As they ask John Kerry: Why the long face?

mccullough বলেছেন...

They look worried that the Packers aren't likely to go to the Super Bowl since they don't have home field advantage.

Gahrie বলেছেন...

Seahawks for the repeat!

Over New England this time.

The Legion of Boom is going to make Brady look as bad as Peyton did last year.

Big Mike বলেছেন...

Because I believe that, at long last, we're on the eve of destruction.

The Legion of Boom is going to make Brady look as bad

You just want to make him swear repeatedly.

Don't think the Seahawks can beat the Patriots on a neutral field. But it would be a good Super Bowl game to watch.

I do not think that "playing a constructive role in their region" is all the ayatollahs have on their minds.

LOL.

Really? I just don't think the Patriots have it in them for the Big Games anymore. Besides, University of Phoenix stadium is the site of the (infamous if you're a Pats fan) Helmet Catch. I just don't see them getting it done.

I predict the Broncos lose their first game. People in Denver will be apoplectic --- I will be mildly amused.

Michigan hiring Harbaugh as football coach was quite a coup.

He played in the pros and coached in college and the pros, and was successful. He should be able to recruit talented players who hope to play in the NFL.

Nick Saban doesn't know what it takes to succeed in the NFL because he was a total failure there. He doesn't know what it's like to play in the pros because he wasn't good enough.

Humperdink বলেছেন...

Unfortunately a Seahawk-Belecheat match-up looks likely. Not inevitable, but likely.

I find it interesting that most of the teams in the NFL I despise are due to coaching personalities/owners. Pete Carroll, the Harbaughs, Rex "bye bye" Ryan, Jerry Jones and Al Davis (RIP, but it still lingers).

Birches বলেছেন...

Agree with you on Harbaugh.

Ugh. I hate Pete Carroll with a passion. A Seahawks/Patriots SB will make it a case of "Who do I hate more?" I guess that's one reason to root for the Packers, but Seattle has improved since opening weekend. The Packers have too, but...

"This means that the new EPA regulations issued by the Obama Administration now contain 21 times as many pages as the Bible and 43 times as many words."

And that would be just the regulations themselves published in the Federal Register. The shelves of further explanations, clarifications, and applications to specific industries, or subjects, etc. are not included.
No one, not even in the EPA, has read all this or have any idea what all can, or should be, done with it.

Although I'm a Cowboys fan going back to the 60s, I despise Jerry Jones. Thankfully since the Jimmy Johnson era, I've not had to worry about the team succeeding. I think Seattle or Green Bay will keep that streak going this year in the NFC. Aaron Rodgers has made me a Packers fan in the present.

Gahrie বলেছেন...

Ugh. I hate Pete Carroll with a passion.

I love the guy. He is why I am now a Seahawks fan. (I jumped on the Seahawk bandwagon when he signed up there)

He is the coach I would want to play for.

rehajm বলেছেন...

The Pats have done an excellent job of keeping a few weapons under wraps. Underestimate at your peril. Seahawks have looked strong too but they will only have 11 available to them if they make it to PHX.

Wouldn't surprise me to see neither team make it, though the Pats have it easier as the rest of the AFC looks weak and/or beat up.

Despite the bitter cold, these clear sunny skies are nice. Gloom be gone!

Humperdink বলেছেন...

Pete Carroll left USC a disheveled mess. USC experienced a near death penalty, which was advantageous to other PAC-10 teams (hello Washington Huskies). His cheating may have been worse than the "Hoodie" in Foxborough.

This Rex Ryan Video Resume is hilarious.

@Humperdink:

The worst that link accuses Carroll of is trying to get some of his players summer jobs.

I bet thirty professors at USC did exactly the same thing for some of their students that year.

garage mahal বলেছেন...

I've heard Pete Carroll is a 9/11 Truther.

Humperdink বলেছেন...

Try this one:

"Among the penalties was the loss of 30 scholarships over three years and a two-year bowl ban. USC also vacated two victories in games Bush participated during the 2004 season — including the Trojans' win over Oklahoma in the BCS title game — and all 12 of the team's wins in 2005."

@Gahrie.

Of course I have no room (i.e. none) to talk as I am PSU '73.

JoPa lost his opportunity for sainthood over Sandusky's misdeeds. And of course, it also cost him his life.

Gahrie বলেছেন...

@Humperdink:

You want me to argue that the NCAA totally overreacted and over punished USC for Bush and Mayo, especially considering how they have treated Miami et al since then, I'm there.

Humperdink বলেছেন...

And of course there is always LSU, that bastion of student athletes.

Morris Claiborne, "matriculated" at LSU from 2009 to 2001. He scored a 4 (out of 50) on the Wonderlic test, given to potential NFL draftees. It is still the lowest on record.

pm317 বলেছেন...

Plenty of reason to be gloom.. start with this (LOL, no treatment, no cost!!) :

Gruber also said that the only way to control costs is to effectively deny treatment.

“The real substance of cost control is all about a single thing: telling patients they can’t have something they want. It’s about telling patients, ‘That surgery doesn’t do any good, so if you want it you have to pay the full cost.’”

Big Mike বলেছেন...

@Humperdink, if North Carolina doesn't get the "death penalty" in every one of their varsity sports for the next two years, I'm disappointed. While we're at it they should be required to return the NCAA basketball championship trophies for 2009 and 2005, as well being retroactively declared forfeit for their bowl wins in 2010 and 2013.

In fact, just to make it really hurt take away their championships in every women's sports since 2000.

But none of this is going to happen because it's North Carolina.

Big Mike বলেছেন...

@pm317, Mitt Romney isn't the only one who can say "I told you so." Sarah Palin's remarks about "death panels" is validated by Gruber's own statements.

Smilin' Jack বলেছেন...

... there's no reason for this gloom.

Yeah, fuck feminism. Someone needs to tell that bitch to smile, bitch.

Also, Seahawks.

pm317 বলেছেন...

@BigMike, Republicans saying it won't cut it.. the big media will simply ignore it. It has to come from within the Dem party for the media to talk about it. They have done a fabulous job of hiding Gruber so far.
