Ha! No, that's what I would have thought too, except I can't imagine Edina and Patsy as SJWs, although they would certainly pay lip service to fashionable memes before heading off for a drink. The earnest daughter, Saffron, though - very definitely.
Kids get the message loud and clear: Somebody has to reeducate normal Americans into violent ideology for ethnic cleansing. Otherwise, white people will get to keep their lives and their property.
I'm with tcrosse here. As parents one spends extra when buying a house to live in high performing school districts so that their kids can get good SAT scores and get into better colleges. Paying a premium for your kids to have their SAT scores go into the dumpster ought to make one angry. Didn't know Minnesota parents were such wimps and weenies as to not push back. Or perhaps liberal suburban Minnesota parents just don't love their kids as much as Virginia parents do.
And the answer to your question, Althouse, is another question: what's AbFab?
It's the teachers. They come out of any university, dumber than fuck, or just as smart as the professors that teach them. The residents have nothing to say about the hiring practices of the administrative people in the schools. But, go ahead residents of Edina, keep voting for the Alfrankens of the world, and see how it turns out. You deserve every thing that you've wanted.
I have to wonder who was hired that put this nonsense all into gear. This is the work of a very misguided School Superintendent. John Schultz started there, having moved over from Hopkins, not long ago.
Our kids went to Edina HS ten years ago when focus was on academics. Regularly ranked one of the top schools in the state. A shame. The kids and their parents deserve better
Despite the racial nonsense, Edina schools are quite good academically**: https://www.greatschools.org/minnesota/edina/schools/ ("greatschools rating" = academic; the 5/5 stars is based on parents and doesn't mean anything)
Racial scores are typical (they never change much): https://www.greatschools.org/minnesota/edina/892-Edina-Senior-High-School/#Race_ethnicity
All students 10/10 White (81% of students ) 10/10 Asian (8% of students ) 10/10 Black (5% of students ) 4/10 Hispanic (4% of students ) 9/10
**Of course the "school performance" depends far more on the students than the school (system) itself or its teaching methods, etc. They hardly matter.

Do you have any reason to believe that is no longer true?
As far as I can see, the article doesn't say that the academic performance is worse overall than it was previously.
At the high school, https://www.greatschools.org/minnesota/edina/892-Edina-Senior-High-School/#Race_ethnicity*Advanced_coursework 47% of all students take AP courses vs 17% for the state.
Well, this is the educational system that Prof. Althouse and her leftist colleagues in academia have dedicated their lives to creating. Welcome to the future: a teacher's boot stamping on a white boy's face forever.
Exiled ~ Still in the planning stages; our move is a couple years out. Read this article with horror, but not surprise. We won't be sending our kids to public schools in any Twin Cities areas, even though people rush to tell me how 'great' they are. We are either going to send them to a private or charter classical school (Liberty Classical Academy in White Bear Lake or Nova Classical Academy in Saint Paul are at the top of the list) or homeschool. Husband wants to get a condo in Arizona and spend winters there, so leaning toward homeschooling so we can make our own schedules.
Scariest thing about that is the out and proud SJWism of the woman who runs the elementary education department at UM Twin Cities. It's gonna get worse before it gets better, isn't it?
Whether or not this is a failure surely depends on how one defines success and failure. From a 'critical studies' perspective, inculcating the "correct" politics may be considered far more important than mundane achievements such as improving students' ability to read.
In any case, it will always be easier to reduce inequality by limiting opportunities for the more academically capable than by improving the achievements of the less capable.
(But, if you are successful in limiting the achievements of the more capable, who's going to produce the wealth to pay for all this "education" in the future?)
And, finally, wouldn't we be better off if all the schools of education just all closed down permanently, tomorrow? Or if that's not possible, if public schools were prohibited from hiring anyone who held only a degree in education?

Edina and even Patsy tend to let slip more education than they claim.

The whole point of paying a premium to live in Edina was to get your kids into its better schools. How did this come to pass ?

No wonder the islamist extremists are so convinced they will win this civilizational battle against the west.
Well, this article and a brief review of the lefties postings at Althouseblog.
Bolly!
tcrosse: "The whole point of paying a premium to live in Edina was to get your kids into its better schools. How did this come to pass ?"
The Left's Long March thru our institutions and complete takeover of the Education bureaucracy.
Hey, my first thought was of "L'Elisir d'amore," though there the character's name is Adina. My second thought was of AbFab.

No!!! The deplorables have been deemed unworthy of capital, choice, possession, and life.
And the story about Edina is just a tiny sample of whats been happening all over.
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teacher leave them kids alone
Conservative, yet trending.
Didn't IHaveForgottenMyPants move into the suburban Twin Cities area recently?

This is an interesting link.
But maybe all this stuff predates him.
It's well known in Minnesota that the DFL is the political arm of the teachers' union.

Yeah, Althouse, didn't you watch Homicide? The only possible association is with Det. Bayliss'first case, the chi JH d murder of Edina Watson.
Child murder. Stupid stupid Android.

"to get your kids into its better schools."
They just redefined what "better" means.
The lesson here is simple, never, never, never elect a Democrat or Leftist for any position in government, be it local, state or federal.
Child murder. Stupid stupid Android.
I just figured a rap star named chi JH d had made his acting debut.
Costarring with El dash ah, no doubt. That was a valid interpretation, wherefore the correction.
They just redefined what "better" means.
Or for whom.
That article is a good argument for home schooling.
Unfortunately, not all parents can do it.

Every Day I Need Attention. Works for Edina and Edina.
