Brandon Phillips!

I was wrong (or not?), and Trump filed his financial disclosure documents several days ago.
However, I have not yet seen any article by any journolist making even a preliminary examination and commentary on what is in them.
Surely that is odd, no?
Should they not normally be all over this?

Pretty bug, healthy tomato leaf.

Are you sure it's not white and gold?

Hot Air and Forbes had a look at Trumps' disclosures. In short, it was classic Trump.

"His campaign also said that his net worth “is in excess of TEN BILLION DOLLARS.”" [caps in original]

Nice shot!

Hagar বলেছেন...

That is not everybody from the NYT/WaPo down picking it apart, questioning its compliance with the law, and demanding a full DoJ investigation.

“is in excess of TEN BILLION DOLLARS.”"

Said in a Dr. Evil voice, I'm sure.

Re:Trump's $$

Isn't it funny that Hillary types try to lower their net worth to be appear to be one the people and Trump does the opposite. I strongly suspect his net worth is overblown by a wide margin.

From the Forbes article: “Mr. Trump’s net worth has increased since the more than one year old financial statement produced at his presidential announcement,” the campaign release states. “Real estate values in New York City, San Francisco, Miami and many other places where he owns property have gone up considerably during this period of time. His debt is a very small percentage of value, and at very low interest rates. As of this date, Mr. Trump’s net worth is in excess of TEN BILLION DOLLARS.”

There is enough fluff in that news release to cause considerable doubt.

"Brandon Phillips!"

You saw that? Amazing, huh?

MadisonMan বলেছেন...

I didn't see it live, but saw the clip this morning. Wow.

Summer

Now day survives the sun. The pale grey skies
A sort of dull and dubious lustre keep
As with their own light shining. Nature lies
Slumbering, and gazing on me in her sleep,
So still, so mute, with fixed and soul-less eyes.
The sun is set, yet not a star is seen:
Distinct the landscape, save where intervene
The creeping mists that from the dark stream rise;
Now spread into a sea with islets broken,
And woodland points, now poised on the thin air:
In the black west the clouds a storm betoken
And all things seem a spectral gloom to wear.
The cautious bat resents the lingering light,
And the long-folded sheep wonder it is not night.

@MadMan: I watched it in real time last night with my mom who was a huge fan of the Big Red Machine back in the day. Mom has some age-related dementia (who doesn't?) and at the end of the play, after I calmed and sat myself back down, asked, "Now, son, was that Joe Morgan?"

@Meade: I hope you answered "yes"

IMO Trump has become a modern day Nehemiah leaving the comforts of the King of Persia's palace to go and struggle to lead restoration to the destroyed remnants of Jerusalem.

And he is now up against many Sanballats for sure in the compromised GOP RINO's paid attack dog media pack.

And like Trump today, Nehemiah did the assigned job so well, bragging about it the whole way, that God even gave him his own Honorary Book in the Bible.

Big Mike বলেছেন...

@tradguy, IMO Trump is a spherical a**hole. No matter which direction you look at him -- up, down, left, right, any combination of angle and azimuth, he's still an a**hole.

For all of that I'm very glad he raised the point about illegals not being of uniform benefit to American society. It merits a debate -- are the deaths of Kate Steinle and other citizens mugged and/or murdered by illegals to be treated as "the cost of doing business" or do those deaths outweigh the benefits (real or alleged) of adding poorly-educated, non English-speaking, but notably hardworking people to our society? Is there a way to do a better job screening out bad actors than our current "border, what border?" approach. Trump deserves credit for raising the issue.

But he's still an a**hole.

I'd like to hear the professor's opinion of what happened to Tim Hunt, Nobel Prize winning scientist who lost his job and reputation over what is, according to people at his speech and video of the speech, an absolute hatchet job by an activist academic.

And people who support open borders keep conflating illegal and legal immigration. They are vastly different (though we should probably taper off immigration from Central America for a while) things. Illegals aren't innocent (they broke laws to even BE here). Business love them due to them being virtual slave labor. Progressives love it because they vote Democratic. I'm convinced that if that slaves somehow could vote, Progressives would've opposed ending slavery.

Big Mike.... As Patton purportedly said to the Russian General, " I'll drink to that, one asshole to another asshole."

Assholes that can fight and win are rare. After Trump is finished, then we can all hate him for his arrogant effrontery of saving us.

And Nehemiah was an asshole too. He once replied to a trick message seeking to to make him run away with the statement, " Should a man such as I flee?" he was an arrogant Jerk who got a big construction job done under continuous slander fire from many enemies and the enemy's allies among his own party.

Big Mike বলেছেন...

I see that the White House had to be shamed into lowering the flag to half mast in honor of the murdered marines. Obama apparently believes that the loyalty of the troops towards their commanders does not merit loyalty in the other direction.

Or is it racist to raise the issue?

Lance বলেছেন...

That bug is actually gold and white.

@Lance, considering that it was named the Common Blue Damselfly, there's a chance you're incorrect.

I was out taking my mid-afternoon break to buy watermelon from Duane Reade, and I was trapped for fifteen minutes behind barricades as Obama's motorcade went cross-town on 52nd St. I saw him clearly in the window.

This is the third time I've seen a presidential motorcade. The second time was when I was working in DC in 1978, and saw Carter, Begin, and Sadat heading either to Camp David or to the airport (not sure which). At least I think I saw them.

The first time was when I was 4 or 5. My family was living in rental housing at Fort Snelling. We all went to a little hill near Hwy 55 and saw a motorcade going by, which I was told was John F. Kennedy heading from the airport to Minneapolis for a campaign event.

Out of curiosity, why is Walker always "A college drop-out" while Coates is a "intelligent" given that BOTH dropped out of college and Walker has accomplished things?

Hagar বলেছেন...

@ Big Mike,
The United Staes is such a big country that people here have little sense of what borders are about.
Obama has wrecked the old system, such as it was, so that what we now have is just anarchy. Plus the bad effects of threatening police officers with "consequences" if they persist in enforcng the laws as written rather than following his "memos" to the agencies.
This is not good for anybody, including the illegals.

The system needs a thorough overhaul and be put on a rational basis, such that the laws not only can be, but will be enforced as written - by Congress that is.

I was at the game. Had a morning meeting the next day in Dayton, so drove into Cincy first and went to the game. Life long Cubs fan, have to say it was an amazing play, cost the Cubs the tying run.
