"Should you become Internet Famous, follow this checklist."

"It should ensure that, once people start using your character and likeness purely for their own personal enjoyment, they won't discover you're an actual human with flaws and systematically purge you of your job, friends, spouse, and newfound revenue streams."

Extrapolating life lessons from the story of the rise and fall of Ken Bone — the man in the red sweater at the town hall debate.

Maybe look at it from the other side: Let's not impose sudden fame on random citizens. It's cruel.

Every media outlet that went out of their way should be shamed and boycotted.

I don't even understand why he became a target. With other citizen celebrities you know. Joe the Plumber, for example, we know why he had to be destroyed.

What was Bone's sin?

Also, his energy question was fine. Anyone who says otherwise but thinks 45 minutes or more on Is Trump too mean questions was fine is not a serious person.

The fact it was open ended is good. The fact it accepted premises from both sides allows the candidates to discuss the assertions and debate them, as opposed to most of the one sided Does Trump suck questions we put up with through both debates.

They could have written this about Joe the Plumber, but they had a savior to elect at the time. Now they figure the election is over, they can safely write this.

All the same, my handle is all too doxxable.

Oh come on now, unless you have been living under a rock for the past 50 years you would know that the Democrat party is the most professional and expert political party in the world when it comes to winning elections. That is who they are and what they do. Piddling distractions such as truth, honesty, integrity, etc, do not win elections. Manipulating an emotional and generally disinterested public does. I don't know if Trump rubbed up on any of these women and I don't care. It is waaay too convenient to have this pop just before the election and practically the very day early voting starts. The Media, in coordination with the Democrat party has similarly slimed every single Republican candidate for President in the last 50 years; Usually with a Sexual scandal because that sparks the emotions of the plebs. We are not hiring a preacher or a saint. We are hiring an executive to try and manage a huge and unwieldy enterprise that is so deep in the red you cant even see blue anymore. I don't have a hell of a lot of confidence in Trump but I do believe that Hillary Clinton will run the country like the biggest mob boss the world has ever seen, only more incompetently. Anyone up for war with Russia? I hear some sites have MOPP level III suits on sale this fall...

The Ken Bone thing just had me really really sad yesterday. Is this the way we want to be?

"Let's not impose sudden fame on random citizens. It's cruel." Such a sweet sentiment. As if that ever stopped the lefty mob. They need their scalps.

They are wrong about "delete everything." By the time you recognize you are famous it is already too late. Everyone has seen your Facebook and Twitter. They have copies and screen shots of anything incriminating. If you delete anything then that itself becomes news and it also acts as a tacit admission of guilt.

They left out the most important thing. Never get on the wrong side of a hot button sjw issue. If even RBG couldn't withstand being on the wrong side of the Kaepernick thing, what chance did Bone have expressing an opinion about Trayvon Martin?

"And I have known the eyes already, known them all—
The eyes that fix you in a formulated phrase,
And when I am formulated, sprawling on a pin,
When I am pinned and wriggling on the wall,
Then how should I begin
To spit out all the butt-ends of my days and ways?"

Hmmm ... What do these media outlets have in common?

Whatever happened to Joe the Plumber?

@Patrick says you won't have time to delete your internet traces, and he's right. @Madison Man says "don't become a meme," evidencing he has already been silenced. The only way to insure you are meme-proof is to say nothing, do nothing, and be nothing. "Don't become a meme" is the very point the state-run corporate media is making, using a filleted Ken Bone as its terrifying and terrified exhibit.

So think twice before you send out that tweet, upload that video, or post that link. An informed, engaged citizenry is the only threat to government. If you dare to leave a provocative comment, ask a question, or exchange ideas on social media and your speech is not in lock-step with the leftist regime, you'll be drawn and quartered. The state-run corporate media has almost succeeded in terrifying everyone into silence. Its methods are sick and insidious, and fatal to a democracy.

We are so far down the road of censorship, it is probably too late to turn back. Obama is calling for speech controls -- a "curating function" for the internet that ... "some people would agree to" -- and he hardly raised an eyebrow. Free speech has already lost. And at this point, it's doubtful "we, the people," will ever pick our own candidates again.

Matthew Sablan said...

"What was Bone's sin?"

His Original Sin was mentioning the jobs of coal miners. That's why he was attacked. The pretext was his agreement with a Florida jury.

Oh, and porn. He is one of the tiny minority of human beings who is not intensely repelled by pornography.

But maybe I'm behind the curve here. Has something bad happened to Ken Bone? I realize that the usual internet shit-eaters have said that he is a bad, bad man, but that seems like a burden a man could bear without undue strain. Did he get fired or something?

Leigh বলেছেন...

@Jupiter and @Sablan, do note that Bone referred to "the media fuckery." This insult apparently incited the vultures to launch a full-on frontal assault. Leveraging the hot button of race, the state-run corporate media deliberately parsed and twisted an old comment he left on Reddit, to make it appear Bone was racist. Why? Because Bone is sympathetic to coal miners (as @Jupiter noted), a suspected Trump supporter, and obviously no state-run corporate media fan. This kind of heretic must be served up. We are all Ken Bones and some of us are only now starting to realize it. Bone's take-down reminds us our dissent will NOT be tolerated.

Link below explains it all, including his near-decapitation.

He had the gall to question the fact that Trayvon Martin may not have been a complete innocent.
This type of thinking is not allowed, so they slimed him. Also, he was not smart enough to use a new email address when he tried to cash in on his celebrity
