When you demonize law enforcement, you discourage police officers effectively from doing their jobs. When police officers are discouraged from doing their jobs, you end up with lawlessness. The tip could be genuine, and there could be credible evidence of Umbrella Man’s ID. Maybe there’s video of him using a vehicle, maybe a motorcycle, or that puts him in a place and time that links him to this.
That said, I don’t see this kind of thing being a One Percenter priority. They generally act in packs, not individually — they are, after all a clubs, or gangs, of you prefer. What’s in it for them? Well I certainly condemn acts of violence no matter who the perpetrator is and no matter what their feeble motivation (the sole exception being violence used to rescue one’s self or others from a dangerous and potentially lethal situation).
