It's Tax Day and the IRS tells you to come back in 9999.

"Millions of taxpayers who waited until Tuesday to file their 2017 tax returns and make payments through the Internal Revenue Service’s website were thwarted by a systemwide computer outage that advised last-minute filers to 'Come back on Dec. 31, 9999,'" the NYT reports.

They say ten thousand zero zero zero party over, oops, out of time/So tonight I'm gonna party like it's nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine....

Democrats heart high taxes.

They think it's their money.

If thr lefties at IR didn’t piss away the money that should be spent on hardware it wouldn’t have happened.

Unless it was a deep state political move.

Way to get in the fake dig at Trump for filing an extension. Why not go all in and suggest he’s not paying the tax he owes...

MSM won’t think of that until tomorrow

Rest assured. The IRS will always take your money. No need to wait until 9999.

Any taxes not filed are forgiven.

No one noticed the second date: September 22, 2016.

Well, no big surprise there. THat's what happens when you de-fund/de-staff the government. And it's probably a huge plus for Trump, as this likely resulted from some late night rummaging through IRS offices to delete records of his previous years of tax fraud.

Ah, the first instance of the Y10K bug. The software wasn't sure if it should round "12016" to "9999" to fit in 4 characters, or just drop the leading "1" and print the last four digits.

Filed Sunday.
Paid about half of what I paid last year. Thank You Mr. President.

TTR wouldn't know how to read a tax return anyway.

Government doesn't even work when it's taking our money from us.

Lois Lerner already deleted those by accident while she was destroying evidence of her crimes.

I never file electronically. If you have more than $66,000 in AGI, the IRS makes you use a commercial software program to e-file. Fuck them. They get the paper and I use a pen.

Hmm. So how many bureaucrats does it take to write a date correctly?

They could have shifted some employees from the "Let's fuck with Republicans" department.

They’re so underfunded they couldn’t have someone double check the typist nor someone to double-check the double-checker.
