Ricky laughs at the news/"news" of a "huge backlash."

Click through to the article to understand the controversy and to see a funny way to do a nonapology on Twitter. Oh, I know most of you won't click. Here:

It's amazing to me that the proposition, "Nobody should be forced to wax another person's big ol' hairy balls" is controversial.

Maybe ball-waxing robots will save us.

The non-apology is hilarious.

Women had a good run, but now the “men” are reclaiming their rights to the throne.

The first to create and market hairy balls hats may make a fortune!

I didn't understand the kerfuffle here, so I googled some "images" of Jessica Yaniv.

I wish I could un-Google those images.

A quick search of Jessica Yaniv (and I guess I vaguely recall hearing about this) revealed:

“...charging various waxing and esthetic salon workers with transphobic discrimination for declining to provide waxing and other beautification services to her male genitals.”

WHAT...THE...HELL!!!

(At a minimum, clearly a prime target of the humor of Gervais)

First off - I had to look up who Jessica Yaniv is - I have NEVER heard of her. Now I wish I really hadn’t looked her up! Oh my gosh!

I am watching an interview between ‘Blaire’ (who I also had to look up - she is a transgender political commentator) and Jessica. (Interview is on Washington Examiner)

Wow!!! She is claiming now to be ‘intersexed’ and can now menstruate. I am trying to look that up and understand if that is even possible. But I have to say - I cannot believe that ‘she’ is/can menstruate.

Also during the interview - her computer alarm and/ or phone alarm must have gone off 5 times - so annoying! What a dick!

Believe it or not - I am headed to church (I attend regularly 😉) right now, but am planning to watch the rest of this when I get home!

Huge backlash LOL. From the approximately 2% of humanity who thinks "transgender rights" are the most important issue in the universe. They have gone too far. I mean it's one thing if someone is going to undergo surgery and hormone treatments and at least make an effort to present as a woman. It is totally different and incomprehensible to anyone with normal thought processes to accept a person as a "woman" who still has a penis and testicles and wants to compete in women's sports or force women to give "her" a bikini wax. Or to accept that is OK to medically treat young children with "gender dysphoria".

hawkeyedjb said...

Most 'transgender' people are just mentally ill. Jonathan Yaniv is in a whole different class: The money-hustling perv. It's a sick society that takes him seriously.

stlcdr said...

Gervais comedy is based on making fun of people, especially himself. It’s funny; it’s telling you to lighten up about people’s little foibles.

MadisonMan said...

Well done Ricky.

CWJ said...

I love that photo. Who knew Jessica Yaniv was actually Danaerys Targaryen's ugly sister?

I, for one, am proud of all those people standing up for the pedophilelic woman that sued Asian immigrants who refused to wax her male genitalia. If forcing a woman to touch nutsacks against her will is wrong, then I don't know what is right.

I love reposting in the guise of an apology. Keep putting it in their face until they realize their whining has no effect. Lead the way. Be sure each subsequent apology is more obviously mockery.

Sometimes a joke is so good you have to tell it twice.

Now that's funny. Perhaps he is emboldened by Chappelle, and Obama's recent calling out of cancel culture. In any case, put me down as a big fan of this sort of thing.

Always liked Ricky Gervais. Looking forward to season 2 of After Life.

That guy is a horrible human being.

Jessica Yaniv is loathesome. So are the men who compete as women and dominate. Most loathesome are people like that pediatrician mother who wanted to put her 7yo on puberty blockers. I actually know a mother who encouraged her daughter to call herself trans, a scary situation that has finally abated after the child became very independent minded right around when puberty kicked in. I also think anyone who wants to police your pronoun usage and punish you for using ones they don’t like is loathesome. If you can’t mock people doing loathesome things you are not free. There’s a distinction between mocking people who cloak themselves or their loved ones in victimhood for exploitative purposes. Activists would have you believe there’s no distinction between that and mocking regular people suffering body or gender dysmorphia and looking to feel better about themselves.

I like Gervais' comedy at times and think he's a pill for his silly atheism, but I'm glad he's right this time.

Bonus points for creating the Streisand effect, judging by the above commenters who have never heard of the guy.

Coincidentally, the NYTimes has an article today I accidentally clicked on: "Those People We Tried to Cancel? They're All Hanging Out Together." The lead anecdote is about a doula in Washington State -- a good all-round liberal -- who made the mistake of posting on Facebook that trans can't get pregnant. For that, she was hounded, canceled, friendless, and forced to move out of Seattle.

These people are fucking nuts.

He's got all that money from The Office. Not Seinfeld money, but in that mountain range. There used to be a time when rich people could thumb their nose at the world, but now even super wealthy comedians have to act with a modicum of restraint. Why is something like this considered edgy and daring?

Birkel said...

Quit referring to that man as as she/her/woman.
If he wants to be called Jessica, fine, call him Jessica if you must.
But if he wants me to rework the entire English language, fuck that.

This stupid call to give people a veto over me is wrong.
I will not cede my freedom.
Kindly go to hell.

I am not a fucking serf.

“Keep putting it in their face until they realize their whining has no effect.”

Exactly how normal people, especially dudes, police irritating absurdities in their own lives. Unless they can’t be bothered, in which case a simple “fuck off” usually suffices.
The crumbling around the edges of Wokeness seems to be accelerating. I fully credit Trump’s Rorke’s Drift-like Twitter stand.

Wince said...

I'm thinking a "huge backlash" is that tickle you feel when your big old hairy balls aren't waxed.

Jessica needs to find a Zoroastrian named Vilma...

I find everything regarding Transgenders boring. Wish everyone good luck, but don't care. Its too weird, too small a minority, and its dull.

Obama's recent calling out of cancel culture.
______&&&
That's good one by Obama.

Wasn't his 8-Year Presidency a call to cancel American Culture fundamentals.

The Cracker Emcee Refulgent said...

If I’m a dude who thinks he’s a chick, I’m not making a run at it unless I have the looks/build/facial structure to make it seem halfway credible after all the necessary, um, adjustments are made. Because if I was miserable as a woman trapped in a man’s body, I’m going to be fucking wretched as a woman trapped in a bad Halloween costume.

here's a pro tip. no one gives a damn about trans people. for the most part, its a mental illness. and the msm pandering to this BS is disgusting. but im all for trans people in sports. love that womens sports are being completely ruined by letting men compete as women. best part is listening to 'feminists' try to justify this absolute nonsense.
and Ricky Gervais is funny. Like Don Rickles kind of funny. the feminists and the left have tried to kill comedy. the hell with that. Making fun of trump is funny. and ditto for obama et al. Leftists seem to be the most miserable depressed lot of losers. Sad.

She's the male who expected women to service him like a female.

A trans-social in trans/neo clothing. You can abort your baby and have her too, or so he she... he thought.

Yancey Ward said...

Damn, love the non-apology. Gervais is a bad muthafucka.

n.n said...

The transgender spectrum is broad and colorful, form mental attributes to physical simulations. However, this guy was not transgender, but rather trans-social (e.g. transvestite), who sought female service as a male dressed in women's clothing and feminine pretensions.

If you support forcing someone to bake a cake, then you can't be against other forms of slavery including waxing balls. The logic is consistent even back to lunch counters once you decide personal choices are the same as race. I don't even understand how you could deny ball waxing to an openly cisgender male. Gender specific business cannot be tolerated any longer under our brave new standards.

alanc709 said...

Transmen can menstruate, but you have to kick them in the balls first.

Gk1 said...

The left trying to stifle Ricky is a predictable as the top hat wearing, monicled, industrialist walking into a pie fight with the three stooges. "This oughta be good" is what's always coming to mind.

tcrosse said...

Suppose a man with no pretensions to womanhood asked to have his balls waxed. Could the ball-waxers refuse and not get sued?

Ken B said...

“Huge” backlash really sums up the bullshit factory that is the media.

n.n said...

Could the ball-waxers refuse and not get sued?

That would a represent a different conflict: sexism, whether men and women are interchangeable for gender-specific services, in particular when sex-correlated gender attributes are relevant, even a prerequisite, for the service. Also, as in the case of diversity (e.g. racism), on what basis is the service restricted and available from numerous providers.

Rusty said...

Ricky should get Carl to go and see if he can get his balls waxed. And then go; see. cae=rl can do it.

I had mentioned earlier that I had watched part of an interview between Blaire and “Jessica” - but had to leave and was going to return. So I just went back and watched some more of the interview - honestly I could only take about another 10 minutes. It was ridiculous. Clearly this person is delusional as well as unstable. Living in a different world -

This is this person’s 15 minutes of fame! Go for it. Then go away!

He's got all that money from The Office. Not Seinfeld money, but in that mountain range.

The funniest joke of the year came from those two in Jerry's Netflix show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. As always, it starts with Jerry and guest (Gervais in this episode) riding in a car to go get coffee with the cameras rolling:

RICKY GERVAIS: I love New York. I love Manhattan.

JERRY SEINFELD: Why?

GERVAIS: It's vibrant--

SEINFELD: Yes.

GERVAIS: You can do what you want. There's never two people the same. I just people watch.

SEINFELD: That's true everywhere. Where are- where are people the same? All the same?

[GERVAIS LAUGHS]

SEINFELD: China, maybe?

GERVAIS: I knew you were gonna say that! I knew you were gonna say that. I knew you were gonna say that. I knew you were gonna say that and I just...yeah. Yeah. You gonna leave that in?

SEINFELD: I have no idea.

If you don't like that joke you are dead inside.

n.n said...

Where are- where are people the same? All the same?

America... diversity or color judgment, color blocs, minorities, exclusion, interchangeable, disposable.

Interesting that several people at the start of the thread had never heard of Yaniv. Doing a quick Google search reveals not one single story in ten pages originated by a major US media outlet. There's a single Yahoo! link, and all the rest of the stories are either from conservative outlets, overseas outlets, or blogs. The MSM appears to have ignored the story or refused to cover it.

To those of you who indicated you've never heard of Yaniv - - where do you get your news from? Is it possible you're existing in a news bubble? Think about it.
