What kind of state governor would say about a 17-year-old "He didn't have the courage to commit suicide"?

Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Whatever outrage you feel fired up or politically motivated to express, do not put that idea out there for young people to consume: Suicide is an act of courage.

Ridicule of the shooter and denigration of their supposed grievances are a perfect approach to decrease future copycat actions. If you know taking a gun to school and shooting people, then yourself, will lead to everyone laughing at you MORE, you are more likely to off yourself in the privacy of your bedroom at home, leaving only a mess for your family to clean up rather than destroying other people's lives.
