Edward Albee just died and got a big write up in the NYT. Which is amazing since he wrote almost all his best plays 50 years ago. "Who's afraid of Virginia Woolfe?" is his best play, and yet how many people know or care about it in 2016?
Its an "interesting" play, full of clever word play, but more or less meaningless.
Just more evidence of how our "culture" is frozen in amber and more or less stopped in 1970.
BTW, I always got him mixed up with Edward Abbey, who wrote "Deseret solitaire"

I've missed the last couple. Always lots of cool innovative stuff. If you're also a machining hobbyist there is a kickstarter going for a home waterjet cutter.
Listening to Ted Cruz from some judic subcomte hearing, and feeling like, aside from not choosing Vanilla Yogurt, R-Oh., yall made the right choice in not choosing Cruz, the Frank Burns of politics. This, in spite of the leading candidate specializing in appealing to racial insecurities among whites - and ...d'oh, of COURSE he is personally less a racist than the way he is campaigning (gosh, does no one here no anything about Wallace's personal history?), let me get that silly goes-without-saying assumption out of the way - someone who will be overwhelmed, out of his league and perhaps even bored once in office. Democrats need to start examining Pence, because chances are that is the one who will be running the show.
Nothing. But John Henry mentioned that he was going to be there for business, and said if anyone else was that we should meet. I was there too, so we did.
That's a random question! I used to l-o-v-e baseball - would drive with friends and family to Atlanta to see the Braves lose, kept box scores (again on the Braves), and loved WGN which I watched on other families' tvs (if that is/was the Chicago station)... Harry Cary whose son was announcer for the bravos and Wrigley Field without lights. Then I moved, and it just wasn't the same - guess I grew away from it. And now, with steroids and lights on Wrigley field, obnoxious walk up music, beards, baggy uniforms, I don't care for it so much anymore. It was better when it was slow (but not ritual-filled slow), and more thoughtful, with organ music and periods of quiet in between. Now we have to fill in every blank space and silence. Pass.
In short, I have no idea, but I hope so, they will always be a sentimental favorite, no?
If I could only give up football. Alas, it is in the blood, and a regional mental illness. It will never ever happen.

Y'all missed a fine Althouse meet-up at IMTS in Chicago this week!
Sorry I missed it IIB.
Beautiful lake. Enjoyed walking it. Going to bring my little English sloop up and sail it one week... Maybe next year.

But more importantly What about "NIG" and those pajamas?

Whenever they tell you that a child actress has grown up, it means that she's about to take her clothes off.

Agreed about garage's photo. That's really nice.
Klavan written version mocking news media coverage of a random Hillary scandal.

What's that?
International Machine Tool Show
A large city on lake Michigan
ha ha
Anyway, sounds like fun, just that i have no idea what Althouse has to do with a trade show.
Nothing. But John Henry mentioned that he was going to be there for business, and said if anyone else was that we should meet. I was there too, so we did.

It's a cafe so we can talk about anything.
Ya think the Cubs will go the distance this year?
