Is that a navigation marker? Rock underneath? Are boats allowed?
Your sunrises have lots of orange and yellow. Really amazing how crisp these are, the delineation of water, land, and sky is remarkable. When I think about how much you would have had to spend 10 or 20 years ago on a camera to get that kind of quality. And then you would have to learn how to set it up for the light, the film, etc. It's a golden age of photography.
I'm curious what my fellow commenters here think about Trump's reviving the accusation that Joe Scarborough murdered his intern, Lori Klausutis. Obiously he didn't say it outright, but he implied it. If Ann will permit me, here's an informal poll. And if anyone has substantive info, I'd love to hear it. (You too, Ann and Meade! Take the poll!)
1) Trump knows something we don't know. He's privy to actual evidence that Scarborough is to blame, but he can't prove it so he's forcing the issue. He's Columbo. 2) Trump is suspicious about Scarborough, but only based on circumstantial evidence that we already know about. He's an average citizen who thinks something stinks. 3) Trump has no opinions about the intern's death, but is getting revenge on Joe and Mika for their offenses towards him. He's the Godfather. 4) Trump is just playing around and has no agenda other than to create chaos and entertain himself. He's the Joker. 5) Trump is strategically using this accusation to dominate the news cycle, confound his enemies, and accomplish things under the radar. He's a 3D chess genius. 6) Trump is a psychopath with no motives or conscience. He's Tommy DeVito.
What? It's 5:24 in the evening. Let's get on the ball here ,Ann. Rice opened her piehole and threw her former boss under the bus. Chickens, roost. Some assembly required.
I keep asking the question, but no answers have been offered:
48 states have started opening back up, some have been doing so for weeks. Florida started 8 weeks ago. In all these places the number of cases and deaths are dropping rapidly. States that locked down first and longest are not seeing as good of numbers, but still improving.
WHAT IS DIFFERENT?
The numbers now are still far worse than they were when we first shut down, so why are we opening up, and why are things getting better anyway. What happened?
"Have these "experts" Ever been right, about ANYTHING?"
It's a very important question, and I can't think of anything they were actually right about the first time, and usually not even after numerous attempts to adjust their opinions. Despite that clear evidence against it, we are still told by everyone in power and with a microphone to "listen to the experts". We are told that's the intelligent thing to do to avoid being a stupid rube. When did being wrong become such an addiction of the chattering class and the elites?
Even though the experts were not just wrong but directly caused extreme economic disaster and cost lives, almost nobody has the balls to say "Don't listen to people with extremely bad track records on important issues. Of course, they would say that, they just wouldn't identify the experts as being exactly that. And they are exactly that.
I lived in Madison for five years, and I did appreciate the beauty of the lakes. Now I live somewhere else. These dawn photos remind me to look for the beauty where I live, even if it's not sunrise over the lake.
As far as Joe Scarborough’s situation , Trump is playing the role of The Punisher. One of many movie scripts he is producing. Trump thinks killing the sexual assault victim is more serious than simply seducing them with the political power drug.
@Andrew I'll go with 3 and 5. But I think that confusing his opponents comes naturally to Trump and it works. The whole left of the political spectrum looks like a herd of morons mooing in confusion.
Here's an interesting observation: "democratics" governors in multiple states relented in allowing businesses and casinos and lots of other venues to open ..but specifically singled out Churches for continued restrictions.
I am sure that just a coincidence. Again.
Meanwhile, mosques have been good to go the entire time.....
Andrew your points one through five are not mutually exclusive. They all be could true simultaneously. Point six is contradicted by Trump's action and behavior so far as president.
This article is 8 days before Trump's epic upset win.
Note the title. Note the main graf below. Who in the FBI leaked this and why? It was likely McCabe. He thought Hillary would shortly win. He thought Comey had pissed off Team Clinton at his exoneration press conference so badly, that he would be phased out. And he would be the natural choice for Director of FBI.
Since Hillary will win, let's clean up all this FISA/Russia, and move on to greener pastures!
Didn't quite work out that way, huh Andy? Heh, heh!
WASHINGTON — For much of the summer, the F.B.I. pursued a widening investigation into a Russian role in the American presidential campaign. Agents scrutinized advisers close to Donald J. Trump, looked for financial connections with Russian financial figures, searched for those involved in hacking the computers of Democrats, and even chased a lead — which they ultimately came to doubt — about a possible secret channel of email communication from the Trump Organization to a Russian bank.
It's 9:15 and there is no other post about anything.
Never mind. Love the blog and the comments.
This one is one of the all-time greats (Quaestor): "Dr. Biden (not a real doctor except if you ask him) believes the proper treatment for the Wuhan virus is a massive dose of authoritarian bureaucracy administered in suppository form along with the application of a poultice made of bovine excrement and the ashes of the Constitution."
Followed shortly thereafter by Iman's comment that "leave your body alone" will hereinafter be known as the Blind Faith hypothesis.

At some point people are going to realize this does not end until the leftists are defeated and driven from the field.
In our systematic review, we identified 10 RCTs that reported estimates of the effectiveness of face masks in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infections in the community from literature published during 1946–July 27, 2018. In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks (RR 0.78, 95% CI 0.51–1.20; I2 = 30%, p = 0.25) (Figure 2). One study evaluated the use of masks among pilgrims from Australia during the Hajj pilgrimage and reported no major difference in the risk for laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infection in the control or mask group (33). Two studies in university settings assessed the effectiveness of face masks for primary protection by monitoring the incidence of laboratory-confirmed influenza among student hall residents for 5 months (9,10). The overall reduction in ILI or laboratory-confirmed influenza cases in the face mask group was not significant in either studies (9,10).
Birkel: "The lockdowns are arbitrary and capricious and judges are starting to agree."
And, as we agree, they are also a costly overreaction, as Acemoglu et al. show analytically--which is worth repeating, don't you think?
"Our main result, however, is that better social outcomes are possible with targeted policies. Differential lockdowns on groups with differential risks can reduce both the number of lives lost and the economic damages significantly. We also find that the majority of these gains can be achieved with a simple targeted policy that applies an aggressive lockdown on the oldest group and treats the rest uniformly."
7. Trump is following Bill Clinton’s advice, that a person can’t badmouth you if they have a fist in their mouth. 8. Trump is in their ooda loop. 9. To knock them off center.
"The numbers now are still far worse than they were when we first shut down, so why are we opening up, and why are things getting better anyway. What happened?"
One thought that comes to mind is that the most at risk were infected and killed off by the shutdown, particularly the actions with nursing home Covid patients in places like NY. Florida kept these most vulnerable safe from exposure, and still is.
Thanks to those who "took" my poll or otherwise commented.
@chuck, This can't be "the" Chuck, can it? Anyway, I agree. 3 and 5 are my choices. But I'd really like to believe 1 is a possibility. The way Joe Scarborough joked about it on Stern's show, it wouldn't surprise me if he was guilty of something. Maybe Trump is the man with the FBI files now. Also, I agree with you that Trump is natural and instinctive in the way that he obliterates his enemies. I'm not even sure he has to plan out a strategy in some cases.
@traditionalguy, Trump is definitely The Punisher, and has been from the beginning.
@Ray-So Cal, Yes to all, although I actually was including those choices in my own options (esp 3 with the ooda loop).
@cubanbob, You're right, they can overlap. I put in the last choice (psychopath) only because I know people who believe this.
@Bill, 4 is a good answer, but I think Trump's chaos is strategic, and he often brings order out of the chaos when no one is paying attention.

Are your sunrise types listed somewhere?
It is time for the shutdown to end.
I am amazed that Trump has once again allowed his enemies to destroy themselves. But now they are not just hurting themselves.
I want a complete and thorough investigation of the decisions to force COVID-19 patients into nursing homes.
I am assuming some families are preparing lawsuits. Will the government rule itself immune to transparency and justice? Are democrats in control?

Serious Question

Speaking of getting on the ball, you ought to check to see if there's already a post on the topic you think I've missed.

Wow. Ongoing spying from an outgoing POTUS on the incoming POTUS—directed by Obama himself—is unprecedented in the 243 years of our nation’s history.

I submit that the most important political article in the past 30-40 years was the NYT on October 31, 2016 entitled, "Investigating Donald Trump, F.B.I. Sees No Clear Link to Russia"

Loch Mendota would make a great fish farm.

But precisely which type of sunrise is it?

Looks like a spar buoy, commonly used to mark research sites, special fishing areas, hazards, or exclusions.
State rep removed from first legislative session since pandemic began for refusing to wear mask
Illinois led by Gauleiters Madigan and Pritzker..
"someone defaced" the tombstone of an American hero
people like that sow hatred and reap the whirlwind, it has always been that way
Trump seems intent on making feigned outrage and disgust, blasé.
What more can they say than they’ve already said? It’s called using up all their powder before the battle.

Gospace,
I was just first on these boards. 6-8 weeks ago I was calling my shots. And I have been proven correct by events as we go.
I'm not special. I just understand the world as it exists, not as I would prefer it to be. And that makes predictions so much easier.
Others have been on the same pages, of course. But I said it out loud and typed it online. And for that certain cvnts called me names.
