That's a Groundhog Day that the mayor won't want to repeat ad infinitum.

Only because it was appropriate to be a jerk.
All these copycat groundhog deals are stupid.
"Animals are jerks" is a category that shows animals as jerks basically from the perspective of human beings who can be rather stupid about animals, often seeing them as loving or spiritually aware.
The real meaning of the tag is: People are stupid.
The animals are only jerks if you adopt the stupid perspective.
I was one of those people shocked to learn the reality of Groundhog Day.
I really thought that camera crews, politician, scientists and well-wishers camped out near a groundhog burrow and then waited patiently -- reverently -- for the groundhog to emerge, make his prediction, and then return to his peaceful home.
Perhaps now would be a good time to mention that I used to think that my teachers lived at the school.
It's just a big rodent. Rodent gonna do what rodent gonna do. Not jerky at all.
Why fault the mayor as much as the idiot holder who shoved the rodent's snout in the mayor's ear. Mayor McCheese should have turned and kicked that guy right in the ass and gone all Tony Montana on him on camera.
Jimmy was lucky he wasn't being manhandled by Hizzoner de Blasio.
Poor little guy hung on for about a week or so.
Staten Island Chuck isn't taking any chances this year.
I thought it was a preview from "Fifty Shades of Gray".
Hey, at least the WI guy didn't spike the rodent like de Blasio did...although if the Sun Prairie mayor had maybe he could have been named Person of the Year by PETA,, too.
Went all Tyson on him.
That groundhog wouldn't have pulled that shit on DeBlasio. Say what you want about DeBlasio's issues with law and order, but he really knows how to keep groundhogs in line.
The ground hog should have lived and De Blasio died. Or whistle pig as they are also called.
