I'll bet Hillary would have won in Iran. But who am I to judge another culture? All cultures are equal and deserving of our acceptance and respect. But be careful not to appropriate aspects of other cultures.
Did I mention that we should be ashamed of our own evil and arrogant American culture? America needs to be knocked down a few notches so we are more like the other cultures that are more equal than ours. We are blessed to have tens of millions of un-assimilated immigrants to (non-judgmentally) improve our decadent society. If only we had open borders to allow our entire culture to be fully erased! Imagine a 3rd world America where drugs are free and legal, women are oppressed and mutilated, and conservatives are jailed and used as slave labor to do the jobs immigrants won't do. Imagine an America that resembles Venezuela and Cuba, where everyone is free to riot for their food entitlement and toilet paper.
I'm just going to say it: In some ways, it seems that maybe Muslim culture is profoundly different from Western culture, possibly. Think about it.

The important question is how long the mullahs can keep the lid on with modern communications. I don't think it's possible. Clearly the Saudis have figured that out and are making stumbling attempts to get out of the middle ages while keeping the traditionalists happy.

Yes. Broadly speaking: the middle class, known in Iran as "the Bazaar." They destest the mullahs and they tend towards secularism.
