Strangely, watching the video before the text, I saw it as...


... watch the video before seeing what I thought...

... I saw it as anti-abortion.

UPDATE: The short TikTok video that was embedded in this tweet no longer displays. Did the TikTok or the person who put up the video take it down? Why? I suspect that the person who made the video didn't expect to get so much attention and wasn't comfortable with it. I didn't think it was a person actually getting an abortion and smiling in the end. I thought it was a comedy sketch, making fun of parents revealing the gender of the unborn. In the video, the woman acts like she's going to reveal the baby's sex — I'm saying "sex" because how is it "gender"? — and the text says something like "It's a" and a paper is opened up to say "borted" — It's a/borted. I don't know if the person who made the video intended for it to be in the #ShoutYourAbortion genre. The reason I thought it felt anti-abortion — rather than #ShoutYourAbortion (that is, pro-abortion) — is that laughing at abortion  feels cruel. The pro-abortion position should focus on the woman and her autonomy, not on the unborn whose life is lost.

UPDATE 2: I see now that the person who made the video has set her TikTok account to private.

we all know this happens.

I stopped supporting Planned Parenthood when they went political and started handing out "I had an abortion" T-shirts. Used to be they provided medical services to (mostly) young women without much money. I knew many such and could support that.

I'm sure there were a lot of people like me who were torn because they knew that baby was life but they understood and sympathized the desperation of women. Those days are over. These women are careless and insouciant and if we included the number of babies aborted into the National lifespan averages I think it would bring it down to around 30

The Shout Your Abortion media campaign made many many Democrats uncomfortable. While we Democrats are pro choice, many are not pro abortion. It should not be shouted or be proud of and a woman aborting her child should feel guilt. I wouldn’t ever have an abortion and I would support anyone I knew to not abort, but to carry the child instead. However to make abortion illegal is not an option if you want to give a woman the right to her own bodily autonomy. Who here would force a woman to carry for 9 months? How would you do it? The pregnancy police?

that is the easy way to do it.
Blogger is a decade plus old forum and there are other, slightly less easy, ways to do it, as there always are on older platforms.

In a hundred years, what is going to happen is this - nothing that was embarrassing and posted online can be proved because the next generation internet is going to be flooded with fakes and the defense of 'that was a fake' is going to be so so easy.

(for the record, i actually believed Bill Clinton when he said he did not inhale - he is just the sort of guy to do that).

I don't believe the federal government has the power to make that intrusion into someone else's life. The constitution mentions abortion mentions abortion exactly twice:

9: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

10: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

Planned Parenthood is run by ghouls.

The democrats are not pro choice. They are pro-infanticide.

At some point the baby inside the women must be protected. I prefer the federal government only step in when states make no attempt to be a part of humanity. Places like New York for example where democrats cheered passing the legalization of 4th term abortion.

But I know you are too stupid to remember the details of someone's position before you use big words like hypocrite.

Check out "One Child Nation" on Amazon. It's a truly harrowing documentary about China's abortion policies. Nightmarish. Women tied down and forced to have abortions. Female babies left by the side of the road because the parents wanted to try again for a boy....The filmmaker is a Chinese born woman whose family had moved to America when she was young. She implicates several of her family members in China in these practices, including abandoning a newborn infant. The filmmaker takes time to comment on the importance of not allowing any abortion restrictions in the United States. WTF.

I'm tepidly in favor of first term abortions. I'm vehemently opposed to abortions involving a viable foetus. Doesn't a viable foetus resemble a baby in many way?....What I'm also in favor of is people who oppose abortion and let the world know about their opposition. If Death were a person, Death would be afraid of me, because I am alive, and I will always be, and because God loves me. And trust me, Death is a lot more afraid of those innocents who are killed every day at Planned Parenthood clinics than Death is afraid of me.

Well, the way they used to do it was by threatening doctors with prison if they performed abortions. I think that would still work.

Of course, back then, having a baby "out of wedlock" was a very big deal, and the young woman was said to be "ruined". These days, she was more likely "ruined" at the time she got pregnant. Is it such a big deal to wait around nine months and then let someone adopt your baby?

Althouse and others here are pro choice and have expressed very similar ideas about abortion to my own. So anyone who is pro choice supports infant murder? I feel so so humble when I think of what he suffered and overcame in order to be the man who, although he has now passed away, is fondly remembered by so many grandchildren, I could not have survived what he survived for day and he survived for years, because of the goodness in his heart and his hopes for the future.

Oh my goodness, have you been window peeping into my home or that of my children to assert something like that? Or are you a lying weirdo? Only ONE of my four children was planned, I was in nursing school with one of them, which was not at all convenient, I wasn't even married yet. I chose to give birth and I chose to KEEP my child, not give her away and I finished nursing school too. If you want to keep your child bad enough it can be done.

I married shortly thereafter and our parents helped us which is what good parents do. I went on to have three more kids and gave 35 years of my life to nursing and being a mother. My kids all turned out to be good people, one is even an attorney, like you are.

A necessary step to mitigate progress and dysfunction is to normalize the understanding that with liberty comes responsibility, the couple for their Posterity, the man and woman to each other, a motorist to a pedestrian, a manufacturer to the ecology, etc. While community (e.g. family, friends, government) can help, it should not and cannot substitute for individual integrity.

Disagree; or, define. We have often been shown infrared videos of terrorists getting blown up. Is that a snuff video? There is the famous broadcast video of Chris Chubbuck committing suicide on air.
