"Even talking about this… Men get so mad when they hear women talk about them this way. They get so defensive."

I watched that video a few days ago, and it's haunting me. Something about the demeanor of the 2 women — Amanda Marcotte and Fiona Helmsley — is just so weirdly enervated as they bemoan the deplorable energy ("fragility") of men.

More transcript here, at Salon:
I think the single greatest threat, and I’ll say to humanity, at the moment is male fragility, and men just not being able to process their feelings of insecurity, their feelings of anger....

What they were chanting in Charlottesville: ‘You will not replace us.’ Who is trying? Who is trying to replace you?...

I think it’s just the way that society raises them. Women are raised to have some concern about the way that they look, and they’re encouraged to be more sensitive. A lot of men aren’t....
So they're taking the nurture side of the old nature-or-nurture argument. And they're happier with women because they've been nurtured to care about how they look? Shouldn't a feminist oppose the nurturing of women to care about how they look and whether they're "more sensitive"? That sounds as though low-level vanity is meritorious.

And oddly enough those Charlottesville Alt-Right guys were concerned about how they look. There's this (in Vice):
... Andrew Anglin, who runs the popular hate site the Daily Stormer, published a truly astounding blog post... that explains how the movement he helped build should market itself [at the Charlottesville rally]....

The worst look ever is a baggy T-shirt. Wear fitted T-shirts, where the sleeve goes to the middle of your bicep. It should not hang lower than base of your member....

Jean [sic] should also be fitted. Not tight, just fitted. In the photo those are actually shorts – I would not wear pants that loose-fitting. And that's another thing: don't ever wear shorts. Serious men in serious situations are not wearing shorts....

Fat people should be allowed to join groups and be involved in rallies, but we need to create a culture where we don't necessarily shame people, but do look at them and expect them to get it together. We should help people get it together. I'm working on my biggest diet guide ever, which I think will help the overweight and skinny alike, even if they've minimal time for exercise.

Continued obesity should not be tolerated.

Surely, a lot of our target demographic is going to be out of shape, which is why we need a culture of fitness. People should go to the gym together. Help each other with diet.

Do not look scraggly. I won't tell you how to cut your hair, but I do believe men's hair looks better short, and beards look better well-trimmed.

They also were once great scholars, but now their worldwide scholarly publications are the equivalent of a typical American junior college.

THisis pretyy much a myth. The "Scholars" were all into memorizing the Quran sort of like Jewish scholars of the Torah

The difference is that Jewish scholars also made the atomic bomb and the hydrogen bomb plus invented banking and the stock corporation.

The "translation period" which was supposed to be "the Golden Age if Islam" was an accomplishment of Greek translators who had "converted"to Islam to save their own lives. They managed to save a few plays of Sophocles but most Greek literature was lost.

There were a few great chemists and supposedly algebra was invented but that is mostly mythical as well.

"Arabic numbers" were Hindu in origin as was the concept of zero.

Big Mike said...We seem defensive because female privilege prevents us from hitting them both good and hard in the mouth, as they deserve.

Would it be alright for another woman to do it? I'd be happy to.

Why act like this is a hard question to answer? Mass immigration is on track to make whites a minority by about 2050. So, supporters of mass immigration are trying to replace us, and they aren't shy about it.

"This is what I hear from the Trump supporters:"

That is some straight up total BS right there. You have "heard" none of that from anyone except maybe your little circle jerk of like minded lefties. It amazes me [but I suppose that it should not] how much effort progressives put into constructing their straw men based entirely on their much removed understanding of conservatives. Most of your "points" could have just as easily and more likely come from the mouth of a Democrat than a Trump supporter but you knew that.

Recent history has shown two truths about "hard core" progressives and those are a) projection is strong in these folks in that you can understand what they feel guilty about because they accuse conservatives of those sins and b) it is ALL about the feelz. Rules of law be damned. Logic be damned. Individual responsibility be damned.

What a terribly sad way to go through life. I would feel more sorry for you and yours except you are trying to destroy my way of life in the process of messing up yours and that I can not and will not stand for.

"Serious men in serious situations are not wearing shorts"

Good advice, despite coming from a Nazi.
As Carmine Lupertazzi told Tony Soprano: A don doesn't wear shorts.

Wow.

Watching that video, my main reaction is, "What a couple of unreconstructed sexist bigots!"

They're totally unaware of how ignorant they sound. I suppose they'd protest that they can't be sexist bigots because they have a lot of male friends?

Isn't it time someone called their employer out on social media? Y'know, asked them why they're employing a couple of open and unrepentant bigots? Maybe put a little pressure for social change?

Oh...wait.....

We'll be in a heck of a lot of trouble if men begin to fret about their appearance like women. A lot of men-only work wrecks your appearance with long hours in bright sunlight or dirty conditions from construction to oil fields. The result is that men's appearance ages faster than more fastidious women. And that'd not even going into all the dangerous jobs men do that can leave them minus and arm or a leg.

As long as there's dirty work to be done, we'll need men.

Some things, even when said by Andrew Anglin, are completely unobjectionable.

I don't feel threatened in the least by what those women think.

Doc, don't forget the odd vaccine and other medical/bioscience achievement here and there. Polio, the Israeli trauma bandage...and again, their interlocutors' achievements seem to be centered in the field of deceiving, killing, maiming and destroying the innocent and good, mostly when they are unresisting.
