counseling, according to criminal records.
In an odd twist, a 2013 federal case against Danchenko was prosecuted by then-U.S Attorney Rod Rosenstein, who ended up signing one of the FBI’s dossier-based wiretap warrants as deputy attorney general in 2017.
Danchenko first ran into trouble with the law as he began working for Brookings — the preeminent Democratic think tank in Washington — where he struck up a friendship with Fiona Hill, the White House adviser who testified against Trump during last year’s impeachment hearings. Danchenko has described Hill as a mentor, while Hill has sung his praises as a “creative” researcher."
And yet all these frauds were used to get FISA "wiretaps" on Trump and his campaign staff. Later, Comey would tell Trump about the Doisser and give Trump the impression it was a reliable piece of intelligence - when he knew it was funded by the Hillary campaign and NOT reliable at all.
Lyin' Jim Comey.
Just remember: Straight shooter Jim Comey. Life long Republican. And Bob Mueller - the most honorable man in DC. Straight shooter. Former Marine. Life Long Republcian. And Andy McCabe - Mr.FBI. Ling life Republican. Pure as the driven snow.
Per the NYT and WaPo.
This is my shocked face. No: really!
Is there any credibility left in the Steele dossier to call into question?

Danchenko confessed he had no inside line to the Kremlin and was “clueless” when Steele hired him in March 2016 to investigate ties between Russia and Trump and his campaign manager."
So what happened to my comment? Just never uploaded? Or?
The NYTimes has known the identity of the subsource for almost 4 years. The only thing that has been done is letting everyone else know who the subsource was. The NYTimes sat on this information because, of course, it didn't support the narrative they were fabricating- remember- the NYTimes has described the dossier's sourcing as being from deep within the Russian government, even though they have known all along that it wasn't true- the fucking guy was Democrat Party operative the entire time.
The only really new information is that Danchenko himself had described his "information" as not reliable to the FBI- all of this prior to Trump taking office. The entire investigaton was a lie beginning to end.
"Desperate for leads, [Steele] turned to a ragtag group of Russian and American journalists, drinking buddies (including one who’d been arrested on pornography charges) and even an old girlfriend to scare up information for his London paymaster, according to the FBI’s January 2017 interview memo, which runs 57 pages. Like him, his friends made a living hustling gossip for cash, and they fed him a tissue of false “rumor and speculation” — which Steele, in turn, further embellished with spy-crafty details and sold to his client as “intelligence.”

The RealClear Investigations article is informative in a manner I doubt the NYT is (I haven't read the NYT article. Not good for my blood pressure.)
so is it coincidental, that she lives in burismas base of operations,
The actual truth continuing to seep out of this most corrupt and traitorous action ever taken in US history to attack a US candidate for the Presidency and then to remove the duly elected President based on an "insurance policy" frameup is why ARM and Inga and Howard and the rest have moved on to their newest hoax: Trump being soft on the ChiCom's when everyday Trump is hitting the ChiCom's across their teeth economically, militarily and politically.
When Trump wins reelection one of the biggest globally important stories to watch will be what happens to Xi in China.
Xi is already under incredible internal pressure due to his fundamental misreading of Trump as another Biden/obama/hillary type who could be played.
tsk tsk tsk
And now we have Trump shutting down centers of ChiCom spying in the US, adding to sanctions, going after the corrupt US universities who have been shielding active ChiCom espionage agents on campus and the ChiCom sponsored agents themselves, cracking down on tech transfers to China, maneuvering to get supply chains moved out of China, and, most critically, Trump embarked an a Asia-wide alliance restructuring that as we speak is directly challenging China from the Taiwan straits to China's manmade islands in the South China Sea.
Need I mention that Trump has also ordered a Pentagon complete overhaul of US strategy and force structure with the intent to create a force that can directly stand up to China in the Asian sphere. The shift in Marine Corps strategy is most interesting.
Open Question At Althouse Since 2016 for Inga the Russia Collusion Truther:
Carter Page: Russian Spy or no?
"The only really new information is that Danchenko himself had described his "information" as not reliable to the FBI- all of this prior to Trump taking office. The entire investigaton was a lie beginning to end."
Again from RealClear Investigations:
"The FBI interview memo, which is silent about Danchenko’s criminal record, was written by FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten, who was called out in the Justice inspector general report for ignoring inconsistencies, contradictions, errors and outright falsehoods in the dossier he was supposed to verify.
It was also Auten’s duty to vet Steele and his sources. Auten sat in on the meetings with Danchenko and also separate ones with Steele. He witnessed firsthand the countless red flags that popped up from their testimony. Yet Auten continued to tout their reliability as sources, and give his blessing to agents to use their dossier as probable cause to renew FISA surveillance warrants to spy on Page."
And this is a hoot:
"As RCI first reported, Auten teaches a national security course at a Washington-area college on the ethics of such spying."
it's like the mutaran nebula, signals get lost,

I just glanced through the comments- immediately saw this, and there's nothing to add, just:
DITTO!
And for those who still claim the dossier had nothing to do with starting the investigation, just read the fucking FISA applications on Carter Page- that warrant depended entirely on the dossier- a dossier that the FBI knew had no credibility by early January of 2017 (they knew before, but that was the date that plausible deniability disappeared because Danchenko told them so). Just follow the timeline:
(1) Crossfire Hurricane opened in late July 2016 and just after Steele starts giving information to the FBI.
(2) Carter Page FISA application finally approved in October 2016, all based on the Steele Dossier.
(3) George Papadopoulos is interviewed by the FBI for the first time only in January of 2017- six months after the opening of Crossfire Hurricane.
(4) November 2017! is the first time we hear about George Papadopolous. In December 2017, the NYTimes writes the first story about the so-called start of Crossfire Hurricane, and only after it becomes public that the Steele Dossier was bought and paid for by the DNC and the Clinton Campaign.
The timeline only makes sense if you assume the dossier was the actual spur for the opening of Crossfire Hurricane. Otherwise, Papadopoulos is the subject of the FISA warrant, not Carter Page. Also, it is a pretty big coincidence that the FBI only suddenly gets interested in Papadopoulos enough to interview him two weeks after they have interviewed Danchenko and can no longer claim the dossier as a legitimate predicate for a full. investigation. However, for another 10 months, they have nothing on Papadopoulos. Only after they manage to get Papadopoulos to plead guilty for "lying" to the FBI that the NYTimes swings into action, Dec 2017, to cover up the fact that the investigation really did start with the dossier, which had become an inconvenient fact in January of 2017.
Drago, Inga won't show up in this thread until after most of us have gone to bed.
It’s the NYT. No surprise that they are desperately trying to downplay the corruption here. What we do know is that the Steele Dossier was a good part of the legal basis for the four Carter Page Title I FISA warrants, which gave the FBI, then the Mueller SC investigation, access to electronic communications (telephone calls, emails, etc) by members of the Trump campaign, transition, and even WH, due to its two step rule, as well as from the illegal Title VII database searching by FBI contractors (very likely for the benefit of the DNC, etc) discovered by NSA Dir Rogers in March, 2016 (since Title I warrants allowing searching back in time). If the Steele Dossier had been legitimate, then these investigations into Trump, Etc, might have been legitimate. We have known though, since fall of 2016, that a lot of the Steele Dossier was rubbish. Totally constructed by agents of Crooked Hillary’s campaign and the DNC. Despite that, the FBI continued using it.
Turns out though that the FBI knew that it was rubbish probably from the first. They lied by omission in each of the four FISA warrants. They left out what they found out about both Steele and Simpson (co owner of Fusion GPS) from AAG Bruce Ohr, whose wife, Nellie, working for Fusion, was likely the drafter of several of the Dossiers. She worked closely with Steele, that he was desperate to beat Trump, had lied to the FBI and taken his Dossier to the MSM, knew that Fusion GPS was funded by Trump’s political enemies, etc. The same people who were drafting the FISA warrants were the ones running Ohr as an asset.
But now with the identity of Danchenko as Steele’s primary sub source coming out, it is obvious that the FBI knew with a certainty, from December 2016 or January, 2017, when they interviewed him, that Steele’s Dossier was complete hogwash. Danchenko Thought that the whole thing was a joke. None of it was sourced to anyone who had any first or even second order knowledge. Much of it was just bar talk, no doubt fueled by a surplus of vodka. Steele asked Danchenko for dirt on Trump and his associates, and much of the dirt was made up sitting in a bar drinking vodka with Russian speaking friends. And Danchenko got paid for it, which is why he thought that it was such a big joke. The FBI had interviewed him, and knew all this, at the latest, within a couple days of the first renewal of the FISA warrant having been filed. And remember, it wasn’t just random FBI agents doing the interview. It was people working directly for FBI CD DAD Peter Strzok, who were the ones who also prepared the FISA warrants. And, yet, their lies continued with the second and third FISA renewals, and were carried on into the Mueller Report, three years after everyone involved knew, with a certainty, that the Steele Dossier, the basis for the entire Russian Collusion hoax, was concocted around a series of vodka bottles by Danchenko and his drinking buddies.
Everyone knew, except the public, because Strzok, and the people working for him in the FBI CD, classified everything, as a matter of course, and it has taken well over three years getting enough of that information unclassified enough that the story could be put together for the public.
There are two kinds of people in the United States concerning all this:
1) Those that were skeptical of the dossier, and filtered everything they heard through that filter.
2) Those that *wanted* the dossier to be true, and acted upon it to undermine a campaign and then an administration. These can be readily identified by the hashtag #resist and accusations of being a Russian asset if you disagree with them.
The second cohort should never, ever, ever be allowed near political power or attention - about any subject - ever again. They literally are the modern 9/11 truthers. That goes for anyone of either or no political party. Is it cancel culture? Sure, fine; you have proven for all to see that your judgement is fundamentally faulty and everyone should be aware of that.
The shame of Obamagate is how easily the Americans born and bred in MSM alternate reality fell for the nonsense. Putin as Stalin and Trump as a USSR spy is a tale is so dumb that even Tail Gunner Joe would not have tried it. That really indicts the Enemy of the People Media.
Original Mike: "Drago, Inga won't show up in this thread until after most of us have gone to bed."
Oh, its much worse than that.
The lunatic just yesterday was peddling the theory that Michael Cohen has lots of super secret, never before revealed information that will bring Trump down!
She sounded very excited about her newest conspiracy.
Sounds like foreign interference in our election. Steele is Brit spy, neither Hill
NOr this Brookings Russki were born here. Seems like we only let immigrants in if they agree to support Dems and hate America. I hope a trump puts an end to this in his 2nd term.
Blogger Yancey Ward said..."And for those who still claim the dossier had nothing to do with starting the investigation, just read the fucking FISA applications on Carter Page- that warrant depended entirely on the dossier- …"
But Yancey, the deeply-sourced, Pulitzer Prize winning NYT assures us it didn't.
"2) Those that *wanted* the dossier to be true, and acted upon it to undermine a campaign and then an administration."
The Clinton campaign/DNC payments for the dossier were revealed in October 2017. That's the point at which even the biggest idiots should have been skeptical of it all.
“When Trump wins reelection one of the biggest globally important stories to watch will be what happens to Xi in China.
“Xi is already under incredible internal pressure due to his fundamental misreading of Trump as another Biden/obama/hillary type who could be played.”
And now they face the real possibility that their Three Gorges dam fails. This is their biggest infrastructure project in modern times, and potentially impacts hundreds of millions of their people.
Adding to this, of course, the Wuhan Coronavirus is devastating their economy far worse than it is anywhere else. Much of that is because much of the first world is reforming their supply chains to cut the Chinese out, or at least find parallel sources. China has hundreds of millions of its citizens who moved from their peasant life in rural China to join the middle class, and many of those jobs are disappearing. The jobs back home in rural China have disappeared, and even if they hadn’t, most of those who left that life have no interest in returning to it.
The problem was not, per se, that they were apparently doing SARS like coronavirus research at their two Wuhan virology labs, and likely negligently allowed the virus to escape, but rather that for political reasons tried to hide it, first from Beijing, and then the world. It might not have even turned into a pandemic, if they had promptly notified the WHO, as they were obligated to do. Instead, they spent the first several months, starting in probably November, trying to hide it, hoping that it would burn itself out. Meanwhile, they were rounding up all of the scientists involved, and apparently even executing a number of them. And they pressured the WHO to ignore the pandemic, which they did, until they no longer could. This was, of course, a text book example of one of the fatal flaws in their autocratic socialist form of government - everyone, up and down the hierarchy lies all the time to those above them, and those below. If Wuhan hadn’t been lying to Beijing, then Beijing to the world, after finding, several months late, about the outbreak, hundreds of thousands, if not millions, around the world wouldn’t die from it, and the Chinese economy wouldn’t be heading for collapse.
Read Bruce Hayden at 12:21PM.
And then contemplate WHY this article was written.
Ask yourself why these articles are now being used in the NYT.
They could have been written 4 years ago, after all.
My conclusion:
It was written in recognition of coming indictments.
No one knows what Mueller knows...
Not even Mueller.
“ November 2017! is the first time we hear about George Papadopolous. In December 2017, the NYTimes writes the first story about the so-called start of Crossfire Hurricane, and only after it becomes public that the Steele Dossier was bought and paid for by the DNC and the Clinton Campaign.”
It may be the first time that the public heard about Papadopolous, but that wasn’t when the FBI got interested in him. Their problem, apparently, was that when they went to the FISC for a FISA warrant on him, it was rejected. Carter Page was their backup, their second choice. It’s an interesting question how things would have worked out if Papadopolous had brought the $10k cash back to the US, as they expected him to (as evidenced by his being met at the airport by federal agents), instead of having smelled a rat, and left it with his attorney back in Europe. Papadopolous Was always a more plausible Russian collaborator than straight shooting, Annapolis grad, FBI collaborator, Carter Page. Of course, to get the four FISA warrants on Page, his past had to be sanitized a bit, including that he had worked with the FBI for several years, culminating in testifying for them the previous March, and that he was actively working for anther intelligence agency (likely, but not conclusively yet, the CIA) throughout the entire time (and indeed, FBI Atty Kevin Clinesmith, who worked for Strzok, was in charge of assembling the Woods files for the FISA warrants, altered the email from that agency that acknowledged Page as their asset).
BTW. Found another strand this week thanks to newly unclassified information. We have known for awhile that Strzok and Joe Pientka were the two FBI agents who interviewed NSA Flynn in their perjury trap. And that six months earlier, that Pientka had attended a panel discussion that Gen Flynn had attended to get a baseline reading on him. But what we learned this week is that the “panel discussion” was the first Defensive Briefing by the FBI for soon-to-be Republican nominee Trump, that nothing involving Russian collaboration was mentioned there, and representing the FBI there were Strzok, Pientka, and Clinesmith. Strzok who was just wrapping up his Midyear Exam of Crooked Hillary’s illegal private email server use as Sec of State (where he never bothered to seize her server,;and trusted her that the missing 30,000 emails were just about yoga and wedding).
The FBI/CIA/DOJ/IRS/State Dept conspired to deprive Us citizens their civil liberties.
There's the saying that if you owe the bank a million dollars the bank owns you. If you owe the bank a billion dollars you own the bank...
I think we're learning how many agencies need to be corrupt in order for them to own the government...
I have heard the term "honest services fraud" used for prosecuting.
Q - Can Citizens come together and sue DOJ for honest services fraud for the way Mueller investigation was done?
e.g. can Judicial Watch sue them for honest services fraud?
Q: can we even grant that Steele and Simpson had any sort of interest in being truthful or factual with their so called work product? as long as someone was willing to pay for it?
Q: did their paymasters have any sort of interest in getting anything truthful or factual for their $$
The whole article should be studied in journalism schools. The New York Times tries its hardest to make this a story about how the mean old Republicans reveal the FBI's sources and methods, underplaying--no, excusing--the genuine corruption in how the Steele dossier was created and how it was used.
The line from "The Godfather" applies aptly to The New York Times: "They're animals anyway so let them lose their souls."
16 trimesters of witch hunts, warlock trials, and protests in an unprecedented cover-up by Obama/Biden/Clinton et al and aligned special, peculiar, and foreign interests.
"a researcher focused on analyzing business and political risks in Russia"
For the Brookings Institution, for crying out loud. Working for Dems, in the Dem network. But sure, he was "clueless" about how his stuff was going to be used by Steele.
Led by intrepid Bruce H, collectively we commentators called BS from the outset, before "conservatives" got a clue--remember Andy McCarthy's early equivocations? Our only mistake is that, deplorable cynics though we are, we were not cynical enough.
Xi is already under incredible internal pressure due to his fundamental misreading of Trump as another Biden/obama/hillary type who could be played.
I think this is significant and, if China is funding BLM, we may be seeing his counter plan. First the virus then the rioting.
I was able to click through and skim the NYT piece. Not one mention of this Russian was a drunk and had a criminal record.
The NYT is part of this conspiracy. They're fucking frauds.
Take it from a guy who has tried some jury cases, there's nothing like impeaching a witness based upon their criminal record. It destroys a witness in the eyes of a jury. But of course the NYT knows nothing about jury trials or credibility.
The entire Russian hoax was premised on the word of a drunk and criminal!
Bruce Hayden: "And now they face the real possibility that their Three Gorges dam fails. This is their biggest infrastructure project in modern times, and potentially impacts hundreds of millions of their people."
ARM's beloved ChiComs were unable to maintain their lies about the structural integrity of the Three Gorges Dam (the massive deformations were clearly visible from satellite photos) so ARM's "Heroic" ChiCom's, taking timeout from conducting typical concentration camp/slavery/organ harvesting activities (all of which ARM denied even existed just weeks ago) to address this crisis that is coming to a head rapidly.
The ChiCom's literally blew up another dam to relieve the pressure on the Three Gorges Dam.
Of course, ARM will deny all of this and claim Trump is making it up.
The 400 to 600 million chinese people who are directly at risk from this latest ChiCom debacle probably feel differently about than ARM, Beijing's biggest fanboy.
"FBI Atty Kevin Clinesmith, who worked for Strzok, was in charge of assembling the Woods files for the FISA warrants, altered the email from that agency that acknowledged Page as their asset)."
Why isn't this fucker in jail? I know there are much bigger fish to fry, but this guy falsified documents to get a warrant from the FISA court. What more do you need?
BTW, Clapper and Comey wanted Trump briefed on the Dossier after he was elected. one wonders why. I was trying to look that up and stumbled upon Comey's record of the Trump-Comey dinner of January 2017. In it Comey tells Trump:
" I explained to Trump he could always count on me to tell him the truth. I said I don't do sneaky things. I don't leak. I don't do weasel moves".
HAHAHAHAHA. Wipes tears from eyes.
Just to Contine on Comey and Trump in 2017 in light of this.
The Subject of Flynn came up during the Jan 2017 Comey-Trump dinner, and Comey doesn't tell Trump about the FBI's "interest" in Flynn.
Later In March 2017, Trump met with Comey, and was still bothered by the Steele Dossier and the Golden Showers stuff so according to Comey:
?He asked what he could do to lift the cloud. I explained that we were running it down as quickly as possible and that there would be great benefit, if we didn't find anything, to our Good Housekeeping seal of approval, but we had to do our work. He agreed. but then returned to the problems this was causing him, went on at great length
Comey of course, was NOT running it down as quickly as possible. He already knew and knew way back in 2016, that the Steele Dossier was garbage, and was paid for Hillary Clinton. What a dishonest shit-head he was!
Imagine if we had an honest, impartial press. Or even a more-or-less balanced press.
IF this story looked as though it might throw some dirt on Pres. Trump, it would be banner-headline material in most of America's daily newspapers, lead story on TV, nothing-else-to-talk-about on Sunday talk shows.
BUT it looks as though it might throw some dirt on those who were determined to get Pres. Trump out of office BAMN.
So, nothing much to see here: move-on, move-on.
Let's not forget this Russia collusion bullshit probably cost the Repubs the House majority in the 2018 midterms. So as far as the media and the Dema are concerned it was Mission Accomplished.
Sigh. I read this, and my first thought is that this dumbass and Fiona Hill, and probably Chris Steele as well, are being set up to take the fall for this. Fuck that, these guys are pikers.
But of course the NYT knows nothing about jury trials or credibility.
They don't care any more than Stalin cared about elections. This is propaganda 100% as buwaya has pointed out again and again.
"Why isn't this fucker in jail? I know there are much bigger fish to fry, but this guy falsified documents to get a warrant from the FISA court. What more do you need?"
Indeed. Unless he's flipped and singing like a canary, I won't be satisfied until Clinesmith is lead out of his apartment at 5:00am with ankle chains and a burlap hood on as he's put in a paddy wagon.
Isn't it funny that all of these revelations never help the "Russian collusion"story and only reinforce what a failed coup plot it was by the FBI & Obama DOJ?
Danchenko has caused a lot of trouble for the USA.
He should be deported.
Russia can have him back.
Drago, much as I hate to say it, the much ballyhooed photos of the Three Gorges Dam distortions are an example of lying by ignorance. The photos do show distortion, but it’s visual distortion caused by lens or atmosphere conditions or multiple camera passes. The dam is concrete. Concrete is incredibly strong in compression. It’s why the Hoover Dam is curved into the water. The pressure behind the dam presses on the concrete with all (most in any event) the pressure transferred to compressive forces on the concrete which are transferred to the mountainsides.
Three Gorges Dam is more than 3 times as wide as Hoover Dam. It runs straight across. As a result some of the concrete is in compression some in tension. If the dam was as distorted as the photos- it would have already failed. It’s concrete, not steel or any other metal. Very little bending before it snaps. That the commies have now admitted there’s some measurable distortion is a serious admission there’s a problem. How big a problem? Well, the dam was constructed with Chines steel, Chinese Concrete, and Chinese quality control. If I lived downstream of that dam- I’d be somewhere else for a while.
I don't understand how blowing up another dam takes pressure off 3 Gorges. If the blown-up dam is upstream, it would increase pressure. If it's downstream, it shouldn't matter.
You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. Danchenko knew how the organs of state security work. Take a look at Comey. Does he look like a guy who wants to get to the bottom of something? Nope. He looks like a guy who wants to come out on top, leaving no fingerprints. Does that remind you of anyone? Obama and Comey were made for each other. Take a look at McCabe and Strzok. Those are the people Comey had with him at HQ.
When are we going to find out who were the lying sources for the NYT Pulitzer prize winning stories, or did they make it up themselves?
Was going to look up ALL the lies and falsehoods Mueller, Comey, and McCabe told American people in light of new declassified documents. But what is point? Let's See if AG Barr prosucutes anyone.
Look, after all this, how can anyone NOT be a conspiracy theorist?
Such an approach is the only sensible and realistic path to understanding the current state of affairs.
Brookings Institution: A Key Collusion Collaborator
It turns out that Brookings had their fingerprints all over the Russian Collusion hoax. Their Lawfare blog was integral to any number of aspects, including their gross misinterpretion of an Obstruction of Justice that detethered the Obstruction crime from any underlying crime or need for materiality. And that was used to prevent both House and Senate committees from investigating the Russian Collusion hoax, because using it, all of the FBI employees called as witness refused to talk about that, because it would interfere with the Mueller investigation. The Mueller investigation used it to keep itself open and exempt from oversight, until AG Barr could step in and replace DAG Rosenstein in their oversight. It appears that it was a joint project by lead Mueller prosecutor Andrew Weissman and Lawfare Editor in Chief Benjamin Wittes. Wittes was also the guy to whom Comey sent his notes after meeting with Trump, and those notes were the basis of initiating the Mueller SC investigation after Comey was fired. Several other Mueller prosecutors had close ties to Lawfare, as well as several of the attorneys who worked for Adam Schifty on his impeachment subcommittee, including one of the attorneys who supervised the filing of the four fraudulent FISA warrants on Carter Page.
Danchenko Worked for Brookings for awhile, for Fiona Hill, the WH staffer who testified against Trump in his impeachment. She may have been the one who put him together with Steele, since he had worked for her before (they seriously need better vetting for Trump’s NSC - if he could have someone involved in putting together the Steele Dossier working in the WH for his NSC).
One more interesting tie here. Head of Brookings is Strobe Talbott. His brother in law is Cody Scherer, who has long been Sydney Blumenthal’s partner in crime, and appears to have been even more involved than Blumenthal in the arms trade in Libya at the time that Ambassador Chris Stevens and three of his people were killed in Benghazi. And the two of them were very possibly part of the reason that Kafaffi had been removed. They also apparently written their own Dossier, with equally salacious fabricated dirt on Trump that they were trying to peddle at the same time that Steele was. Sid (“the knife”) Blumenthal is a long time top Clinton fixer. While Crooked Hillary was Sec of State, she routinely sent classified information to him, and forwarded the intelligence she received from him to her staff (including the self dealing information that he and Sherer had generated for Libya). Strobe Talbott, head of Brookings, and Sherer’s brother-in-law, was Deputy Secretary of State under Bill Clinton.
If (another) shoe drops in the Russian hoax and it's not reported on CNN, does it make a noise?
Apparently not.
"Let's See if AG Barr prosucutes anyone..."
Hmmmm it's almost August and there are not even any indictments to be seen.
Sure trials after they wait until post election.... then....nothing (especially if Trump loses).
Any day now,any day. Now we have serious people in charge. We got them. The walls are closing in. Feh.
