Failure to launch.

Why did I get up at 3:30 this morning?! I'm still trying to wake up. You know, there are Supreme Court cases coming up at the top of the hour. (Live-blog here.) I need to perk up. I'm eating second breakfast and reading "8 Genuinely Awful Tattoos That Were Saved By Ingenious Fixes."

ADDED: I thought the "ingenious" fixes would incorporate more of the bad original material. I don't see what's "ingenious" about putting something bigger and darker on top!

See? I shouldn't even have blogged that. It's much less entertaining then "Every state flag is wrong, and here is why" — which made me laugh a lot in my comfy chair yesterday but I was too lazy to get up and blog and then everyone else already blogged.

But now, I've got to see what's going on with the Supreme Court. The action is just starting!!

There's a reality show about a guy in Las Vegas who fixes bad tattoos - Bad Ink. I've watched it a couple of times when stuck in a hotel room with nothing better to do. Kind of entertaining.

You show me people with bad tattoos, and I'll show you idiots.

But there are some tattoos that can never be fixed.

I've always thought of tattoos as body graffiti. Is it also vandalism if you do it to your own body?

Tattoos are ownership markers. Who owns you? ( no tattoo = owning yourself).

Any change in ownership means a change in the Title documentation.

Ingenious? Kind of like paving over.

Repeating,

"The plain words of the statute do not mean what they plainly mean and are otherwise understood in common, everyday English. We explain more fully below."

"Yes, the Framers of the 14th Amendment, in the period of the late 1860s, understood that homosexual marriage was part and parcel of the amendment itself. That much is axiomatic."

AA: "Why did I get up at 3:30 this morning?! "

2 options:

1. Nervous excitement about the impending SCOTUS decision on gay marriage (assuming it goes your way); or

2. Breathless desire to gain insight and wisdom from your loyal, right-wing knuckleheaded blog commentators:)

Most of the State flags are truly bad, except for New Mexico's which is stylish, and Texas' which conveys the lone star image well.

Texas has a good flag. I don't like all these complicated pictures on flags.

Ohio's is a broad pennant. And it's cool.

I like New Mexico, Arizona, Texas and California's flags. The others seem to fall into the "put the seal in the middle" trap.

When the author says, of Alaska's flag,

"That’s not a flag. That’s a child’s crude rendition of the Big Dipper,"

I wonder if she is being snarky, or if she actualy realizes that that *is exactly what it is*.

I once had grease tattoos on my knuckles from being a mechanic, but eventually, they faded away. I still have one on my finger from being stabbed by a pencil in Jr. High.
