If that’s the iPhone 11, I think I will buy one. It’s hard to get sharp images of that kind of, I will call it filigree, of small branches with a digital SLR without a lot of sophisticated post processing, which I guess the camera does automatically now.
Digital SLR is still the best for using in bright sun, but how long will that last?
I was going to take a pic of the sun coming through the fog yesterday morning, but it is such a hassle, in the freezing cold, when wearing gloves, and trying to see the screen when it's set for indoors. Plus, breaking the stride of my powerwalk!
The way to read the NYT is that they are your social studies students and the article is a report that you're using not to get facts but to judge how the student is coming along.
Branches that bent from the weight of snow are dangerous to run under, but I assume you know that already. Still, you may want to check in with Governor Abbott of Texas.
Hmm, power went out. I assume it's the California blackout.
It had the peculiar off-on-off-on-off beginning that characterizes auto pole strikes though. Pole top broken, and the wires swing and short out down the line, and the power company breaker trips until they can fix it.
"You must have the routine down to a science, Ann."
The science is just looking on line to see when the sunrises and basically always being up and about before that happens. I get in a long blogging session before going out!

True! I do think of that. If something is going to fall, today was a good bet to be the day they fell. You could scare yourself out of ever going for a walk in the woods.

First day with snow on them is more dangerous than subsequent days with snow on them -- if snow could make them fall then they'd have broken off immediately after the first snowfall. You don't have to scare yourself out of ever going out into the woods; just be wary.

This really needs the jogger to show the grand scale.
UK General Election Dec 12. Place your bets.
Another very nice snow and foliage picture.
The snow simplifies the scene visually and lets us enjoy the architecture of the trees.

It's the ice-coated branches you really have to look out for. Ice-coated wires even more.
