"She also believes he's 'draining the swamp,' likes Jews and is going after child sex traffickers. 'let's help to awaken our leftist brothers and sisters about child sex trafficking in America and the world, and how our @Potus is battling it like no Pres b4 him-send links, thanks!'... [S]omething set her off so on Friday she struck back... 'do not expect to hear anything more from me. Its a waste of time to oppose fascists here. bye!'... USA Today reports on Roseanne's Twitter doings. Meanwhile, her sitcom is returning in March (and the episodes have already been filmed, so her signoff, whatever it means, will not stop the show).

It's hard to resist leftist marching orders in Hollywood. Roseanne, you go girl!
...episodes have already been filmed...
I doubt it. Film doesn't translate well with HDTV. It's best just to use a video camera already set-up to the HDTV format.
Interestingly, she recorded her show at CBS studios, for broadcast on ABC. It's like GM selling Nissan... oh wait...
I loved her interview with Marc Maron. He started with his Trump-bashing, and the first sign of resistance from her he folded like a cheap suit and changed the subject.
She's had her problems, but she's also had to deal with a lot of shit from men along the way.
what?
A leftist Hillarywooder who doens't live in the delusional Trump hate hive mind of Hillary-loving corruption excusing sycophants?
have you been threatened by fans of HRC? Tell us about it-#MeToo.'...
Friends of HRC - also known as corruption-excusing boot licking fascist assholes.
She’s right.
Chuck Todd(D) is crying and wincing. Narrative! narrative!
Trump cannot and will not, be credited with doing anything good or positive by our corrupt Democrat party MSM.
I take child sex abuse as a non-problem, owing to its nonexistence when I was a kid.
In the 70s it got media legs, is all. Women can't tune away. So there we are. Even Dorothy Rabinowitz's Pulitzer trying to debunk and defuse it didn't stop the ratings.
Formerly it had been a moral failing among other moral failings, not a public problem. More public problems ought to be moved back there.
Two others we didn't have: drunk driving, loose dogs.
So her Twitter was hacked, right?
She's the Right's Cher. Sometimes you go grrl, sometimes you shhh.
David: "So her Twitter was hacked, right?"
Barr is someone whom only Donald Trump, out of all the republican candidates, could have brought over.
More of a populist liberal, like about 10% of the Bernie supporters who supported Trump.
LLR Chuck, as always, hardest hit.
There was a Reader's Digest article around 1958 trying to get people to stop driving drunk, by way of a timeline of the steering wheel column puncturing various organs.
I remember it because one of my classmates chose it as a topic for his required speech to the assembly.
My topic was learning to fly.
Danger: preference or not.
One way to look at it is "another voice silenced." I thought of criticizing her for giving in but I am not in her shoes. There are a lot of quiet voices out there. The intimidation campaign is powerful.
...likes Jews...
It's interesting that Barr thinks that, because most liberal Jews think that Trump has unleashed a torrent of alt-right antisemitism on the country. Even though I agree with Barr that Trump is certainly not anti-Semitic & is pro-Israel, I'd like to hear from her (or conservative Jews like her) what they like about Trump & his policies.
Also, while it's definitely true that the election of Trump gave publicity to members of the Alt-Right that are antisemitic, I've found that liberal Jews have a sad & sorry history of ignoring & minimizing left wing ( & now Islamic) antisemitism. They see antisemitism as a contingent aberration when it occurs on the Left, but as systemic when it occurs on the Right.
Roseanne is a smart and confrontational loudmouth who scares people because they do not know what she will say next. She would have made a damn good trial lawyer. Probably she cannot help but respect Trump whom she sees using a similar skill set to rescue trafficked children from Politicians.
Wiki says she met her current husband online and then following a year of telephone calls they married. So she must be an intelligent lady.
While Roseanne was with Tom Arnold she said they were everybody's worst nightmare:
White Trash with Money.
Well, this'll make it harder to mistake her for Rosie O'Donnell.
YH: "They see antisemitism as a contingent aberration when it occurs on the Left, but as systemic when it occurs on the Right."
LLR Chuck consistently offers up comments which demonstrates that he buys into the idea that the typical Trump voter is anti-jewish.
In that way, LLR Chucks comments align perfectly with democrat narratives and rhetorical tactics.
It may be possible to draw obvious conclusions.
I have seen an ad for the Roseanne TV show. Maybe she is smarter than 98% of the people in show business and sees an opportunity,.

Etienne, let me introduce you to Chuck. Chuck, Etienne. I'm sure you two can have a wonderful conversation about "wire-tapping".

It’s a multi-camera (video) show, which are increasingly rare these days. While it’s being shot/recorded at the CBS facility in Studio City (where the original was also produced...but not on the same stage), it’s merely a conventional studio rental arrangement. CBS has nothing to do with the show. Another ABC show, Dancing With The Stars, is produced live at the large CBS studio in West Hollywood. The landlords are generally agnostic about who owns the show unless there is competition for the space.

They sound like a broken record.
It’s usually an early good sign when the network orders additional episodes before the series has even premiered. It means that Roseanne will reappear in her old Tuesday time-slot and the working class Deplorables will have a retro show to watch.
The surprise is that Channing Dungey ordered it in the first place. I wouldn’t have thought it was her kind of show. She’s been leaning into the melanin-enhanced material of late. She’s showing some breadth of taste. Good for her!

By the way, I am a member of the BATC. The British Amateur Television Club. Where everyone has gone digital and HD :-)
My current interest is HD in 20 kHz bandwidth on 2 metres. Interestingly, in the USA, the FCC limits Amateurs to 19.6 kbaud on 2 metres for digital data, but 20 kHz for digital image and digital phone.
The FCC generally deprecates data modes. Everyone blames the ARRL, who want everyone to use CW and waste their lives saying "CQ CONTEST" and "UR 599" Bastards all...
My last analog camera was my Canon AE-1, that I traded in on a Canon EOS-D30. That D30 was awesome, but I traded up to a 20D that I still have. The 20D is showing its age, as it uses large Compact Flash cards, and most new computers don't provide that anymore.
Alas, my TTL days are pretty much over. I'm right handed, but only my left eye works, and the viewfinder is so small, I just use auto focus. I may as well get a mirrorless camera, and hold the trigger down for 20 shots at a time... Just like the news photographers.
I watched the Queen getting off the train, and 500 cameras were shooting continuous. Gosh, I hope they got the shot.
P.S. Does anyone know why the Queen has to carry a purse? Does she have money and kleenex in there, or maybe a fork??
Good thing I never switched from calling movies movies.
Maybe she knows the politics of the audience for her show. Maybe it’s in the script that the characters are for Trump. That will be interesting.
Angel-Dyne said...I'm sure you two can have a wonderful conversation about "wire-tapping".
Over my head... What are you on about? Wire's can't be tapped? Maybe tapped wires can't be filmed? Filmed tapping being wired?
They see antisemitism as a contingent aberration when it occurs on the Left, but as systemic when it occurs on the Right.
Whether it is Conservatism, Libertarianism, or the so-called "alt-Right" which seems to be unstructured, there is no principle of diversity or other prejudiced doctrine that judges people by the "color of their skin" (e.g. antisemitism) at the American center or right. There is, however, on the American left, but weird and wicked solutions, to be albeit hard problems, seem to be their forte.
calling movies movies
When you type in "movie" in wikipedia, it re-directs you to "film". ho ho ho...
Film, also called a movie, motion picture, theatrical film, or photoplay, is a series of still images that when shown on a screen create an illusion of motion images...
Show me your sprocket holes Roseanne!
Barr has had a difficult life, and made some good choices (e.g. adoption in lieu of abortion). Her, and other Jews from the Eastern bloc, perspective of the "right" (e.g. nationalists, patriots) is informed by nationalists and patriots in that space, at that time, under those regimes. It does not, however, in principle, translate to America, which should preclude painting people with broad and sweeping strokes. Perhaps that's the wisdom she acquired through evolution.
"movie" in wikipedia, it re-directs you to "film"
Where film is a media, movie is a medium. Film is a critical component of semiconductor technology, that underlies modern movie production. It remains a relevant concept in contemporary usage, similar to tapping wires, channels, pipes, etc., in order to monitor data flow including conversations.
Ann Althouse: "Good thing I never switched from calling movies movies."
Movies are "flicks".
Always have been, always will be...
Is this the same Rosanne Barr who dressed up as Hitler and baked Jew gingerbread men in the oven?
Sorry. She's an idiot and I don't care what side her political winds blow this particular week.
"P.S. Does anyone know why the Queen has to carry a purse?" It's to keep her hands occupied, else they might go rogue! ;:)
Does Rosanne's stance mean that she's now welcome to sing our Anthem at Ball Games? Hope not!
I have been following Roseanne's tweets and retweets for a while but I missed this latest episode. I am sorry to see that she has deleted all of her past tweets, although she has kept her account open. She tweeted something the other day I wanted to quote, but it was gone so I have to paraphrase. Basically she said that her original show offended people on the Right and this new show will offend people on the Left, but the offended people are the same, they just don't realize they switched sides. She said it much better than that, but I think you get the gist of it.
PS I did listen to Roseanne singing the National Anthem which people found so offensive and I LOL'd. Then I listened to her discussing what happened on a radio show. I think she's great. Obviously I'm a fan.
Movies are "flicks"
One of my favorite openings on the TV show Major Crimes.
The squad is at the scene of the crime involving a Hollywood director.
Lt. Provenza [looking down at the victim]: "If he's such a famous director, how come I never heard of him?"
Buzz [continuing to look through his viewfinder]: "He made talkies".
The Queen carries a purse with various things inside... like a button that summons an aide who whisks her away from whichever idiot is monologuing or otherwise boring the Queen. I think it also contains some small weapon.... just in case she meets a typical member of the Religion of Peace or anarchist or other such scum.
I could be wrong on that though. But the Queen strikes me as a tough old bird who would carry, just because she can. She IS the law, after all.
She's probably better than we think at swinging a sword too. She does it all the time in knighting people.
Eitenne, the wire tap thing is a reference to Chuck's dogged claims that Obama never "Wiretapped" the Trump campaign because Obama didn't personally climb into Trump Tower and actually physically tap a telephone line.
The fact that Obama ordered massive illegal surveillance of Trump doesn't matter, only that Trump claimed wiretapping, and thus since Obama didn't actually do the deed himself, it's a baseless lie on Trump's part and we should all vote to impeach Trump and put Obama back into office or something. That's Chuck's argument. A very hyper technical use of the word "Wiretapping"

As I recall, Roseanne caught a boatload of grief over her condemnation of Ted Kennedy for abandoning Mary Jo. Her rant was the first I'd heard about the Mass State Police diver finding Mary Jo suffocated in the Oldsmobile's depleted "air pocket", not drowned.
Does Rosanne's stance mean that she's now welcome to sing our Anthem at Ball Games
Once, shame on you. Twice, shame on me.
Not unless she's had at least remedial singing lessons. Otherwise, there are plenty of Americans who are ready, capable, and willing to perform.
rhh,
Oh, we had loose dogs galore. Nobody much complained about it, though the people that owned the kitten I saw hanging limply from our neighbors' German Shepherd's jaws as it trotted happily down the street toward home might have missed it (unless it was a feral kitten - - a lot more of that in those days too.)
But none of those happy '50s suburbanites could have contemplated the deer-pocalypse that has resulted from our current leash laws, nor the coyotes running loose everywhere either.
Rhhardin
I read a lot of murder mysteries, but have pretty much given up on contemporary ones: the motive is always child molestation.
Etienne
Chuck rejects all claims of bugging, surveillance, and recording as evidence of wire tapping, because no wires were actually tapped.
So what's the deal on crazy fat Roseanne? She's just gotten crazy enough to finally win acclaim/acceptance by the right? Oh boy. What a red-letter day.
"the Queen strikes me as a tough old bird who would carry, just because she can"
Always looking for an excuse to link to this. (It would be cooler if she were shouldering it, but as you say, she is an old bird.)
Paco,
No eye protection??? What a terrible example being set by our dear old Queen!
Is there any thread that Ritmo cannot ruin with poo throwing ?
Is there any thread that Ritmo cannot ruin with poo throwing ?
Not that The Leader of the Sensitive Conservatives, Michael K, is looking for a real answer or anything. But I'm just trying to figure out what the admiration/interest here in the thoroughly uninteresting and not entirely all that admirable Roseanne Barr is all about.
But I'm sure you're too sensitive to listen to my answer.
"But I'm sure you're too sensitive to listen to my answer."
Too intelligent but also too interested in real life and not mental pathology.
Too intelligent but also too interested in real life and not mental pathology.
So you narcissistically project onto me some other insulting excuse for your childlike, one-way sensitivity.
Poor baby. Your nursemaid taught you well, didn't she?
Intelligence =/= hypersensitivity, you poor little baby baboon.
Ritmo, I don't have to deal with your mental pathology but you do, 24/7.
I would suggest some professional help and a good dose of daily Zoloft,
Goodnight.
The only pathology I see here is your narcissistic, whiny, hypersensitive bitching and moaning about comments and commenters that don't care for your self-centered, navel gazing complaints about how they should somehow be obligated to appeal to you. Again, your nursemaid might have taught you that the universe revolves around you, but it doesn't. And if you don't agree, I'll punch you in your ugly fucking face until you see the stars swirling around your head just long enough to realize how far gone you have to be for that perspective to take hold.
